Product Review - Replacement LED Headlights on BMW S1000RR by Matt Gecko

  • After years of riding through dark unlit roads in the early mornings to meet with my riding buddies, I finally acquired a set of LED replacement headlights for the BMW S1000RR.
    And the result in comparison to the factory fitted bulb headlights is chalk and cheese. The illumination is fantastic, very good lighting off the sides of the road, and the standout was illumination around the corner on twisty roads.
    Highly recommended.
    These particular LED lights are available from Matt Gecko LEDS at the website below:

    UPDATE ON LIGHT ADJUSTMENT
    I spoke to Matt Gecko about adjusting high beam and he advised that washers can be added to the rear mounts to slightly raise or lower the headlight beams.

      you'll like em :) ... I had to adjust mine with washers to get rid of the gap between high and low beam and I also pulled them out and blackout the part of the lights that was shining back behind the fairing .. now it's mint.

    I reckon it would be great if you could wire up a switch that only enables the DRL’s for day time riding

    Thanks for the review, I just ordered these lights after watching your review, I am in NSW was going to order from hoglights but figured these were the same. I have watched all your reviews on s1000rr, I have just bought a 2018 and love it, still learning things about it. Hope install is easier when the lights arrive, appreciate any tips.

      thats awesome David, I believe you'll be pretty happy with the lighting of these. They're fairly easy to fit after you remove the front fairing. I found it quite intuitive once I worked out which bolts hold it on. Let me know what you think about the lights.

    U know u never said anything about that space between light and fairing plastic. I’m not sure how it fits in your bike because I see you have carbon nose but when I installed these light’s on my bike that space around the light it’s just not a perfect fit and night time u can see a lot of light escaping inside the nose. Hit me up if you come up with some kind of solution, I like your videos.

    • @TheBikeStig
      @TheBikeStig  Před rokem

      I finally fitted all of the Ilmberger Carbon panels, did not have any issues at all with the lights fitting, they dropped in perfectly. But what I did do is paint the sides of the LED lights so the side light did not come through behind the nose panel and it is much better than what it was previously. Hope that helps.
