The series didn't address much about him, so why not give that up and join this amazing series? btw I'm also a huge fan of Matthew Goode and so sad that he has to give up Downton Abbey.
I just made a comment above before I read yours. I think his performance is amazing and that it should at least get him an Emmy nomination if not the award. I don't think any U.S native could have done a better job.

Dan Fogler as Francis Ford Coppola is such an unexpected casting due to him being a comedic actor but nevertheless, I'm sure he will do a great job. He even looks like him, always been fascinated by comedic actors in doing serious roles

I remember this clearly how my friend Hemang Vardhan introduced me to this wonderful trilogy. That was a gateway towards extraordinary cinema and I am thankful to him. We used to recite The Godfather dialogues and I would keenly listen to the scenes he would describe frame by frame. He is in Canada these days and I still cherish my old days with him.

I watched the entire limited series. I give it an enthusiastic thumbs up. I was absolutely captivated by this cast. The temptation to sing the praises of the performances of the cast would distract from my objective. Enough to say, It was stellar. No complaints. I would add that Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu could use a Bob Evans, Albert Ruddy, and Bettye McCartt. They loved the movies so much, they did what was necessary to make it happen regardless of the pain and tears. Mr. Evans hit a rough patch, really bad. Al and company pushed him to realize his old love was still there, not Ali. He (Bob Evans) got his premiere, "The Godfather". Like all great things, it was a team effort that made it possible. Great Watch!!!!

Had to find somewhere to express what I feel about Matthew Goode's performance as Robert Evans. He's a Brit and he's absolutely knocked it out of the park with his portrayal. The whole cast is good, but Goode is Goooood! He has to get an Emmy for this surely.

I'm 9 episodes into this, and it is SO much better than I thought it would be! This is a MUST SEE for any Godfather fan! Can't wait for episode 10 to drop. So much about the making of this film that I had no idea about. The actors are great in this. Update: I now have 1 episode to go. A MUST watch for any Godfather fan!!!

I agree. So much better than I thought it would be. Just finished binge-watching the entire series. I was up til 10AM, couldn't stop watching. It was absolutely riveting. I got chills when Coppola had all the principles sit down for that dinner and they all started acting in character. So much to love in this series. What a gem.

I did not expect to enjoy this, I was writing as usual, and my mom put it on tv, and in a matter of minutes, I actually stopped writing for two days to watch it till the end! I absolutely loved it! Yet another Inspiring Series!
Started watching one night thinking we’d only do a couple episodes but couldn’t stop until it was far too late to go to bed. loved the ‘family’ dinner scene where all the actors became their characters. Awesome show and music too!
What a cast!!. Can't wait to see this. The Godfather is in nearly everyones top ten films of all time.

After 6 episodes of the series, I can say, they did not create the Godfather, they lived in it.
This show was fabulous. I couldn't stop watching it. Miles Teller was out of this world and the rest of the cast, sets, dialogue, everything, combined to tell a riveting tale.
one thing that does amaze me in all the talk of this movie and The Offer is that no where, including The Offer, does anyone say a thing about the musical score and that haunting theme. It' s famous, there is no one who doesnt know, if they hear it, that that is the theme to The Godfather, and also its a contrast to what we expect - romantic and haunting for a movie of gangsters and violence. But no one said a word about it.
GUYS!!!! i figured it out, the Bob Evans character was a real person that was also featured in the series Entourage, that is also about Hollywood and making movies. But in Entourage he is 30 years older and a has been Hollywood big shot. He is the old guy in Aris waiting room that bothers other actors and says " what would you say if i told you " and "would that be something you would be interested in?" all the time
The most important thing for me about the "Offer" TV series is that it proves that a great director necessarily means a great movie. If Coppola had submitted to the producers, he would not have been able to present the greatest movie in the history of Cinema . (with applogies to Slozzo and McCluskey)

Still, now you understand why Once upon a Time in America 1984 is a far superior movie.
Only show I’ve ever watched where I’m angry at the end because it’s over. Wonderful.
Then that means it’s a bad ending and all the other shows had good endings. A good ending does the opposite and makes you feel content with every characters’ ending and should answer every question you had.
Just watched the first 3 episodes,it's fantastic. This is going to launch Tellers career,he's excellent. He's all grown up.

The "professional" critics have really blown it on this one. Nearly everything in this show is absolutely brilliant. I think I'm totally finished paying attention to "professional" reviewers after this.
Don’t believe anything rotten tomatoes says anymore. They were purchased by Comcast a few years back which is nbc/fandango. It’s nbc vs cbs. Rotten tomatoes is at most a suggestion.
I love this series! What I am surprised of is that it didn't get more award recognition. Especially Matthew Good, with a career best performance!
This one kept me in my sofa for the full 10 hour binge sitting.

This trailer is going to be THE REASON everyone signs up for Paramount +. This whole campaign feels like some sort of Inception-level double entendre. Well done !

Matthew Goode was just relentlessly entertaining as Robert Evans, Dan Fogler was spot on as Francis Ford Coppola. Despite the issues I had so far with the structure, every time Matthew appears on screen, I thought the series improved significantly. Matthew is really the best part of the series so far

I was skeptical coming into this, I assumed it was a money grab, and a quickly thrown together mess, but I was VERY, VERY WRONG. The casting is A-one (Goode steals every scene he's in), the whole Colombo back story is fantastic, the writing, screenplay, everything is perfect. Really well done, and super interesting to watch even if you're not into the whole Godfather thing ..
The Pacino and Brando actors are astounding.

The making of Apocalypse now series please
I've binge-watched this twice so far and it's amazing each time. I hope Warner Bros. sees this and does a miniseries on the making of Superman '78. That would be another great celebration of the old days of movie magic and has quite the dramatic story in its own right. Thank you, Paramount! Fantastic work with this one!
I just LOVED this series. A total embellishment surely, but simply brilliant! Awesome casting and fantastic Actors too! ALL SO good. I haven't been so entertained by a TV series in a long time! Bravo!
Great character growth and storyline writing.
Not a total "embellishment" which is what makes it all so crazy. Only a couple of things are added for the dramatic effect, everything else did happen for real.
The Dinner scene in Ep 5 was QUALITY! Don’t believe the critic review on Rotten Tomatoes. This is a great series that’s defs a must watch if you love the Godfather series

I don’t care what Rotten Tomatoes rates this… this series is Brilliant. Everything from the acting to the cinematography. It gives me a True behind the scenes feeling all the way through for one of my favorite films of all time!

The whole vibe of this is great. I love Mobster, Gangster shows and movies. Amazing cast! Definitely continue this and do some on AL Capone and John Dillinger etc.

The humor and the Passion and the reality vs. what someone like me (who knows nothing about how the movie was made-only having watched The Godfather maybe a few times-What I love is the Family Parts the Love the Weddings-Passion-Loyalty-not so much a fan of all the crimes and murdering) and getting to see the whole back story.
