Amazonas (hot!) ... Albert Vossen mit seinen Solisten (Berlin, March 1941 / 4K/ colorized)

Today's video features the Willy Berking composition "Amazonas" - one of the many exotic titles in German big band music from the early 1940s such as "Sahara", "Marokko", "Atlantis", "Pampas", "Sand", "Oase", "Golfstrom" etc... This version was recorded by jazz accordeonist Albert Vossen (1910-1971) who made some excellent recordings for Telefunken in the 1930 and 1940s. The version by Willy Berking himself can be found in my channel : • Swing from Berlin (44)...
The video features sequences from "Kautschuk" which have been restored and upscaled to a 4K resolution. They were then colorized mostly manually and purely for entertainment purposes. The colorization is NOT historically correct but it tries to recreate the warm colors of early Agfacolor movies and does give an impression of what the sets and costumes may have looked like.

The record which is in average condition was transferred using a Graham Slee Revelation M Phono Preamp (bass Turnover 375 Hz - Rolloff 0) in combination with a Klark Teknik Tube Equalizer. The cartridge and stylus used is an Ortofon Om78. Editing was done in Adobe Audition

Eine tolle Zusammenstellung von Dschungelszenen. Die Colorierung ist beeindruckend. Und die Musik gefällt mir sowieso. Vossens wenige Aufnahmen mit Big-Band-Besetzung gehören für mich zu den Höhepunkten Deutscher Swingmusik dieser Epoche. Herzlichen Dank für die gelungene Präsentation!
