    Fondest memories of this game are when soldiers try to kick or throw grenades away and just end up hitting the grenade into a wall and then for it to bounce back and instantly kill them. Outstanding AI 10/10

    This was actually my first WWII shooter! Still love it to this day... not sure if I ever completed it though, but I sure did replay an absolute ton of the levels over the years!

      It's old fashioned because if you die, you have to restart....But I have beat it about 3 times...I also love Return to Castle Wolfenstein, beating it about 5 times...it still spooks me to this day....and I'm a Veteran LOL

      It gets really BS towards the end. The final level just puts you in a single doorway with a bunch of respawning dudes with panzerschrecks. It was the WORST.

    The most amazing thing i saw a nazi doing in this game(or allied assault i dont remember in which i saw that) is that i threw a grenade at a group of nazis and one of them jumped and lied on the grenade to save the others, never saw that again in any videogame since then sadly

      I agree, every time someone tries to counter, they mention a game that just doesn’t have the variety of emotions nor the quality or instrumentation. I think I might put Skyrim second.

      @ Joseph Watkins : I know this was posted two weeks ago, but yeah I agree with you. DWTerminator wouldn't know a classic even if it bit him on the ass. Apparently, he has "high standards" when it comes to games. Little does he know that they will never be perfect. Hell, even masterpieces like _Red Dead Redemption_ and _The Last Of Us_ aren't perfect either despite being masterpieces as both games too have their own issues.

    This was my first WWII fps when it released on PS2. I spent hours playing it and it has gotten me addicted. I still dust it off occasionally to pay a couple of levels here and there. Unfortunately with the controls and graphics i usually end up just playing WaW

    6th generation games were known for being dark in general, but on top of that, modern TVs just don't handle them very well for whatever reason and present them a lot darker than they should be, exacerbating the issue. Definitely gotta get a good CRT for 6th gen games. The picture difference is a lot more astounding than this game's AI, that's for sure. Thanks for this review, Gaming Pastime, this game along with European Assault were enormous parts of my childhood, but this game's sound design and presentation were always a step ahead of everything else. Probably the best WWII game on 6th gen. I've been loving going back and playing the games that I missed. Just found out about this remaster (360 kid here) and wanted to see if it was any good and now I won't have to waste my time. The ADSing looks like garbage, the resolution is stretched and not true widescreen, plus all the technical issues and the fact that the original Xbox game looks just as good if not better on a good CRT with component cables. Gonna steer real clear of this one. Toss it in with Silent Hill HD.

    The PlayStation 2 version was the best version. I had this game since 2003-2008 and I played the sh*t out this game. I beat it so many times and kept playing even more. I loveeee this game, especially because I'm so heavily into WWII. They nailed the environment of being in WWII and the sfx and soundtrack was absolutely a masterpiece. My favorite gun sounds was definitely the Springfield and MP40. But anyways, This game deserves a hall of fame for video games.

    I understand the age of consoles like the ps2 means graphics aren’t as good as today but on the 1st mission when you have to fire at the wall I literally couldn’t make out anything and explosions shook the screen and made my aim far from where I wanted to. Other than that it’s actually good

    reminds me of cod finest hour. Got this game a LONG time ago at a gift exchange for ps2, and it plays better than the cod FH, but that might be because the MoH is for ps2 but my cod is for gamecube. Idk, they are both very similar, but fun single player games

  • @captainnintendo

    The medal system was kinda poorly thought out. I hate how in some levels during the last part you get locked into a room where you are almost guaranteed to take some damage but with no way to recover health afterwards cause the door behind you have closed you off from any health packs you might have left behind. So getting that gold medal pretty much comes down to that specific room which is kinda silly.
    On other levels when you know you are nearing the exit trigger, you'll usually have to backtrack to find a health pack that you left behind for just that purpose.
    I feel like this was poorly implemented.

    It seems like whenever a sixth-gen game is remastered that there is always going to be some new issues that were never in the original ports. This game is the perfect example. In the first level for the sixth mission, I noticed that the stairwells that can be destroyed by explosive barrels has their destroyed animations right underneath the undamaged animations. It's weird and I guess in a sense lazy. How could the developers have missed that?

    • @Gamingpastime64
      @Gamingpastime64  Před 7 lety +2

      Not only did they miss these problems, they never even released a patch.

    • @BullworthGraduate
      @BullworthGraduate Před 7 lety +1

      Another example of a remastered sixth-gen game with new issues was the _GTA: San Andreas_ remaster that came out for the Xbox 360 and PS3. Character dialogue sometimes cut out during cutscenes, and sometimes with the radio songs are skipped. You won't believe how many times I was pissed off whenever I heard _Young Turks_ by Rod Stewart beginning to play only to immediately be skipped to the end when the DJ talks about the song.

      Even though Rockstar didn't really remaster the game (that credit really goes to War Drum Studios), you would have expected that Rockstar would have tested the game out and tried to fix the bugs in that game, especially since they're the kind of studio that cares for their fans.

    for some reason ps3 version is for me waaay superior to ps2 and xbox - something about framerate in these versions makes them hard for me to enjoy (like some kind of delay in controls), though running os2 version on ps2 seems to resolve that for me. But i also prefer using ironsights (even if not very well made). But overall i really like that game, far on my moh list, but high on my fps list :p
