  • In this video: The HG P407 TOYOTA Hilux TAMIYA Bruiser clone gets a GMC V8 engine swap! The blubber-blubber V8 is simulated in software as well as the 3 speed automatic transmission with torque converter. Everything is running on my DIY open source sound and light controller, which is communicating with the receiver via SBUS.

    Light & sound controller features:
    - Sampling rate up to 22’050Hz, instead of 16’000
    - Multiple sounds can play simultaneously
    - real DAC outputs, no R/C filter circuit required
    - the variable speed engine sound can play at the same time as an additional sound with fixed speed (a horn or a siren for example)
    - A lot of pre configured vehicles are available
    - special sounds included like: „Martinshorn“ fire truck horn, US Police siren, Swiss post bus horn, train horn, car horn, MAN TGA truck horn
    - Engine sounds for: Land Rover Defender V8, ford Mustang, Chevy Nova, Dodge Challenger, MG B GT V8, LaFerrari, Scania V8, Ural V8, Kenworth, CAT, Detroit Diesel etc.
    - Air brake & jake brake sounds
    - Output for vibrating motor, which simulates engine vibrations
    - Vehicle inertia simulation (if crawler type ESC is connected to pin 33)
    - Virtual clutch, making the engine sound much more realistic (if crawler type ESC is connected to pin 33)
    - simulated manual 3 speed, automatic & double clutch transmissions
    - The TAMIYA 3 speed transmission is synchronised in software and can be shifted while driving
    - Many light functions like headlight, tale light, brake light, indicators, blue light, foglight, sidelights, high & low beam
    - 6 PWM RC servo signal inputs
    - 13 light outputs
    - PWM, PPM, IBUS & SBUS communication, makes it compatible with most common remotes

    This is ground-breaking stuff! I'm looking to do something like this and would love to learn! Keep up the good work!

    Great work, the truck sounds and moves in a very realistic fashion. What speakers are you using in your 3d printed housings?
    I hope you build or buy an RC TANK some day because I know you will add some great new functions to your already awesome ESP32 sound/light/motion controller!!
    My JS-1 has your ESP32 board, so does my T-35. I am now printing a 1/10 scale King Tiger that will also make good use of your board.

      Thank you. Yes, it's behaving very realistic. I drove it 3.5km through the muddy forest today. No issues, just great sound! Unfortunately I'm not really into tanks, I prefer trucks.

    Technically that never had bigger than a 6 cylinder that you should get a 6 cylinder sound out of it that's my opinion.

    Are you still using 328p for the controller or already switched to STM32?

    • @TheDIYGuy999
      @TheDIYGuy999  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes, 328p. It does everything I need, including SBUS for the sound & light controller.

    • @somedudewithakeyboard
      @somedudewithakeyboard Před 3 lety

      @@TheDIYGuy999 Does it also handle switching gears and fake engine inertia? Or those things are purely for sound?

    • @TheDIYGuy999
      @TheDIYGuy999  Před 3 lety +1

      @@somedudewithakeyboard It does handle the real 3 speed transmission, which is used as off road reduction. The fake inertia and automatic transmission sound is handled by the ESP32, which is connected via SBUS.
