I love the timestamps of knives. Well done👏

@@BladeHQ 🗡️
@@BladeHQ You guys are a "knife authority" and can't even spell "Schrade" correctly...Sure.
@@nemezote im sure the editor made a mistake
Yeahhh
He did a good job covering many knifes in a timely fashion.
Would have liked to see more Moraknivs...but yes awesome video
The LMF2 was developed as a standard carry for military pilots. both fixed wing and rotor. The butt is designed to break cockpit plexi windows and the tang does not go completely to the butt so that it can be used to cut through live electrical cords without the user being electrocuted. Its an a outstanding product!
I carried the Becker BK7 on my body armor in Afghanistan and Iraq and never had a single issue. The visible location on the armor also made some “trouble “ go away too. It’s the little things
i made my knife from a truck leaf spring.
it's big, thick, and sharp.
i also made the sheath.
it's my favorite knife.
Oh
Enjoy it you caveman! Me and my Damascus heretic manticore will be right here, whittling away this steel beam into a spear. 😂
I don’t know what it is about that Condor but I absolutely love that one. Sometimes simplicity is perfection.
The Mora 511 is one of the best value things you can buy in your life, regardless of if you're into knives or not.
literally almost everyone in sweden has a morakniv, no one knows how they got them they just do
@@shrimpdynamics4003 I have at least six at home from different years. I haven't bought a single one of them. Some are old with wood handles, some newer with bright red plastic handles. Foreigners have to buy them, but for us swedes they're just a naturally occuring part of the fauna.
I have a few, one hangs out in kitchen and gets used daily
As a former military leader and amateur bushcrafter, I would never give up my Winkler. I own two so far. I own hundreds of knives and my Winker is my favorite.
I hear ya Bro! My 2 favorite blades are my WINKLER UTILITY CRUSHER with sculpted maple, and my WINKLER belt knife black micarta . I can get them razor sharp with my WORKSHARP precision adjust. I am a MARINE and a multiple war veteran and I wish I had a WINKLER on active duty. I train MMA ,and BJJ ,and after class we fight with kydex knives , and really go at it. I learned a lot. CHEERS Brothers and sisters of the blade!!!!!!!
I still have my Winkler from my military career. My squadron was also gifted custom combat hatchets as well. It will be the very last knife you’ll ever need. Think of the price you pay as you paying for a whole bunch of knives all at once.
little late to the party, but as a custom knife maker, 80CRv2 is my absolute favorite steel that I've worked with. An absolute workhorse
That's the metal that Spyderco uses on the bow knives right?
Your extensive knowledge shows throughout this video. Well done, and I hope you keep up this season of Knife Banter for many Knives to come.
Well when you do nothing else you tend to get good at it
I own a lot of knives, but I'm new to this community. I started life as a sushi chef at 18 and so naturally got into blade quality at an early age.
yo my name is luke too! and i also got into knives and working for a sushi resturant lmao
Y’all should meet up at Lüke seafood restaurant in New Orleans sometime
Here’s a good idea. Instead of flipping the paper over to something else, y’all should cut the paper in half with the knife your showing 🤷♂️
Why? What does that prove, it can cut paper? Major selling point, 😂
@@TheRoadhammer379 it’s just cool...........
YES 👌🏻
@@TheRoadhammer379 it would show that the knife comes moderately sharp out the box. Before you say all of them are that sharp they aren’t.
But a crappy knife yhats been sharpened can cut paper.
Really like all the knowledge zac had in this episode. I like how he explained the steels and had some info about them. The inly thing i would say is just call it a high flat grind
Got the thumbs up from me for the lmf II one of my all time favorites especially in the asek edition with the belt utter in its own molle sheath... Not to forget the sharpener integrated in the main sheath!
I noticed quite a few of the knives in this video were comment suggestions from the last fixed blade video, great job blade hq at listening to what the people wanna see.
I watched this 8 times. Still not tired.
Don't let the price fool you. Morakniv's are awesome. I have a bunch of them and I beat the crap out of them. They've never broken or chipped and they are sharp.
This has got to be one of the best Knife reviews I've seen. Great video.👍👍
LOVE my Condor Low Drag, amazing comfort and function and has it in the looks dept. too.
One aspect that you forgot to mention about the Mora knife and sheath color is that the loud color or colors is so if dropped especially in the snow it is easy to find.
Great presentation and a good selection of fixed blades from across price points. I own a handful of the blades you presented and you represented them correctly I felt. Also appreciate the time stamps so I could jump ahead if I wasn't interested in a particular blade.
Please don't take it personally, but the Schrade and the Cold steel SRK don't have flat grinds. They have hollow ground blades with a secondary V-edge. The Spyderco bow river has a flat ground blade with a secondary V-edge. That might seem like a knife-nut observation, but the difference in use is tremendous. Good video, by the way!
They switched up the grind on the srk, its flat. Used to be hollow.
@@cooperman7710 The one he's showing is a hollow grind.
@@cooperman7710 Indeed, and that is a great improvement! The one in the video appears to be hollow ground, though. Anyways, my preference for fixed blades is a convex grind. Even on folders, I've "convexified" my Spyderco enduras ;)
And the bushlore has a Scandinavia grind.
So the grind depends on the steel guys. The SK5 cheapo is hollow grind obviously. The good stuff, now made in Italy is flat grind.
My edc includes 2 fixed blades the crkt minimalists around my neck and the crkt mossback hunter when I wear boots I slide a small no name gas station knife in there too
Where do you keep your nunchucks?
The Mora 511 is an unbelievably great deal..I went through many fixed blades looking a nicer knife with micarta or G-10 scales that performed as good as the 511 and it wasn’t easy..I eventually replaced my trusty ole 511 with great knives like the ESEE 3 and Bradford Guardian 4 but I can’t recommend that 511 enough for anyone looking for a good very affordable belt knife
Fällkniven F1 is the survival knife for the Swedish airforce fighter pilots.
Yeah it’s awesome
I've been crushing on that bk2 for a while now. It's so beautiful. Need that in my collection.
You guys are my favorite to purchase my knives from! Great employees, and neighbors to where I live(Idaho)! Never had an issue, and customer service responds quickly! Have turned a lot of friends onto you guys!😁
I tend to carry a fixed blade when it starts to get cold out, easy to handle and zero fuss.
I'm loving that Condor
Please do a video with nothing but tanto blades! I'm 37 years old and have been a collector and avid user of knives my entire life. I always shied away from the condo blades, thinking they weren't really usable. Now, that's all I collect. I work heavy construction. Can do everything. Concrete, framing, roofing, siding, steel buildings, seamless. You name it. And you can get bet I carry a knife on me. We are always opening up pallets and shipped boxes with our material in it. Over the past few years I've grown a liking to the tanto fixed blades. Anyway, great videos! Keep up the good work!
The squeeky chair is making me go crazy!! Lmaooo
Really well done video. Lots of cool blades. I had always assumed the BK2 was a saber grind and I had to fact check your claim of flat grind. Of course you were right on.
That Winklers a best buy for the money. That is craftsmanship! What a gorgeous blade. Again. That's a fighter. With the high carbon content. She'll be useful for a good long time in the field. That would be an EDC for me..
That Winkler is beautiful. I liked the looks and the steel being tough as nails, but still easier to sharpen. I still lie the 1095 carbon. Very sharp, take a tree limb or an arm, and at my age I don't travel far anymore, knives ate more for defense and to pass on when I do.
I really would love to have that winkler, will have to save for it though. But I would rather pay more for something that will last.
@@alexandercarder2281 get a WINKLER if you can . They sharpen up so incredibly sharp, and last pretty good. The sculpted maple or walnut is incredible it puts such a secure grip in your hand.
Navy SEALS , and Daniel WINKLER created most of his blades together. If they are good enough for a SEAL they are good enough for me. My neighbor is a navy SEAL and he is the one who told me WINKLERS are the best! CHEERS BROTHERS AND SISTERS OF THE BLADE!!!!!!!
@@sunbunbradley I’m trying to sell my mora collection and strong arm but have no idea where to go, any tips?
I sold Cutco cutlery coming out of high school and happened to win a Kabar in a sales contest we had. American made.
I just want to notice, this was a great presentation. Maybe not as playful and joyful as usual (may be because of working alone in friont of camera, hope it's not heath issues), but very solid and informative.
Good job, Zac! I believe every knife company would be happy to have you as host/product manager.
Thank you so much for making one of these videos. I've been looking at some fixed blades for a while. Maybe I can make a decision now.
I use the minimalists cleaver as one of my edc's, great knife and it's surprisingly good at penetration with the corner tip
"Hope this video helped you out and made you want to buy something"
Me who was and is completely sold and bought 3 of those knifes
Great video. As a heavy bark river 3V user I usually go out for a week at a time. With heavy use I find 3V easy to keep up. All you need is a cheap ceramic rod with a leather strop. I make sure to load my strop with a diamond paste .5 micron. You need a diamond cutting compound for super steals. The standard polishing compound takes longer and may not work. I do this only as a maintenance. I found that a few swipes after a few uses and it keeps razer sharp. I also use Esees quite a bit and love them, however, I have noticed the edges roll more with wood use and need sharpening more. With 1095 expect to care for rusting and sharpening more. But it is an excellent budget tough steel. I use 3V but if cost is the issue you will be well served with an Esee. I have broken too many S35VN to every own one again. Glad to see a video that actually covers the full range of knives.
I have the ease 4. Only thing I changed was the belt clip. I wear the 4 in the small of my back and since they don’t offer a clip for that, I made one myself out of leather. I love it. And stays very hidden
Bark River Bravo1 in 3V is my go to, if i could only have one knife "my precious", would bet my life on blade. I own the lion steel m4 too. its great!
My favorite show on youtube! Cant beat Knife Banter!
So funny story spartan blades store is right down the road from my house they bought out a old restaurant and I’ve went past the building a thousand times and my wife asked one day is that a knife store and I legit had been told and thoroughly believed it was some kind of high end restaurant 😅😂🤷🏼♂️ just found out a. Few weeks ago it’s a knife manufacturer and I’m ready to go to the store and shop haha
Props on the time stamps! coincidentally I was sharpening my Izula 2 when I came across this on my home screen.
It's so crazy how much the prices in these knives have changed in 2yrs. Great video, Zach is the man🤙🏼
BidenOmics😂
LionSteel M4 is a must. I already have the T5. Original SOG Seal Pup with the nylon sheath is the best, able to choke up on the blade compared to the newer versions.
TRC Mille Cuori and South Pole - Spartan Harsey Difensa - Fobos Legion - Chris Reeve knives Pacific - Ka-Bar Mark 1 Kraton - Ka-Bar BK7 - Ka-Bar USMC 1211 - Tops HOG 4.5 -
LT Wright Genesis Flat grind - Fallkniven F1,S1,A1 - Fallkniven Pro or S1xb - Bark River Bravo 1LT or Gunny or 1,25 - Lionsteel M4 micarta - Terävä Jääkäripuukko 110 or 140 or Skrama - RMJ Tactical Combat Africa - Morakniv Bushcraft Black,Companion,Kansbol....are some of the best, if not the BEST production and semicustom knives out there!!!
I thought he was going to say "get the most bang for your.....Buck" 10:45
I have a CRKT Minimalist Drop Point, and carry it most every day. Very handy little knife, and it is amazing how often I reach for it for some routine cutting task.
I watched the whole video and read way down in the comments! I miss talking about fixed blades ( my favorite) and this show gave me a little back! I'd say the top value in the show was the LionSteel M4. It's beautiful in person from the sheath to the blade to the micarta. It's inexensive and offers top tier quality steel! I'd love to have an LT Wright!!! Whoo!!!
One note to add about the Bark River... They DO make Micarta handle options in matte (non-polished) handles. Not to mention many MANY other awesome handle options.
I really love the show.. i have learned and enjoyed the show and it proves your never too old to learn new stuff.. ty
Great content guys! Keep up the great work 👍
Always a great presentation you guys put out.
Just had this video come up in my feed.
Great discussion of some great knives.
I’m a TOPS Knives guy. The PLT is a great knife. Love my Brakimo too. Most of my TOPS collection are bigger blades. The Armageddon is my favorite knife of any maker.
The only Bark River knife I own is the JBA. I got in when it was just a concept, and have one of the prototypes. A great knife to bet your life on.
Thanks for the smile I got watching this video.
😎👍🏼👍🏼🇺🇸
My first serious knife buy was a CRKT 🙌 the squid to be specific. Has always been handy for work or camping needs!
Bark River Gunny. LT Wright. Falkniven F1. Lionsteel M4. Winkler are the BEST 5 on that table.
I soooo want your job! It would be heaven to work with all these great knives all day. Thanks for the video!
Thanks guys, I'd love to see the L.T. Wright Northern Hunter on the table some time.
That spyderco bow river is absolutely beautiful 😍. Such a great price too.
For my limited use, my Condor Kephart and Schrade SCHF36 have been good knives at low cost. I really want that ESEE-6 though. I really enjoy these videos, don't get all the cranky comments.
I run a falkniven f1 and I love it. I highly recommend the knife. I use it as a camp, bush craft, outdoor knife and it works great.
By the way, the F1, within its factory sheath, fits nicely into a Brooks Bros. suit pants pocket.
@@bdcochran01 I read about that, in Forbs.
I've beat the mess out of the Condor Bushlore (hammering away at it to split smaller pieces of wood) and its held up nicely.
Thanks for a very interesting video. Particularly liked your descriptions of the steels.
Just got the Bradford guardian 3 and it hasn't left my side. It's everything I wanted in a fix blade. Great recommendation
fixed
Well done, informative review. I like all knives, but fixed blades are my passion. I have many Cold Steel solutions, but I also own many other brands & styles. Some of the high end blades definitely caught my attention. I would have loved to work in a store like yours in my younger years, but at 70, I probably would have been broke at retirement time!!!
Excellent presentation Zac, felt really chilled out this week. Always good to mix up the styles. Lovely knives too with some nice insightful commentary thank you very much, respect 👊
Man you guys to a top Noch job in explaining knives! 🔪🙌🏽😎👏🏽👏🏽
I have a Winkler Crusher Belt knife, and it does not disappoint, even though i had to save for a while to buy it, being a 14 year old knife nut 😂
The spyderco Bow River sheath lasted two days of field use for me (was a secondary fixed blade). Maybe I got an flawed sheath. The grip was slick applied skateboard deck tape prior.
Nice to se a Swedish classic knife that has been around for more than a decade. omg not one but TWO Swedish made knifes in ONE banter this is unexpected, im amazed that my home country have both low and high end knifes.
YESSSS I love fixed blades!!! also everything else (specifically everything that isn't a single-edged fixed blade knife) greater than 3 in. long and .5 in wide is illegal where I live!
I have the mora 511 and its really enough I have never felt the need to change it with another knife.
TOPS - People seem to not know a lot about Tops. This model or simillar, but the bigger brother - Perfection!
No SRK no Gerber no Ka-Bar comes close to this piece. Ontario/ESEE yeah cool, but thick as hell! Tops is just a WIDE blade what allows for having both tough and beautifly cutting machine. And guess what it works also as a small chopper and works perfect. What a knife. Yes. Its better than Falkniven. Its just as good as Mora. Period.
Other close competitor for Tops yet not in production now is Zero Tolerance 0170. I do recomend to skeletonize the tang of it since its too tang heavy piece. Then it becomes..Perfect!
Well I have an old K-Bar short fighting knife from when I was on active duty. I also have a Spanish Bush craft knife I picked up in Germany it is a CJul Herbert Z from about 20 years ago with rose wood handles. It is great for camping and field craft. Then again I use a small axe when I process wood.
I got the Gerber LMF 2. My only gripes are the serrations, handle size and the sheath. The Strongarm is the perfect field knife while based on the LM2 series.
23:20 The wide back of this knife will let you know that it is very strong, excellent
Don’t forget to pick up the micarta scales for that Becker, it really makes a difference.
Outstanding video. Timestamps are a superb addition. Thankyou!
I love big knives and I can not lie. I carry a White River FC7 when I am out in the woods, and I’d carry William Wallace’s sword as my EDC if I could! 🤘🏻😜🤘🏻
I have several of those, But I must admit, that Lion steel looks pretty sweet and after a quick check there are multiple options
That mini cleaver tho!! Awesomeness🤘🏻🤘🏻
I own a Shrade survival knife. One thing I can appreciate about the Shrade knife company is the fact that you get a lot of knife and they don't kill your pockets.
NOW we talkin'!!! I have all the Minimalists, but I have a bunch of those in my wish list. I also still want to see the Berus and Koi in some similarly-sized Hams at some point too. #FixedBlade #KnifeLife
That Spartan and Winkler were my top picks this episode. Such quality knives.
I love the look of the QSP. If it holds an edge it will be very nice. Looks like the benchmade hidden canyon
gotta have a becker or esee in case you wanna treat it like you stole it. I got the bk2, it's just as good as a trowel or hammer as a knife, and I love it. Get aftermarket scales though!
great lineup. some of those fix blades look awesome. some you can't beat the price. great show today. thanks. I normally only carry neck knife fix blades. le duck, 😆
I wish the Spyderco BowRiver came in a higher quality steel..I have been considering picking one up for a while and I still might..Ive yet to buy a Spyderco fixed blade..I ordered a S110V PM2 the other day but I kind of wish I would’ve spent about $10-$15 more and ordered the Bradley Bowie+Endura combo
Bought a ABKT Elite Shadow Predator from you guys and have not been disappointed. I carry it horizontal inline with my belt buckle.
Benchmade Bushcrafter is my fav fixed blade. Thinking about getting the Spyderco Waterway next.
The bk2 is a beast. I've had mine for 15 years. Get the micarta scales for it.
I bought 2 BK2 blanks. I gifted one and kept the other. That was like 15 years ago. Still haven't brought myself to slap some handle scales on it and bend some Kydex for it. It is a boat anchor, no way arround it. If I ever get to do it, I bet you I will be skeletonizing the handle area (+glued and pinned home made micarta scales), otherwise i will become way to heavy. Thick overall geometry does not help either. I may even try to regrind it full flat. I am glad you like yours as is (minus the scale swap) but... what do you do with it?
I love my bk2. Wish I had gotten the kydex but misclicked and got the shitty cloth.
I live in NC and just ordered a knife from Winkler. Am excited to get one in hand (in 4-6 weeks) lol Glad to get your input.(although that is not the one i ordered.)
Great presentation! Love the price choices!
I absolutely love the Damascus with the tan micarta
Awesome vid I have the Morakaniv 511 it’s amazing and came so sharp
Great video, more fixed blades, different size blades!
The esee 6 is a great knife, but doesn't even come close to the esee 5! Absolute tank of a knife! I don't go into the woods without it!
1/4 inch stock is dumb for a 5 inch knife. The Esee 6 at 3/16 is a far better user. 1/4 inch stock is better as a crowbar than a knife.
the Guardian design takes the top spot for me, those materials seem to be something built to last basically "forever". The Spartan seemed like it wants to jump off the table and stab bad guys. I am betting you would buy that Schrade as a bang around knife for camping and your fancy Bark River knife would never leave it's sheath, while the Schrade got worked like a rented mule. Funny Zac likes the Kershaw Camp design, I was considering getting that model for my lady as her camping knife, Kershaw should release it in Pink and Lavender scales with a "muddy girl" Kydex sheath, it's a beautiful knife.
