    I wish I could find a video excerpt of the school board meeting scene in which the unconsciously, but unmistakably racist Anglo woman yells at Pena (the schoolteacher) for teaching a more full and truthful account of the complexity of border history...

      I think describing it as 'unconsciously' is being extraordinarily kind. I don't think there's anything unconscious or subconscious about it.
