Chris Mckie, Unboxing my Formula Vee, 82 Spectre, First start in 12 year

How I do my first engine checks & fire up after an engine has been sitting for many years, I don’t just crank it with the starter in case things have gotten stuck from sitting, I also oiled the engine at the last start so I’m hoping the cylinder are not corroded, time will tell, remember, this engine hasn’t been started in 12 years.

I did not realize these things are basically go carts with a VW motor. Always thought they were a little more complicated than that

They have a similar ground clearance & a much bigger foot print than a go cart, also have more suspension adjustment, quite affordable to get into & maintain, strictly regulated to emphasise driver skill, many great drivers stated in Vee’s & a lot of drivers come from go carting as the next step in their careers, very enjoyable to drive, I had forgotten how much I enjoyed driving the Spectre, very different to driving my Falcon
