      Get a diffuse one. The normal strips are only for indirect lighting

    Hello excellent video! I am about to start using smart lighting in my home, I want to place lighting behind the TV in my entertainment room, it does not necessarily have to be synchronized with the video (not only because it is expensive, but honestly I don't know if I get used to it or like it or use it constantly) so I prefer to try a lighting but without synchronizing, what would be my best option with Philips Hue products taking into account that I have a 65-inch TV and underneath I have a piece of furniture that I would also like to illuminate, either with ligthstrip or with another type of lighting. Thank you very much for reading me, I hope you find the time to answer me regards.

    • @kiro_tv
      @kiro_tv  Před rokem

      If you don‘t want the option for later synchronization with the tv, go for the normal light stripes. It is just ambient lighting and good for your eyes. Maybe test it before with a normal lamp with warm light placed behind your tv. Do you have an OLED tv? Because often, OLED tv user do not want ambient lighting due to the deep blacks and contrasts. So, first try if you like it with a current lamp, then think about option for synchronization later on. If not: go for the normal light stripes. If you want the option, go for the Play Gradient that is made for TV synchronization. And then you can buy the other gradient lightstripe for you tv furniture and also sync it.

    hello, thanks for the vid. one quetion, if I turn the gradient (not the tv one) on at maximum power, does a luminous flux remain continuous or do I always see separate lights?

    • @kiro_tv
      @kiro_tv  Před rokem

      If I understand it correctly, you want to know if you see separate leds when having the strip on 100%? And yes, you see them but not so badly. But would always advice to mount them „indirect“ so you see the light but not the strip. At the end of the video, you can see it quite good I think. If not, I could do another video maybe?

    Can you install the Gradient ambiance light strip at the back of a 43” TV? I mean getting a 2m gradient ambience strip for top and 2 side and then add 1m gradient ambiance for the bottom of the TV. Is this possible for syncing with the HDMI sync box?

    • @kiro_tv
      @kiro_tv  Před 2 lety +2

      I don‘t think that the sync box can handle this because it won‘t know „where“ you strip is at the back. Better buy a 55“ play gradient strip and a gradient ambiance for the bottom. But both are pricy and too long for that. Would be a waste of money. For that, you can buy a new 42“ inch ambilight tv 😅

      @@kiro_tv Thanks for your reply. How about if I just get the Gradient Light Strip Ambience 2m Base Kit only. What just strip Sync with the Hue Sync box? If not then I will just forget it the light strip for my bedroom TV. I already have the Philips Hue Play Gradient Strip 55" for my main TV in the living room. I thought of having the same amazing lights for my 43" bedroom TV.

      Sad the smallest size for the Gradient play light strip is 55”. I can use play bars but the play bars don’t stick well at the back of the TV. My 43” TV is wall mounted. If I put them down on the desk than the play bars won’t show the lights well if the TV is wall mounted

    The gradient one much better and brighter right? Could you put 3 meter strip at back of sofa and it would light a mediun size room?

    • @kiro_tv
      @kiro_tv  Před 4 měsíci +1

      It would „light“ the room. Depending on the color (red is way darker than white ofc) and the brightness (100% white is very bright). Also, it is still ambient light. Not coming from the ceiling. But yes, i would say you could use it as your only light in the room.

      Oh sorry, overlooked your comment. I think this should work, but afaik not with the standard hue app. There are different third party apps that should be able to do the trick. But I‘m not 100% sure about this. If you find out if and how it works, please post a comment here :) thx!

  • @UrdnotAkongo
    @UrdnotAkongo Před 4 měsíci

    The strip that you can extend, it says up to 32ft. Is that 32ft on a single power adapter? Would the brightness start diminishing towards the end?

    • @kiro_tv
      @kiro_tv  Před 4 měsíci

      I don‘t know for sure, but I think I‘ve read that you should use a bigger power adapter for longer stripes (100 Watt). Also, I think I remember that the brightness overall decreases with length / smaller power adapters. BUT like I said, I don‘t know for sure. So, take it with a grain of salt :)

    Hi, is there a way to make my gradient hue light from my back of the TV, do the rainbow effect? You can create a custom scene in the official app and set the gradient colors of the strip to red, green and blue. Then save the scene and edit its options to set the dynamic speed to the max. Then when you click the "play" button to activate the dynamic scene, it will cycle through the rainbow colors. No 3rd party app needed!
