Ravi Zacharias and the Problem of Celebrity Culture

  • The problem with celebrity culture, both inside and outside of the church, is the sense that certain people cannot be held accountable for their actions. As if, because of the status that they hold, they are “untouchable”, that they are the exception, not the rule. This mentality inevitably leads to the downfall of our Christian teachers who are under the greatest spiritual attack and temptation. Let us do away with this mentality once and for all.

@@sqlblindman A board of business people who took over his company released the charges and claims after supposedly a few women came forward with these accusations.
      After his death.
      All similtaneously.
And so apparently the board of people hired a private firm to make private investigation...
And THEN this firm brought forth the accusations with the 3 women against Ravi.
All after his death- when he has no chance to defend himself.
Oh and a few yrs back another women claimed that she sent Ravi naked photos- and then tried to blackmail him for millions.
It didnt exactly work because SHE was the one who sent the photos.
You see there is a history of trying to tie Ravi to sexual crimes.
But now that everyone is such a damn sheep, ESPECIALLY in the Christian community- everyone takes this at face value.
Im honestly sick of seeing none of these Christian CZcamsrs not doing any actual digging.
There is NOTHING normal about this case and if this were all true then why did it take some shadow firm to do an investigation instead of thr actual police?

@@JP-ec9rl I think the Dr. Gene Kim is nuts in a lot of areas, however, there are elements of a little truth in everything. The bigger picture though is how is Jesus using a PORTION of that person to personally talk to an individual, not "the body of Christ" as a whole. Example: I had a former friend MENTOR me for nearly 2 DECADES only to turn around, betray me and proceeded to tell me that he NEVER believed a word he was telling me - that he as trying to "fake it, until he made it." However the Lord told me in a personal prophecy I was given by a German missionary that I met in Las Vegas in 2007 with instruction that the Lord gave this missionary, a lady, by the way, saying to her, "Challenge him to keep feasting on and reading the word, for that is the only input that will surly make is life turn around and implement everything that he has been taught." Well, this former mentor, who was also my former boss as a Christian company WAS THE ONLY PERSON that taught me truth about the Lord (except the missionaries too) because the church has always been against me with trying to change who I am, just because I do not fit "the norm." And NOW, I am doing the EXACT same things he did in my life in order to accomplish the promises that God told me that he had in store for me in the prophecy I was given! - Which by the way, I nw see my betrothed written ALL OVER that prophecy and am DOING EXACTLY what was prophecied, "in code," if you will, in order to make it come to pass! The prophecy became to very slowly open up 7 years ago, 7 years after it was given and it is STILL in the works! If only the church would take a step back and be willing to see "the word of God" through "prophecies shall be given in the last day" (U wish I could find the exact verse location in the bible) taking place before their very eyes...they would be BLOWN AWAY, ESPECIALLY if they though outside of the box and realized that SOMETIMES God works thru someone sin to eventually bless them! The reason for that is because of the reason WHY that particular sin ocurred in the 1st place. Sometimes sin is deliberate, and sometimes sin, for example, prostitution takes place because what started it was because of sexual abuse...usually done by someone in the family...like how my MOM put scars between my legs while my Dad was at work.

The authorities just need to choose to look hard enough instead of "going by the books," like I had happen to me when my house was broken into. If the cops had just LISTENED to me instead of believing everything they were taught....by people that just assume things, they would have been able to catch my burglars because the evidence of what was and was NOT stolen, along with face that my suspects KNEW when I wold be out of town, they would have been in jail. Also in Ravi's case, if the authorities interview all of the accusers separately, whom most did not even know one another and then compares the similarities, they would see by "circumstantial evidence, Jersey that Ravi is guilty. - It is just like how a pastor I once had was removed from his position and when I had made a comment to someone in the church who did not even know me, he said,m "you are not the only one to have said that!" - And B.T.W. the pastor just pubilcally said to the congregation, "I ma taking a 'sabbatical' for a while." In the discussions on this forum, believers sometimes tell me, a former believer, that I never was a "real" Christian in the first place, because they personally cannot imagine anyone losing their faith. If Dr. Turek, or anyone else for that matter, is incapable of telling whether Ravi Zacharias was a "real" Christian, then that means that no one is capable of telling who is a "real" Christian or who isn't. So to anyone out there who thinks they are so good and holy that they can tell if the person in the pew next to them on Sunday is a "real" Christian or not, please listen carefully to Dr. Turek, and think of Ravi Zacharias: you don't know, and you *can't* know someone's heart.

The great irony is how so many Evangelicals arrogantly judged Charismatics for years and naively thought that the scandals which rocked the Charismatic world could never affect them. It's not that one scandal is worse than the other but RZ's were so blatantly out in the open, one wonders how they could have gone on so long. It reminds us all, regardless of which camp we're in, that there must always be real, meaningful scriptural accountability.

Its that judgement, that stoning coming from the questioner that prevents the sinful from pursuing their remedy. Ravi didnt fail us, WE failed Ravi.
