  • Probably the most diverse 4wd trip I have ever done. In 16 days we discovered the Bendleby and Hungry Ranges with some of the best 4w driving in the Flinders Ranges. Stunning mountain views, scrabbly rocky tracks, steep ascents and descents which would challenge most IFS vehicles, plenty of wildlife. hidden gorges and remote waterholes are a few of the exciting things we discover...

    Hungry Highway
    Kings Ridge Track
    Yuruga Hills Pat's Peak Track

    If you only do one 4wd Trip in your life I think this one would be on top of the list. It covers nearly the whole spectrum of 4wd (besides snow) and is achievable for most 4wd vehicles if you have 2 weeks time. What do you think?

    When my son got his "L" this year we headed straight to the Bendelby ranges for him to learn how to 4WD in his old D1 300TDI. After a few days getting wheel placement right he has never looked back. This is a great place to roll swags out down on the creek line, endless tracks to explore its a great confidence builder. More than that it is great to see some more touring videos again

    Great video and drone production as always. I’ve done the Flinders and Bendleby is on my list. Thanks. Oh btw, it’s not politically correct to call those native trees ‘Black Boys’ anymore. Grass Trees should be used nowadays. Cheers.

    • @AlloffroadAu
      @AlloffroadAu  Před 3 lety +3

      thanks Graham, yes political correctness gets me being a black boy, white boy, yellow boy, green boy has no negative connotations for me it's just a colour and lets face it we have many different skin colour on our planet.

      Just because there are many skin colours doesn’t mean they should be singled out.

      Xanthorrhoea australis, the grass tree, southern grasstree, Austral grasstree or black boy, is an Australian plant. It is the most commonly seen species of the genus Xanthorrhoea. Its trunk can grow up to several metres tall and is often branched. In certain Aboriginal languages, it is called bukkup, baggup or kawee.

      @AlloffroadAu  Před 3 lety +3

      @@grahameroberts8109 all good mate don't want to go in discussions about it, I dont have an issue either way thats what I know them under and the plant being black the name fit's quite well, but I'm happy to also call them Grass Tree. For me "Black boy" is not offensive it just describes a majority colour of the plant so if any person of colour takes offense my appologies it's not mean that way at all.

    Was at Bendleby a few weeks ago. Billy Goat is only hard if your car is not highly modified because in normal cars you have to drive very close to the quite steep drop offs to get around a few rock steps. Having your wheel so close to the edge is a bit butt clenching. You guys just trundle straight over them so it would have been a doddle in your cars.

    It's a walk in the park now. 10/10 tracks are easier the some on the 8 and 9 out of 10 ones.
    31" tyres and lift was great views and driving but was walk in the park. Just slow to flex the 200. Never even lift a tyre once....
