Yarn chat no 9... Tudor Rose

Hallo
Lovely to see you again. Come in and help yourself to a Passionfruit Power smoothie, freshly made :) Welcome back to Yarn chat.
I am chatting about three things today.
The Crochet thing is... the Tudor Rose motif, the latest motif in the year long CAL (crochet-a-long) by Jane Crowfoot, featured in Inside Crochet.
I am substituting yarn, and using Stylecraft Special DK, and this time added some Sirdar Snuggly in colour Rice Pud.
The Knit thing is... The Purl Pouch by Tori Yu. I have knitted three of these pouches in left over yarn and love them. I enjoy the freedom to use what I have around to create something new. I use various needles including HiyaHiya sharps from my interchangeable set and Adi dpns (double pointed needles).
The new thing is... the latest box from my cross stitch subscription box to the Historical Sampler, called Cotton & Twine. This month's theme is Spring and is gorgeous!

Your crochet squares are amazing, so intricate, well done. I used to be a test stitcher many years ago and stitched a piece for the Historical Sampler, that takes me back! Now, knitting has taken over! Always learning new techniques which is all good. X💕

Same as you Louise, an intermediate at both knitting and crochet. I've been doing both for half a century or more, but I stick with relatively straightforward patterns. I suppose I could tackle something more complicated but, for me personally, that would change it from being a relaxing hobby to being a headache, and who needs more of those in life!😊

Can you explain round 5&6 I can't understand it for the life of me. I can't get the second row of petals to point the way it does in the magazine...
