Love how the speaker used personal anecdotes to illustrate their points. It made the talk so relatable. Superb !!!
Thank you so much Steven. I am passionate about humanising the workplace -- and love to speak about it in stories! Watch this space;
I appreciate how the talk broke down complex concepts into easy-to-understand pieces too, it’s one for all of us to consider !
Shane you made my day! I've been thinking about humanising the workplace and I was hoping my concepts made sense. More coming your way;)
Beautifully delivered
We need to empower individuals to think outside the box and not fear making a mistake or god forbid they fail
Yes -- let's make mistakes and honour the learning. Rock climbers don't think they have pushed themselves if they haven't fallen -- caught by safety ropes. I wonder how we can create that safety to fall and learn to come back up. More coming this way
Grateful for this
Such a great talk Katharine
The speaker’s unique perspective brought new depth to the discussion. Brilliantly done!
You made my day Leo -- hurray! I am so passionate about humanising the workplace -- we have lost the plot -- and it is time I went out there even more to bring 35 years of depth and reflection -- and find people to join me. Watch this space
Relationships and good relationships need nurtured over time
They do take time furkanaydogan -- and a workplace that nurtures them -- this is my passion -- and * think we have a long way to go
I get overwhelmed when i think of this over digitised world we live in Katharine
Join the overwhelmed club, Emra -- we are all overwhelmed and are losing the human connection as we sit hunched over our computer -- we need to sort out how we are all going to respond to bring the human back into the workplace -- watch this space
I believe we all need to discover our true potential , totally agree
Yes!! Potential -- creating workplaces that honour potential is my passion. Thank you for commenting nanina
Glad i came across and it has challenged my thinking , in particular my relationships in my workplace
Thank you for commenting Craig -- I hope it does challenge your thinking and we find a way to strengthen our relationship with people in the workplace, like we once did in village times
Very very well delivered and i watch a lot of these talks , one of the best i’ve heard
Hurray saadetdemir -- I love that you watched it and found the relevance. We have so much more to change in our workplaces to humanise them. Watch this space.
This digital era is crazy - i have a kid who’s screen time is 9 hours per day
Egads ranaayvaz -- I think all of our children are suffering from this. My son had to do university from home for two years during Covid -- I'm now wondering what the impact is on this generation's ability to connect to people in real time -- and whether we will lose the art of dialogue and seeing potential. Watch this space.
The stats in this Katherine blew my mind !
THanks so much for watching Corey -- yes, the stats make me sad -- but also hopeful that we can wake up and respond to the call to humanise the workplace
Not my normal topic but hugely interesting, you are a great speaker K McLennan !
Oh thank you Eroglufato -- hurray you made my day. I am so glad that you went here even though it wasn't your normal topic -- and you can see my passion helps me fire up my speaking -- which is my art, like others have golf or guitar, so I appreciate your comments
Your health is your wealth that’s for sure
Great saying Ahmettopal . . . I will remember that in my future talks -- health and connection -- those have always been our wealth, haven't they? We have a revolution on our hands; Watch this space.
Really got me thinking about my potential within
Lyndau -- hurray -- keep reflecting -- and keep seeing other's potentials -- in this way we will humanise our workplace. Watch this space.
Amazing talk
I’m excited to apply some of these ideas in my own life too Katherine and i’ll be in touch !
Hurray Dwane -- please let me know how you apply them -- as I want to keep talking about this topic -- and I want to get ideas from people on what works both in work and at home. Watch this space.
The world is fast changing that’s for sure
That is for sure ayhanakalp -- too fast for most of us -- we need to figure how to have slow and fast -- -- how to slow down amidst the crazy technology growth -- and actually see people. This is my passion. Watch this space.
Sharing this to my network Katherine
Claude! you made my day -- I am hoping that people enjoy your recommendation -- and have ideas about how to bring humanity back to the workplace. Watch this space.
This talk completely changed my perspective on the topic. Thank you for sharing your insights Katharine
Oh Maria -- I'm so glad that is definitely what I intended to do -- I am hoping it changes many perspectives on humanising the workplace -- and we start to see us connecting our hearts and minds so much more. Watch this space.
AI is a crazy old world and i agree digital distractions needs discussed more !!!!!!
Thanks for watching Stephen . . . . we seem to be getting crazier and crazier the more we get away from the simple art of dialogue and truly seeing each other. Distractions from our real purpose on this earth mean we grow more and more isolated and sad. We need to figure out how to bring back what our ancestors once knew. Watch this space.
Really enjoyed this one , thank you Katharine
Sedayuksel -- thank YOU for watching -- and sending your appreciation. It gives me confidence 1) that I am on the right track, and 2) that I can speak more and more -- as it is my primary hobby and art -- like others have singing or sport. Watch this space.
This was incredibly informative. I learned so much about Katharine. I’ll definitely be looking into this more.
THank you Rodney -- I am going to get out there to inform how we can humanise our workplace -- definitely keep looking and thinking and trying things -- we have so much to learn, so much to share -- Watch this space.
I use my intuition in times of uncertainty and i very rarely wrong as a result, if that makes sense. !! Great talk btw
Thank you cemalozel. INTUITION INTUITION. It requires slowing our mind and not getting lost in technology or the stress of too many hours at work. You are definitely seldom wrong with intuition -- and our society has lost it a bit if you ask me . . . . let's keep bringing it to the workplace -- and regaining our lost birthright. Watch this space.
I hated being an employee, and i hated my workplaces
Yes -- Muzluhamsi -- so many people are uninspired -- and worse, depressed. These workplaces more resemble chicken coops where everyone is bent over their desks -- and not connecting, not imagining. We have so much more to go -- Watch this space!
Loved this talk
Thank you Jason for watching -- I so appreciate this -- and I intend to speak more and more about humanising our workplace and seeing others' potentials. Watch this space.
Thanks for sharing , a very unique perspective
Thanks Andrea -- I appreciate you watching my talk -- I feel like we have so much to learn and remember about who we can be in potential and who we can be in relationship to others. Watch this space.

Thanks for sharing !
Dayjane, thank YOU for watching and commenting. All of your comments are giving me the courage to get out there and speak more and more -- and see if we can all get the energy from each other to bring us the connection we once had in our villages. Watch this space!
Loved this
Awesome gulcancaner -- I so appreciate your comments -- I love the topic of humanising our communities back to where we once were in villages -- seeing each other, creating with each other -- getting outside in nature -- slowing our minds. We need to get back to the way our ancestors did things, that is for sure! Watch this space!
Fantastic Katharine
Marvin -- thank you for your encouragement -- it is high time I got out there and do what I love (speaking) about a topic I am very passionate about -- hoping to get others to join me on changing the way we work and live in our communities. Watch this space!

Huge well done , fab talk
James -- thank you thank you. All of everyone's feedback is giving me the confidence to get out there and speak more about the topic, to see if we can get the human back in the workplace -- and strengthen the connections with mind and heart. Watch this space!
Important message and great advice (despite the note on it ) Congratulations Katherine keep shining
James -- thank you for appreciating the important message I am trying to convey. I will definitely work on continuing to shine as I hope to find and implement ideas on how to bring the human into the workplace. Watch this space!
Super interesting talk

Fascinating talk Katherine
Thank you Bernard -- it IS fascinating -- and has been motivating me for many years to finally get out in the public to speak about it and rallying people to join me in changing the way we work and connect. Watch this space!
Well done
I really appreciate your support in watching and commenting, Jeffery . . . this support means a lot to me as I gather my confidence to get out there and speak about it more and more. Humanising the workplace is going to become so very important to us if our sanity and human connection will survive! Watch this space!
The Imagination age !!!!!!!
Yes the imagination age has arrived but we seemed to have forgotten how to imagine! We can't rely on industrial techniques or information gathering anymore -we have to rethink rethink, and re-imagine -- together in environments that allow us to SLOW down -- use our intuition and concern -- I will be writing a lot more about this and SPEAKING. Watch this space!
super content in this one
Rhianna -- thank you thank you for watching and commenting. I have sooo much content on this that will hopefully be helpful to people who are frustrated at work -- and sad that they are not being seen. Watch this space!
anyone recommend additional resources on this topic? I’d love to learn more.
Hi Shealynn . . . there is just beginning to arise more and more questions about how we bring the human back into work -- and how we can show the impact of the current workplace on the brain and its destruction. If you look at websites like aboutmybrain -- or search for Brain in the Workplace -- you will begin to see more and more. and Watch this space!, because I intend to write more and more about ideas and ways we might want to address this.
AI will never ever replace humans .
Hakungunel -- no AI cannot replicate our wisdom that we forget shows through our eyes, our hearts, our guts. So much of this wisdom goes unseen --BUT happens every second without us realising. We get lost in the calculations of life -- and forget how important the human connection is -- and how powerful! Watch this space!
Enjoyable
Thanks Dorothye -- it is enjoyable to understand what is happening to our brain when things go great with our human connection - -and when they don't. I want to speak more and more about this topic, but it's super important not only receive the information --but really enjoy it too. Watch this space!
I get the message Katharine.i fear the average individual doesn’t know how to think for themselves anymore such is the reliance on technology
Shacora -- yes, we seem to have outsourced all of our thinking and imagining to AI -- this is sad for me -- but I have hope we can have our cake and eat it too. The question we have to ask ourselves is how we can use AI to allow us more time in the day to imagine, to connect and to create . . .I'm on that mission . . . Watch this space!
Congrats
Thanks Vantrice -- I am taking the energy of your congrats into my confidence building to get out there and speak more and more about the topic of humanising the workplace and reconnecting to each other -- and sharing the "attention" we give to computers with what we give to humans. Watch this space!
Artificial Intelligence is useful for building relationships BUT only with good governance and accountability
Demirdemirer -- I AGREE with this-- well said -- I am going to really reflect on the governance and accountability -- as AI (so far at least) is not allowing us to connect our eyes, our heartbeats, our ways of emotions and physical being -- I think we have forgotten how powerful we really are in addition to the intellect and the analysis. Watch this space!
Wow
Yes, WOW -- is what I feel every day as I wonder how we can go back to our ancestors and return with their wisdom about slowing the mind and connecting to the village. Thank you for seeing the video and commenting, Sharon -- Watch this space!
I’m curious about how the speaker’s ideas could be implemented ?. Has anyone tried this?
Donna--OK -- here we go -- The answer is --well, mostly now. Our workplaces have not created places where we can IMAGINE new ways to work. We instead are praising the analysis, the spreadsheets, the PowerPoint presentations. So, I am on the way to working with all of you to imagine what a workplace could be. A great book to start reading is Reinventing the Organization, by Frederic Laloux. He has captured SOME examples that are just starting.
I myself think we are in danger of relying too much on technology
Catherine, we are certainly in danger of overreliance on technology. If we could figure out how to use it to save us from the menial tasks that zap our energy -- and allow us more time to connect with people, slow our monkey minds down -- and imagine new possibilities -- that would be a win, win. I am on a mission to do this. Watch this space!
Why the health note from ted on this talk - hate when they do that - the talk is brilliant and i didn’t think the speaker was giving me health advice !!
Oh thank goodness Oscar -- Ted is very concerned that people don't take what speakers say without verifying the source. I have given TedTalk many, many sources of scientific journals that support each point I make, and I am glad that you picked up that I was not giving health advice. I am rather making a call to action for all of us to imagine how we could change the way we connect; the way we work. I certainly don't have the answers --but I am willing to go out there and think about how we do . . . Thank you!!!
.
Digital brain fog i see everywhere
Vaniqua -- you are so right -- my head spins with it sometimes. I am now building a routine into my day where there is no computer/digital device in sight -- I have a piece of white paper and colours, or I get out outside, or I meditate, or I connect with friends or my dogs. I am slowly reclaiming my humanness -- and creativity -- and fighting this digital fog. This video is just the start of how I intend to express and incite this creativity back into humans!~ Watch this space!
