One of the great things about flying 2G: That you can actually feel the thermals on your skin (or feet)!
But the glide ratio appears to be sub-par :D ;)
You might feel a thermal but all the strongest one will ever do is slow your descent.

That is certainly fun without end. It's just a shame that you can't really get up on the winch with these flying machines and then drop like a stone after releasing them!

I also got my first flight i a 2g (in Skrydstrup. An other gliding club) this year. It was very scary before launch but when i came in the air it was not so bad. I think its even more scary when you just assembled it. its very difficult. Amazing video. Its nice to see more of Denmark from above
I also went from Skrydstrup in Denmark in their 2G. This was way back in the late 90s some time. I was in the front seat which had no avionics, so no real horizon reference as I was used to in the modern gliders. Back seat was equipped though!
I had no idea of our airspeed and the b*****d flying it decided to stall it! Twice! Much poo on the runway below hahaha
I believe the guy might actually still be active in the club to this day all these years on. A damn good pilot, even if he was an arsehat hahaha

@@tonywright8294 Antoine Megens was only joking. The term "controlled crash" is used, at least in Germany, to describe flying gliders with poor glide ratio. Only because of the rapid but controlled descent. Not because any damage has occurred.
So no reason to be abusive. A little more kindness would be greatly appreciated.

I want to draw everyone's attention to something odd in the video. At 2:05 a white object appears a long way away. Within one or two frames it flashes past, just below the glider. Swivelling the view forward shows no sign of it! It must have been travelling at jet aircraft speed, but highly manoeuvrable. UAP? I thought it might have been a bird or a drone at first, but where did it go?
I should add, look at the 5 o'clock position. I now think there were two of them! One is a few hundred meters away.
