lol got to hand it to you barnesy, you not going to let it anything beat you..just about every head light sw. from all makes and models pull apart the same way, I remember working that one out, before google was around (frustrating), now days I google the shit out of everything the night before if i haven't done it before. Give you a pointer with spot welds for the future, invest in a air chisel with a sharp blade, drill all the spot welds best and as quick as you can then just rip into it with the air chisel, and bust it apart, you will work it out, the damage you will do is quick and easily repaired with a hammer and dolly, little bit of practice you will see what i mean. so much quicker, i let the chisel find the spot welds i have missed, and if it doesn't bust apart then i drill it.
Cheers mate, yeah I'm going to see this thing through to the end rain hail or shine. Been so busy with work and moving into the new she'd it's been over a month since I've worked on her. However I have some new tools ordered and delivered that are going to take it to the next level.
Good vid I’ve done it twice, about to do it a 3rd time. AND NOT a panel beater!!!!!! Sucker or what!! Just love the damn things. Tried to give em up but nahhh they’ve hooked me good and proper….🤦♂️🤦♂️
Hey Barnsey, What size drill bit did you find to work best on the spot welds? Also looking back on things would you have done anything different? Cheers mate
Hey mate, there are 2 sizes, I find you can start with a small size to get a start on it without the drill wandering as much, then widen it with the bigger spot drill size. They are standard sizes as far as I know as spot welds are all the same sizes basically. I would get the whole vehicle sandblasted and etched straight away and put it on a rotisserie asap afterwards if not before so it faster to blast. It's an outlay but would shave months off your build.
@@BarnesysBuilds Cheers mate, Im only chipping away at mine so happy to strip as I go. Your on the money with the rotisserie! would be great to work with.
Rewatching this EP for some motivation to remove my plenum cowl off the HQ.....
Ha, yes it's a hard bloody dirty job.
Looking good mate! Lots of work, but will be very rewarding once shes on the road again!
Great work and a great private place to do the work
Jim Clarke makes a huge difference with noise levels and not annoying neighbors that's for sure.
