    Seen another video where you can swap the lighting around and have your actual headlights run full time instead of on the bumper lights. Easy and quick swap, make sure you look at where the ground (black) wire is. Looks much better and more realistic. Great video's! Keep them coming!

    • @CapeCrawlers
      @CapeCrawlers  Před 2 lety +2

      Thank you! I might have to try that out. I’m not a big fan of the bumper lights on all the time and would much prefer the headlights for realism

    So far I've done pretty much the same upgrades to my Bronco with similar results. Still fine tuning things, and getting a few parts together. I need to convert to a four link in the front still, and get some different shocks I think. Loving the build so far, fun to follow along with you! Thanks Adam!!

    So far I have done high clearance links, brass wheel weights, brass hexes and steel wheels. It is getting better but still flips pretty easy. Doing Injora/emax steering servo this week as all that weight has destroyed the steering. Also removed the spare and I am going to file off that post.

    I put the high clearance kit on mine and it works great but I put the 58mm on it now and when I’m at full flex my front drive shaft pops out

      @@CapeCrawlers Have you seen the spring mod, Texoma RC made a video on what he's done. Where he basically loops over the last couple of coils of the spring over the collar at each end. You still get articulation, but it helps keep the front down when climbing. At around the 7:00, your front end was lifting so high from those double barrels it's taken alot of the weight off the front wheels as the chassis & body leans back.

    Will the clearance issues with the servo still happen with the bumper mounts from phase 1 or would it be worse?

    • @CapeCrawlers
      @CapeCrawlers  Před rokem

      I use an MIP Thorp driver in 1.3mm and a Dynamite 1.5mm. I orefer the MIP because i can spin it more easily with my fingers which expedites removal and tightening.

    Hello, been enjoying your vids. Today, my daughter decided she wanted to buy a SCX24 and I knew nothing. She knows nothing. But, here I am. :D Are there any videos that show the process of changing out the parts in real time? Also, what tools should I get?

    • @CapeCrawlers
      @CapeCrawlers  Před rokem +1

      I love that your daughter is into it. It's so much fun to share with your kids! For tools, you should get a wheel nut wrench, some strong hobby grade tweezers, need nosed pliers, a 1.3mm and 1.5mm hex driver. A good hex driver set is a smart idea, but those are the two you'll use the most. Get a good lipo battery balance charger. I don't do a lot of live installs, mainly because I am still learning myself and my installs take a LONG time! Check out Matt over at 2FMRC. He does a lot of technical work with live installs.

    The rig is looking great though, have you ever tried limiting straps ?

    • @CapeCrawlers
      @CapeCrawlers  Před 2 lety +1

      LOL! Busted! Color grading would imply I know what I’m doing, which I don’t yet 😂 I use rubber bands for limiting straps currently. I’m still trying to perfect the length and positioning, but I find they work pretty well.

    Take the foams out and see if it helps

    • @CapeCrawlers

      I tried that but felt the sidewalls were too squishy. They stuck out like balloons with no foams.

    • @markgraves9429
      @markgraves9429 Před 2 lety

      I cut the foam to about half the diameter for my Trail kings. There is just enough foam to keep the sidewall standing. Looks like you aired the tire down to climb

    • @CapeCrawlers
      @CapeCrawlers  Před 2 lety +1

    its funny how your concerned with performance but you dont start in the obvious areas like taking all the weight off the top and the back. concerned with performance but more concerned with making it look like the real thing.
