I always have used Muzzy 100 grain 3 blades. I use them on my compound bow I use them on my crossbow. They are simple and work well. My crossbow is 180 pound draw wait shoots a bolt at 350 feet per second too.
I just bought the Muzzy 100 to try this season. Good to hear people like them.
Know if they would be compatible with the rx adder ?
Ditto on that. Shoot like darts. Great penetration.
What do you think about the Nap Blood runner 3 Blade. Do you think those would work good for a crossbow or the wasp jack hammer mechanical? Both would be 125 grain. Thanks for the input and keep the great video's coming
Great video !
Excalibur with Killzones. Turns em inside out. Can shave canes off the bolt with the field point.
I shoot an excal matrix 330, i use 150 grain bolt cutters. Most accurate thing i have ever shot and ive never lost an animal using them. I use them for everything from turkeys to moose.
I'm not a fan of expendables broadheads. I've had bad luck with them not opening. I've been using the carbon express dual xt serrated for crossbow and its just deadly. Went through all the deers i shot. Perfect for me.
Was having issues sighting in tenpoint viper
Solved problem with gold tip 425 ballistic bolt with 150 grain Excalibur bolt cutter broadhead
Getting 1" groups at 30 yards
Hi Dan, will you test ravntek mechanical heads for us? We will send you some.
What the best broadhead to shoot out of my new centerpoint recurve crossbow 175
I'd like to see a survivability comparison on these pricy items. Or a cost of replacement parts and ease of installing them.
No need for suspicion with the Killzones. They are awesome and massive blood trails. They stand up to super velocity and are very accurate. So far there are five deer that have paid a price at my hands.
Plz can someone tell what one to shot out of it thanks
I bought a Ten Point Nitro RDX from yall a few weeks ago, what kind of broadhead do you suggest i use for Turkey?
Killzone again. An improved Rage that stands up to high velocity and doesn’t use collars
what are you guys using for elk ?????
What do they recommend for crossbow gpp? If it’s 8-10 that would make a 200 lb crossbow shooting a 16-2000 grain arrow 😮
Thanks for the great video!
i used to used rage broadheads all of the time....my buddy gave me a couple grim reapers and i shot an 8 point about 15 yards from me and he literally went down in a couple jumps...they leave big hole
I'v used grim reapers there good. But this year i'm using the 3 inch 150 gr swhacker
hi my name is Ricky.last year I used rage extreme 2.3 bread head with my SA sport's crossbow 245 ftps and used aluminum bolts had good luck with them got 4 deer and lost one.this year I got a new crossbow Parker bushwhacker 2015 stile 301 FTPS switched to red hot Parker carbon Express bolt. so am going to rage extreme crossbow 2 inch cut. do u still thank they will work the same.the only thang I didn't like is had bad penetration with them.but figured it was the crossbow not rage.
+Ricky Lloyd those will work just fine. going to the 2" from the 2.3" will help your penetration too. Good luck!
I have a CamX crossbow and I us 100 grain SLICK TRICK
I use NAP Thunderhead 100gain but I don't take shots over 40yrds
RIGHT ON THE KILLZONE PACKAGING IT SAYS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR CROSSBOWS SO WHY ARE YOU RECOMMENDING THEM FOR CROSSBOWS THE BOX I HAVE IS 125 GRAIN TOO.???
About 2 years have passed. What are your current favorites/go to broadheads for hunting deer. I recently got a Horton storm rdx and considering grim reaper whitetail 2" 100 gr or ramcat 100 gr what are your opinion on those. Thanks
+Eugene Johnston Hi Eugene... you're right it's been awhile since we put out this video. I still really like the NAP Killzone for whitetails and deer sized animals. The Ramcats have shot really well in our tests as well. I haven't messed around with the Grim Reapers but have heard good things. - Chris
+Crossbow Experts picked up spitfire xxx and killzone maxx. Will try them both. Thanks
Wicked ridge m370 scope adjust
I am needing some alpha brite nocks for tenpoint red or green and can't locate any, would you have those in stock
Gimme a call David we've got what you're looking for :)
What’s better a 3 blade or 4 blade
Beside Bolt Cutter. What other broadheads can I get in the 150 grain?
Shwacker 3" 150gr
400 fps bow, will these mechanical broad heads open in flight?
Do you have to use crossbow specific broadheads or can all broad heads off the shelf be used.new to crossbows and looking for a real answer. I just bought some rage hypodermics and a pack of g5 deadmeats. Does not say crossbow anywhere on the package but was told at the store both can be used on 20" 300 grain bolts.both brand heads are 100 grain.
What's the difference between a compound mechanical broadhead, and a crossbow mechanical broadhead? Are the interchangeable? Can a crossbow shoot a compound mechanical broadhead, while a compound can not shoot a crossbow mechanical broadhead? Or vise versa?
Killzones are some of the best broadheads I’ve ever used. I’ve taken 5 deer with them and blood trails were massive. Always get good accuracy with them. There are a lot of good heads out there and everybody has there favorites, but you generally won’t be sorry with Killzones.
We agree with you Douglas, Killzones are our most recommended choice for a mechanical head, especially for higher speed bows.
Happy hunting!
Hey guys, there's something wrong with your notification bell icon, it show a 404 error. Can you fix it so I won't miss any of your videos?
are you sure it's not blocked by your computer...i have a privacy thing on mine and some sites i have to turn it off or it won't show sh2t
@@patrickstewart3255 Yep, that fixed it! Thank you!
Ok if you're selling something, but I've used 100gr thunderheads on my bow and crossbow, fly like field points and are devastating on deer!
James Phillips these used to be all I used. They work very well. I’ve since changed to magnus’s black hornet ser razor. They’re vicious.
@@gsnicholas8522 if it ain't broke I ain't fixing it,lol
I use the Rage 2" slim...killed two deer this year before Thanksgiving....I have a question.....crossbow experts......can I use 22" or 20" on my Raptor Barnett Crossbow?
My penetrator uses a 20" bolt.
+salm37 My Raptor cam with 20" bolts.
The Barnett Raptor uses 20 inch bolts but I'm sure the 22's would work but you couldn't interchange them. The 22's are heavier and won't be as fast so I'm not sure why you would want to use them. By the way I am a Barnett Raptor fx owner.
Can you use broadheads over 100GR with excalibur 330-380 xbows?
Absolutely.
Maybe later you could talk about the threads on the broadheads.
Meijer, $9.99, 3 pck fixed blade, 125 grain. Massive blood trail thru standing corn. Big Buck Down! 8 or at 180# dressed. 25 yds. Don't even remember brand name. Horrible passthru shot but worked.
can i use the broadheads from my compound bow arrows no one seems to know
I switch my Spitfire 125's from my compound bow to my crossbow and the fly great on both.
Me also I use same heads in my cross bow and Hoyt . I use swhackers 100 grain's.
James Peverill I used to use thunderhead 100’s for both. Now I use Magnus Black Hornet ser razors 125 grain for both. Both of them fly great out of both my crossbow and my compound.
What about fixed blades
Shot placement is more important than what brand of arrow head you use, any sharp head can be lethal if it hits vital organs .A crossbow is a short range weapon, because you can hit a stationary target at 50+ yards does not mean you can kill all big game at that yardage it is NOT A RIFLE!!!
Myron Laidler great points here. I’m glad someone said it. I’ll add one thing. Prepare for when things don’t go exactly as planned, because it’s going to happen eventually.
DOES IT COME WITH A PRACTICE BLADE? IF NO....WHY NOT
FaQ
You forgot about the best Ramcat.
I can’t get a 2 inch to shoot accurately
Try the swacker green 2 inch very accurate as far as I tested them around 90 yards
Fixed broadheads seem to throw my accuracy off on my Barnett ghost 410.they work better on the Barnett recurve I bought my daughter...I'm guessing because of the lower speeds, fps...I believe the fixed broadheads act as vains and arrows fly funny. I just ordered some rage mechanical broadheads I will update when I get to take them out,I use a 3d deer target for practicing I start at 10 yards and work my way out to 45 yards while practicing.
I will look into it.i will try them out I never heard of them.
Shawn P I would like to know what grain broadheads you used. The faster the arrow travels the heaver the projectile should be to counter the extra drag.
jordan foster first 100, then 125 grain
jordan foster come to find out they send me a crossbow with a cam that was defected. They sent me a new bow
What happens if you hit the shoulder? What happens if they don’t open? What happens if they open in flight? For me, too many what if’s. I am sticking to fixed blade heads.
OR...
you could practice with them and find out for yourself if your fears are legitimate or not.
what if a get hit crossing the street today? what if my tire blows on the freeway and i roll my car? what if lightning hits me while i'm in my treestand? how do you even make it through a day worrying about hypotheticals?
breathe and squeeze Those aren’t comparative analogies lol. I have seen friends lose trophy deer due to expandable failures.
@@Ryan-jx4vh they are what i called them, hypotheticals.
don't take marginal, low % shots and pretty much any broadhead made will cleanly kill a deer. there's no need for a broadhead that can withstand being shot through a truck hood, quartering-away 1/2" plywood, and denser ballistic gel. practice often, take clean, ethical shots, and use sharp heads, and the deer will drop.
breathe and squeeze You brought up life and death scenarios and compared that to broadhead selection.
The real world doesn’t work like you are indicating. It gets windy, animals move, etc and then marginal shots happen. I want a broadhead that will work best when conditions aren’t ideal, especially with an animal of a lifetime. You do you, though. 👍
i shoot today dead ringer freak extreme out of my chrosbow, it is the worse accurate broadhead i have ever shoot horibble. at 30 yards it plains 8 inches. i am very disappointed in then !!!
don't listen The bolt can be 20-22 inch right? So its shorter then arrow and heavy. So i will recommend 125g broadhead or higher 150g YOU WILL HAVE BETTER result then 100g Try and let me know
look a3 videos in french.mooses test d epaules fleches orignal
i've been hunting with a crossbow in Ohio since 1976....what you just showed you couldn't give me...been there done that....look to Magnus
Is it the broad head that is "accurate" or is it the arrow? Geezzzzeee
Please STOP “UM”. good video , tho
