Astrograph doesnt have to choose a pendulum monster for it to search, and it also doesnt need to choose from your extra/banish/grave, it can also choose an opponent's card to search (obviously assuming you also have a copy of it)
duelist alliance can also add double iris

Honestly I like using Xiangke Magician as it can be a material for absolute, ss selene and bring it back as an aditional negation for light monsters which are very common for extra deck monsters, it's not that broken but it's just an aditional negat if needed

The major reason people are playing Pend Evo is because its extremely ez to get off. It helps play around Nibiru.
Edit: Also it trades in any Pend monster in your hand into Gate mag or Astrograph
Im not sure how we play around Nibiru without it.
But i do like this list.

Almost same as before in formats like Supreme FTK. You just get Darkwurm and Harmonizing to go insane.

What's his reasoning for not playing pendulum call?
It's already hyper consistent, the new and most powerful engine is the Supreme King stuff, it leaves less space for non-engine, and it's just too frail
The new stuff allows you to play through interruptions, so it's important to not just lose to an Ash on a single chokepoint
Pendulum Call prevents your Magicians from being destroyed while in the scale, so it turns off your Wisdom-Eye, Supreme King Gate Magician, and Double Iris if you pop it to search the Pendulumgraphs.

hey quite a noob here. So King Supreme Z-ARC is not that fundamental in this list? I thought the Supreme King Gate Magician with the Trap to summon ZARC combo was the core of these decks
The deck is mainly a negate. Deck if that makes sense. Been playing it since release and it is amazing at crapping out negates
I really wanna pick up the deck again for fun/competitive fun at my locals and I wanted to ask does black fang magician not have any utility anymore?
I play it as my high scale of choice.
I almost killed a labrynth player who D Barrier'd me with it to summon Beyond from my GY, then scaled Odd-Eyes Revolution Dragon to summon Odd-Eyes Absolute from GY.
Black Fang is the best high scale for magicians, it makes turn 2 or 3 so easy
Can anybody recommend a good tutorial for this deck? I really wanna consider playing this, but don’t really understand the lines. This deck seems really complicated.
It"s actually easy, just use your spells and your normal summon to get 2 copies of Gate Magician and go nuts
