Felt bad that you faced so much while buying a car..I am 28 years & I am from Kolkata,recently booked my car, luckily I got a healthy bunch of people who helped me in & out through the entire process of booking the car.
Even I didn't had fair amount of knowledge of cars but they took all the responsibility of explaining me from the scratch about the car.
So I feel there is an issue with the place not being a woman, please take no offence.
I just felt like sharing my part.
I am glad you did not have to go through all this. But honestly when i shared my experience on Instagram I got so many messages all over Indian stating that they've faced the exact problem. Maybe it's luck

I think the cost of your house should not be more than 5 times your annual salary (heard it in a financial advise podcast by a CA). The thumb rule for car was of not spending more than half of your annual income on a new car. For instance, if an individual earns Rs 10 lakh per annum, the ideal budget for the vehicle would be Rs. 5 lakhs. 35 lakhs car for a 7 lakhs annual income is way out of budget in my opinion.
