SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA - Today we’re going to Seoul’s meat market to eat some of the best beef on earth - Korean Hanwoo beef. And at this restaurant they specialize in water aged beef for 2 weeks and you grill it all at your own table. Let’s go eat some of the best Korean beef bbq!
We tried a couple of different parts of Hanwoo beef including the ribeye, oyster blade, and flank. They each had a different taste and texture. We also tried water aged and not aged. Water aged beef doesn’t give the beef a strong taste like dry aging, but it does enhance the flavor slightly.
Restaurant name: Insaeng Hanwoo (인생한우), Seoul, South Korea (maps.app.goo.gl/PHAiTQLJ4yWeD...)
Price: 320,000 KRW ($239.58 USD) for all of the beef
Thank you to KTO (Korea Tourism Organization) for sponsoring and making my trip to South Korea happen!

Hanwoo beef is so unknown but definitely the best beef on earth
I'm Korean-American, but don't like Hanwoo. I know a lot of Korean-Americans that don't. It has a very off-putting odor and after-taste.
Im korean american and Hanwoo is by far the better than any other beef I've tried. Wagyu included.@@krnpowr
@@krnpowrWhere did you go to eat Hanwoo? If you went to Majang Meat Market you wouldn’t have had that experience.
@oceanrocks a handful of places. I purchased it from grocery stores a couple times. The aroma is very off-putting
@krnpowr Hanwoo is banned from export so I find that hard to believe
Tasted Hanwoo Beef in Seoul and it melts in my mouth. Really good quality beef.
Glad you loved it too!
I like that Korean food is entertaining. From the communal grilling to the bon chon to the drinking games etc - having Korean BBQ is a feast for the senses.
Banchan(o) bonchon(x)
So delight and happiness on your face. Thank you very much for introducing Korean beef, Han-Woo which is not well known in the world. Korean beef has definitely tender texture, flavor, yet not over-marveled or that fatty. It presents you insane goodness to your mouth. Thank you Mark!
Thank you very much, I agree, I think hanwoo is some of the best in the world!
We appreciate Mark's dedication and hard work. He truly loves what he does.
Bot. You always posting the same on every video

Korean BBQ is so good when done right….this is Korean BBQ at the highest level 🎉.
Enjoyed this video so much.. Hanwoo is simply the best beef on earth..it will make your Korea visit so special (Hanwoo is sold only in Korea)
downgraded version of Wagyu
all the reviews i have seen say its better than wagyu @@DisingenuousComment
@@n9ne 🤣
@@DisingenuousCommentlol stupid tiny japanese lolololol Japanese are so funny look at unit 731
they are very creative lolololol
@@DisingenuousCommentAustralian Wagyu is the best in the world, but Japanese Wagyu is of low quality with only a lot of oil.
I've lost count of the number of Korean BBQ videos I have seen in recent years, but have yet to experience it myself. Looks amazing.
Me and my GF are going to Korea next year just for their food. Korean food in North America is ok but quite a few of them are operated by Chinese people and obviously it's not the same at all...
Eating Korean food in Korea is just.. on another level. We still talk about it even after 5 years since we went lol
It's so much more amazing even compared to, say, cooking a perfect medium-rare steak at home alone with all the sides you like. I think the communal experience of eating a splurge-y once-a-month meal with friends/family and alcohol (as seen in this video lmao) makes for a great experience. Have you looked up any KBBQ restaurants in your area?
@@anthonylim2428 It's quite common for ethnic food to be toned down or adjusted as a result of availability of ingredients, also yes, in the UK we sometimes find 'Asian' take aways, that mainly to Chinese, but then also have a Thai menu too. Often Thai food here is pretty close to what I have experienced in Thailand, but I would say the most authentic experience has been there in the country of origin.
I am not aware of any Korean food here in the UK, other than a sushi chain that has 'korean spicy chicken' but that's hardly the same.
@@nom928 not aware of any Korean food here in the UK. Lots and lots of other ethnic food, but Korean isn't.
In terms of communal cooking/eating, fondu is something I grew up with, the meat is fried in a central pot with skewers; also in Belgium a restaurant had a hot stone on the table on which the food was cooked by diners; then also there is a raclette, a grill on a table, and I also like the Thai style bbq, which has a hot pot with stock around the outside and a metal covered grill in the middle.
I agree, I think communal eating is a great experience, and also often a great way to try many different dishes too.
Korean hanwoo beef is magical.
This has been my most favorite episode from this country. Such wonderful company you had this night. Thank you for sharing that experience with us!
Pride of Korea😂❤ Jeffrey was very hospitable ❤❤❤ it was a good show to watch!

That drink trick was just amazing

👍😋🌶️🍖🍛🍲🍝🍻
Wow that Food Looks So Delicious 😋
너무너무 맛있어 보입니다!!
Love your vids Mark❤
Less then $240 dollars for all those water aged Hanwoo steaks is a really good deal. Enough water aged steaks to feed 8-10 people for less then $240 dollars seems cheap. A normal regular steak for one person here in the U.S. at a fine dining restaurant is between $35 to $60 dollars.
It's a gimmick, as it's sealed in plastic and not being cooked? So, they'd be better off dry aging it, exposed in a fridge instead? But it would cost the restaurant more, as it weighs less, but it concentrates the flavour, and speeds up the aging as it's exposed to the air. Mmmmm,. Water aged sounds silly to me.
Yes, I think especially with a group of friends / family, the value for money is fantastic.
Favorite episode in your Korean series! I am salivating thinking about Hanwoo
Mark, you make me hungry. Wow, the beef looks so good, yummy
Thank you!
One of my top 10 video for sure. Not only one my fav food but the people and vibe is so fun. Plzz the drinking party tricks.
Korean barbecue is really delicious! There are many ways to eat it, but I'm so happy that you enjoy it😄😁😆😆

My favourite 🎉
Love your videos keep them under 20min

@@paigelauryn4328 so do I but when you live in a third world country where you make 12$a day and you pay 5$ per video it gets expensive that's a 30min video

Back at you
Lmao, the somaek performance was top notch
Flap tail = arteries clogging! Thank you Mark for another amazing video!
This is another newish website for you Mark! You certainly have done a super job promoting yourself! Now that you're a VIP the local tourist boards pick up the tab, nice. The KTO's people also get a chance to eat on-the-house as well. Along with your wife I saw 4 of them enjoying the special steaks! Look at $240 for the Hanwoo beef it's a super deal!
Korean BBQ is top-notch and in Manhattan NY you would pay at least that much for steaks that are not Hanwoo quality!
Majang market is a great affordable place to have some Hanwoo
Yummy
Not sure why I am asking this but, if you haven't been to a hot pot restaurant, you need to go. It's one of my favorite dining experiences. Vancouver BC is a great place to visit and try all the wonderful Asian food, and go to China Town there, only second to San franciscos, and cowloons... Lol😊
Best beef I ever had in my life was in Seoul, coming from America, with all our steakhouses, that says a lot!
Did you eat at Majang Meat Market?
Beef steak is very delicious 🤤🤤
Looks so yummy 🍽😋
WOW 😋😋😋
The garlic shot! lol
I really want to taste the food
Every food video: INSANE country thing.
The actual country: standard everyday food😂
That young guy with glasses is so cute 🥹 looks so shy.. looks straight from comic book
This is the climax of his Korean barbecue tour.

I kind of wish he explained more what water aging does to the beef. 🤔

I really pray it doesn't turn out like wagyu did.. such a beautiful product that needs to be kept in seoul.
Who else watched the drinking game in slow mo?
I just want to jump into my iPad to Korea
