Ganzo firebird is king of budget knives. Never been disappointed.
I love to see how they're doing two-way pocket clips and recessing them and putting a plate and screws in the unused side that's a new advantage and feature to the under $30 knife world.
That is definitely a win!
You guys are soo lucky with all the choices & especially prices of knives in the 🇺🇸 . I love Ganzo knives too and have a few of them. However here in the UK the same Ganzo FH91 is £44.. plus delivery 😵💫 and the knife options available to us here are very limited by comparison 😢

I have the FH 91 Ganzo. The action is really smooth, much better than some that cost 3 or 4 times more. I think Ganzo could use better steel in the near future.
Wouldn't it be something if the upgraded to some more popular steels!
This is exactly what i was going to write. I almost feel bad i keep grabbing it because even the design is cool. But also one thing for me is the lock up is dead solid.
I prefer d2 over 14c28n because of edge retention being better with d2, I never have problems with d2 rusting, and 3!it's not hard for me to sharpen at all on diamond stones. Sharpnel 196 pyramid guide helps a lot. $20 for a 200 grit, 600 grit, and 1000 grit and great angle guide. Sharpens very fast at 20 degree angle. My best knife and knife steel is a Kershaw link in 20cv.

nice picks. the FH91 and FH922 are two of my favs. excellent action, fit, and finish. the 922 even has polished liners. these two are in the 50+ USD league.

Ganzo's cross-bar is one of my favorites. Solid lockup with no lock rock, no lock stick, and their omega springs seem to be less prone to breaking. Great budget beaters.
The cross bar locks I've had come through are really nice, and feel sturdy. They are definitely some good budget beaters!

Completely agree with you on that oversized Ganzo logo placement. The logo behaves more like a large unwanted stain on the blade and spoils what is otherwise a very nice open profile.

I have that last one, it’s definitely worth the $18 I paid for it. It’s a knife you can use in the garden no problem, and not worry about it. The Ontario Rat 1 is definitely better quality, but if you want a Rat with a crossbar lock, there you go.
Ganzo has done some pretty decent knives.

I just recently got 2 ganzo knives…I’m a lefty and when went to switch the pocket clips. They both had the cheapest screws that they immediately stripped out and I was unable to remove them.
I love my FH922 and am tempted by the D727M. Probably hold out for a while though due to budget. The FH91 is also tempting.

I prefer a tip up carry so i am happy with their clip designs, and they do what I think every company should and give a clip plate for the reverse side. Over time having an open hole is going to slowly sand down with the friction of pants, adding the plate hides the divot, keeps it from accumalating dirt, and keeps the visuals pretty. It should just be standard that it exist... now if they could make that peice titatium then you could personalize it to you with annodizations
I have one of the older model Firebirds, FB763 with 440C, axis style. I think I caught it as they were phasing it out and paid like $15 for it. But I got it for a couple different reasons. One was to try axis lock. At that time, I didn’t own any and wasn’t sure I would like them at all. Two, I was curious about 440C. I knew it sucked, but dang I didn’t know how bad till I went to sharpen. lol. But that’ was my “practice” knife while learning to use my Worksharp Precision Adjust Sharpener. Thank God it only cost me $15. 😂😂😂

I'm going to be getting a few Ganzos. I'm not going to pick up the Rat 'homage' because the Rat has lots of aftermarket parts to customize & pimp it out. Plus it's just a few bucks more. I will by clones all day. Just not the Rat.

Except the Ganzo d727m is better than the Ontario Rat 1 in every way:
-D727m has G-10 scales vs the nylon on the Rat 1
-d727m has a G-lock (Axis lock) vs. The liner lock on the Rat. Making the d727m a much safer knife
-Ganzo makes the d727m in d2 and makes the same knife g727m with 440c vs the Aus 8 steel in the Rat1
-edge retention has proven to be better on g727m (440c) in comparison to the Rat 1(Aus8). So edge retention on the d727m (d2) is superior to the Rat 1
-and I can get the d727 like 5$ - $7 less than the rat 1 or i can get the g727m like 10-12$ less than the Rat 1
Yes Ganzo has designed knives that are similiar looking to the Ontario Rat 1 and 2 models but that is literally the ONLY similarity (appearance).
If the Rat1 was actually a superior knife then I would purchase it over the Ganzo d727m. But guess what, Ganzo makes the better knife in the same price range. It is really a no Brainer.

Ganzo the gateway knife to collecting. Just watched a video earlier from Frankie and Bird that featured 3 Ganzos. I know they are fans of them since it gets people into the knife world! Carrying the FB765 (440/axis lock) and the G727M (440/axix lock) in the work pockets today!
