Are you frustrated because you want to read as much as you can but you can never find the time to pick up a book? I noticed as I got older and busier that I was reading less and less every year. Audible was an absolute game changer! This is the third lecture in the Cognitive Neuroscience course. Take a tour through the various tools and methods that cognitive neuroscientists use to explore the way that the brain and nervous system work. Lesion studies, tools to create artificial lesions (TMS, tDCs, tACS), tools that measure electrical activity (EEG, ECOG, MEG, single and multiunit recording) and tools that measure metabolic activity to infer function (PET and MRI). MRI is focused on more intently than the other methods because it is the most widely used tool that cognitive neuroscientists use (T1 structural scans, T2* functional scans, resting state, DTI). - Věda a technologie

Thanks for the Upload! Great Lecture! I am currently writing my Thesis on Neuronal-Oscillations and Attention. I wonder if you could provide me a source for the tACS implication you mentioned where they try to induce Theta-Band Oscillations to reach a similar, and hopefully curing, Mental-State to Meditaion.

Hey Simon, I'm really glad you liked the lecture! Here are 2 citations I had on hand that may help you. One of them is a followup to some findings of increased myelination after inducing theta in rats where they used tACS in humans to try to mimic the effect. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7701373/ The other one shows increased theta during tasks after meditation without using tACS.
