I like that Rockwell shows if not regret or sorrow for their actions, at least the understanding of how to still try and conive his way back into people's good graces. It's cool that he has the layered voice on that one note, where you can hear him both cry and scream/shout things like "Don't leave me here! I'm sorry!".
That first Rockwell note was so well done! I've read all the story notes and I love the lore behind Ark. I always wondered about Rockwell and whether there was always a part of him that retained his Humanity while the allure of Element slowly ate away at his sanity. It seems there was always a part of him that wished to remain with the others, to join them when they left Aberration.
I feel like the part of him that speaks to us during the Aberration boss fight, that part of him is so infused and corrupted by Element that it's really the Element speaking to us, using Rockwell's pride and hubris. It's like we're interacting with two different characters.
All-in-all, I love all of it. It really showcases the tragedy that is Rockwell's character, and the trials that all of the survivors endured to pursue their goals.

@@giles.9862 Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if another homo deis did that but I don't think that was Helena's intention it was already shown that the ark that aberration he's on was a miscalculation like I believe if I remember correctly after being romanticord they were supposed to show up at the one you were too so it was either Rockwell or Helena just taking advantage of the same odd occurrence to bring them to aberration

Same. I went back to collect them on all the story maps. I'm almost done with Ab. I highly recommend downloading the Explorer Notes Plus mod on Nexus. The Explorer Notes are voiced by the voice actors from Ned the Noodle's narrated Explorer Notes videos but they add voices for Nerva, Mei Yen, Riai, John, and Diana. They only work up to Aberration though.
Finding the notes gets much easier with the explorer note tracker mod

I wonder if they are putting this extra work into Ark now because they think a lot of the OG players will prefer the original over Ark 2 when it comes out.
it looks like ark2 will not be a "fixed ark1" at all, but an entirely different type of game. so yeah, alot of the current players probably won't like it and stay in ark1.
I afraid so too... I Think ark 2 will have a lot of major changes some of us wont like that much But im Still looking forward to it!

i love how much theyve been improving the story of this game over the past few years. i remember back when I got into this game I found out there was a story and was baffled cuz they didn't ever push it on you at all

Well, I'm not completely sure, but I believe that when it comes to a scientific name, you necessarily need to Latinize the name, hence the dossier's pronunciation, but despite that, Syntac's reaction was really funny đ
You don't need to latinize the name because the name is already Latin. "Gallimimus" means comes from "Galus" which means Rooster and "Mimus" which means Mime. The correct pronunciation is the one used by Helena. The "i" in Latin is never pronounced as "eye", that is an English thing. But like so many others words, it's hard for English speakers to pronounce it like that, so the pronunciation was "Americanized" (or whatever the equivalent for plain English).

Also I just realized technically it would end with a "moos" not "mus".
If Iâm gonna be honest I prefer the Rockwell fight before this update. They removed the monster screams and made it less scary and more like thereâs a grumpy old man talking to you

i am so glad i started playing ark singleplayer dec. 2022. having all the ascensions, pro and epilouges and a basically finished game is just perfect :) am on extinction right now
I think Helena pronounces galimimus like that because sheâs Australian and I know someone whoâs Australian and even without an accent they say mimus like that for pretty much all creatures with that
the English voice for google translate says it like the voice actor so it might not be an accent thing

You're correct in your pronunciation of gallimimus. I googled it. Also, it makes sense that it's pronounced the way you pronounce it because it would need to be spelled with 2 m's to pronounce it the way they do in the video.

Pretty sure you're saying gallimimus correctly. I remember dinosaur documentaries I watched as a kid pronouncing struthiomimus the same way, and if I'm not mistaken the "mimus" in question is from the same root word/meaning for them both.
Hereâs what I think wouldâve been the best ark ending extinction at the end of the alpha king titan fight a cutscene starts the king titan kills all your creatures immediately and the other titans and then right before he kills you a Rockwell almost as big as the king titan falls from the sky and helps you kill the king titan with you in your mech now that would be epic
