The breakfast layout is such a great idea. You can say "my home is your home" all day long, but as a guest, it still always feels intrusive to go through someone's cabinets looking for food! It's just a great way to make your guests feel that much more comfortable. Love it :)
Hey guys!! It's been a crazy few weeks over here! I feel like I keep saying that, but it's been tricky to get into the swing of things with the evacuations, power outages, school closures etc. Luckily I was still able to prepare for our family to come stay with us, and this is my checklist/routine for when they come to visit.
I have been using your tips and my in-laws say they feel so welcome and comfortable and they really appreciate the little things that we do for them. Thank you for your videos. You are an inspiration!
We are buying our first home and I’m so excited to finally be able to do things like this for our guests! I love making people feel happy and welcome when they come over, so I can see myself doing things like this!

I wouldn't dare to take anything. I probably wouldn't even dare to touch the magazines on the sideboard. I don't like when people touch my own stuff, so I'm always asking before I take/use something that belongs to someone else - especially in their own home. :3 (Well, I guess I'm a bit too anxious about that, haha.) I guess no one is expecting you to give them a lot of stuff... most people bring their own things. Maybe they need certain kinds of creams or soaps anyway... (I, for example, need hypoallergenic everything, since I'm allergic to a lot of things that are in body care products...) So maybe they just really need their own stuff sometimes. :D

I like having pillow protectors as well as a mattress cover that is waterproof. I always wait for sales at Kohl’s or other stores to purchase them, but they are a good investment to protect your mattress and pillows. Years ago, I read something that said if you didn’t have a mattress cover, it would invalidate it’s warranty. I took it to heart, but have no idea if it’s true.

haha that's true.. Well, clean sheets and towels at the very least haha. Sometimes they take the stuff in the basket home, sometimes they don't.
