You can't recoup the costs of the ships purchased such as, if they jump out or are not destroyed at the end of the game? Seems like the game doesn't take into account any previous investments of ships from earlier scenarios but I could be wrong. If not, the whole one-and-done purchase does fit into the "Robocop" technology business model of not really caring about anything except the bottom line.
That’s right. I tried for nearly a year to make a “refund for returned ships” mechanic work, but for a variety of gameplay and (frankly) economic complexity reasons, I couldn’t get it to work.
