I love it when the crowd start chanting "Brian! Brian!" Nice to see him getting the recognition. Those South American audiences were really something else.

Portuguese as first language. They are true queen fans. They know all the words to this song. ❤

What makes this extra special is that the crowd speaks Portuguese, yet they memorized and sang the song in English. And Freddie thanked them in Portuguese, just a beautiful peformance.

There were about 300, 000 people in this audience and as many for the second show Queen did on that tour here. These people are not English speaking for the most part, the people of Brazil speak mostly Portuguese but they sang all of the words of this song. The crowd is so great that they even chant out for Brian.

My favorite part of this video is when the camera shows what the effects of the crowd singing has on Freddie you can feel his emotional response he's just soaking it all in. That must be the most emotional feeling for any musician but Freddie had the most incredible crowd interaction that I've ever seen. 👑

In 1981 to 1982, I took my junior year abroad in Mexico.
That was the best year of my life for many reasons. One of my best memories is coming home after school and getting together with my friends who spoke little English, but could repeat every single word of a Queen song, when we all jammed on guitars.
The crowd also happened in Puebla, Mexico when I saw Queen in concert that year. There will never be anything like that. No experience can top that.

HEY, THANK YOU for this one!
And, TRUE… The audience were not even English speaking.
Another FANTASTIC song from Rio is:
    “IT’S A HARD LIFE”
    On JANUARY 12, 1985
(The Rock in Rio Festival had Queen perform TWO TIMES, a week apart: on January 12 and on the 19th.
The January 12 show is by far THE BEST… Freddie dresses up in some funny costumes (which he DOESN’T for the next show) and he sings some HIGH NOTES in the first show that he also “skips” on the 19th. (Maybe he was tired from partying for a week!)

This video is such an excellent illustration of what it means to have a shared experience created by music-not just with Queen of course. Once you got to the concert, people were patient with each other, no us vs them and no f***ing cell phones recording to watch later instead of being present in the moment.

This was a two day concert that over 1.5 million people attended during the two days. It was the largest paying crowd in history at that time. Freddie loved his fans, you can tell and they loved him back and would do anything he wanted them to do with a wave of his hand.

    Hello, very nice Reaction .
You had just enjoyed Freddy's great love for classical music.
Please listen to the Freddy + Montserrat album, it is a declaration of the love to music that a person can feel when asked to describe the love that he attaches to his life and can feel in every fiber of his body.
An experience in life that makes you feel the value of life 's feelings .
You realice how much you can miss in life.
    RIP Freddy

Deeply touching audience participation. She didn't know they were going to sing. It was a difficult time in Lara's life, and they wanted to cheer her up. Lara Fabian!
