Code 3 XL5000 Lightbars, Which One Is Better?

A look at two similar, but also very different XL5000s. One has 6 rotators and 3 stingers, the other has 5 total rotators and 2 stingers. Both use high speed rotators in the center, but the bar with the full size fast rotators isn't technically factory. While fast "full height" rotators were an option, these were made with 9v motors (Federal Style) instead of changing the gears (Code 3 Style). The Fast rotator (LP 6000 model) in the center of the other bar is a factory option, Code 3 preferred to use the smaller LP rotators for high speed applications and it was necessary under clear domes as Code 3 wouldn't put rotators directly on fast rotators (half cylinders were the only option).
Regardless, both are aimed from ambulances and only "face to the front" so rear warning isn't a factor.

Clear domes w/filters seem to have more of a dark orange look vs true red. Likely due to the filters allowing some white light around the edges.

True, less amber and more "white show through" in person. They also wash out against the clear more than the solid domes. I like the look of clear domes, but from a performance standpoint Code 3 offered enough dome cutouts and half colors for the XL that solid was probably better.

Until they yellow due to UV light from the sun

In the real world that was all too fast with these. Mine is safe inside but did in fact come with yellowed domes I replaced.
