Did you know that David has some kind of vocal paralysis in his vocal chords and couldn't sing or really talk for the longest time and still to this day he still doesn't have full power of his vocal chords... he talked about it when he was on American idol and afterwards

Seeing David live a few years ago is one of my greatest memories. He is absolutely remarkable. He sounds the same whether it's on his studio version or live. He can easily bring an audience to tears by how beautiful he sounds

Wow! I remember when David was on American Idol. He's improved so much, but hasn't aged much! His tone has become more rich and full, unless I'm not remembering his Idol performances well (it was awhile ago). This was interesting to me since I've never seen this song performed by 2 guys in the lead vocals. I enjoyed Nathan's voice a lot, too!

Oh!....nothing more entrancing than a beautiful human voice. When I hear voices like this I just want to sit quietly somewhere... maybe on that staircase ...with my eyes closed and listen to them sing.
I really love David's voice! I remember my parents took me to see him almost a decade ago (lol) when he came to my country. When I heard him sing I cried because it was so beautiful and filled with emotion, and I have the same reaction every time I listen to him even now.

When David was on American Idol 10 or 11 years ago, my Mom and I both loved David's voice and wanted him to win. Watching Idol with my Mom for around 10 weeks was one of the most memorable times of my life.
It's been my supreme pleasure to see David live three times, once back in 2009, and twice recently, in 2018 and 2019, and I got to speak with him for a few moments those last two times. He is, truly, the real deal. Besides what you call so correctly the mastery of his instrument, he is just radiant in his personality and positivity. Back on Idol after he performed "Smoky Mountain Memories" Paula Abdul called him "glorious," and I couldn't help but tell him he was exactly that. This performance is one of my favorites, David and Nathan's voices mesh so perfectly.
That was so beautiful that they brought tears to my eyes.

liked the song it was beautiful Loved the studio they were in and how they had the mic's set up as room mics like it was a foyer with the stairs great reverb and the piano and Cello in separate rooms.

David was on Idol when I was in 6th grade and I was just enamored by his range, his tone and the way he connected to whatever he was singing on that show. I'm 23 now and I've discovered a lot of new amazing artists over the years but David is still one of my absolute favorites....was supposed to see him live for the 6th time last month before COVID postponed the tour. His Christmas stuff like "O Holy Night" and "Ave Maria" really showcase everything you talked about here Tara, but even some of his pop stuff like "Good Place", "To Be With You", "Up All Night" and "My Kind Of Perfect" really do a good job of that too.
I've been listening to David for 10 years and i'm happy to see this reaction video 'cause i've requested to some of the reactors to react to one of his live perfrormance. But they just seen me haha. I'm glad to see to you reacting to david and nathan. I'm too late to watch this but it was to know your channel. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Wow, I've listened to this so many times (at least 200!) in the years since it came out that I nearly forgot about it, so I was thrilled when it popped up as something you've recently reviewed! Isn't it stunning? So glad you critiqued it. I agree with everything you said, although Nathan's gorgeous tone, range and flawless diction could've also gotten more attention. It's the best male-male version of this song I've ever heard and PERHAPS (there are lots of good ones out there) my favorite version of all.

I would have to rewatch to verify, but I don't believe the end was as you believe, I believe Nathan was holding the still note, and David was moving.... could be wrong, but I believe Nathan owned the beautiful still final note! :)~ either way, just lovely!
It is hard to tell but I agreed with you and then watched a live performance. It seemed to me, from that video, that David held the high note and Nathan sang the run.

You know there was another singer in the video? I agree with you, David is amazing. Nathan (Pa-shek-o) is incredible. This song was performed to accentuate David, (it is on his album) but Nathan on his own is truly a joy to hear. At the very beginning of his career, Yanni had him as one of his vocalists. If you want to hear Nathan, check out Yanni's voices concert. That is where I first heard Nathan and I've been a huge fan ever since.

I found your studio on Google and you are actually really close to where my Grandaddy had his Restaurant in Smyrna 32 years (It is now McIntyre's Bakery and they are family friends.)
