Yep, they're great lures. The bigger ones are deadly on Murray cod, too.

First bass of the season for myself was a 60 cm nearly 2 and a bit kilo, not to boast or nothing 🍻🍻

@@StarloGetsReel thanks mr starling, took me by surprise, I went back home to the Clarence river with some garden worms from the old boys veggie garden, wasn’t expecting it so i went by myself, I swam the fish for about 5 mins waiting for someone to come take a photo,I needed that photo 😂😂

On the Nepean lots fattys that haven't spawned from Warragamba dam spilling but will get their chance next winter which is fantastic but have found 2 good session of nice silver post spawned coming up stream yesterday got awesome attack from a 30ish love watching em going after a lure out of nowhere(marine sunnies a must👌)then got a 40cm rainbow in the same spot fantastic after 3hrs of 0 lol..
Well done! Catching bass and trout side by side is certainly "different"!
@@StarloGetsReel yeah the water is still cold lots of young fisho's after 2yrs thinking this is normal but our future regulars after all us older fisho are pretty excited & tell em if the dam don't spill for years eg 96-12 this phomenon doesn't happen so enjoy whilst it lasts & they are clued-up on fishing for the future plus take their rubbish couldn't ask for more👌
Solid man yeah I fished up that way towards Richmond and cleaned up biggest bass was 45cm. We landed east 30 plus fish in 2 hrs
@@MrFrosty888 land base has been hit and miss but a few good seasons if I had boat would be smacking them hard when they are on the bite, have kayak but stuffed my knee trout fishing lol
@@hairyscary8511 landbase for me bro past two years and it’s great. Week before last we landed east 60 plus bass and ep all over 30cm mark day into the night too boot
I find bass respond really well to dark lures with a Lazer holographic finish. My biggest 2 summers ago measured 63cm on a yozuri crystal flash Minnow 70 BBS.

Great video Steve, it had been a slow start here on the Bass as well but the last couple weeks it's fired right up. They are taking everything but top water has been most productive, do you try much top water in the early season?
I do some topwater right from the start of the season, but it's not always effective. Depends on the time and place, I reckon.
@@StarloGetsReel yeah absolutely, I've been getting smashed on the whopper plopper lately. Definitely recommend looking them up if you haven't tried them before, getting 20 hits in a 1.5 hour session with fish averaging 40cm. Bloody good fun!

@@StarloGetsReel No kidding, mine was cicadas until recently when I tried a Whopper! How good is it mate, can fish it different ways and in different flow rates and they just smash the thing 😍
