Hey, that kid might make it into the majors some day. He's pretty good.
pfft no way this kid gets a contract worth more than 30 mil.
Eh idk man, his stuff is decent. Definitely no contact more than 150 mil
I don’t see him signing a 300 million dollar contract at any time in his life
Jim Scobie he probably gonna stay in the minor for a while
@@lucass8317 I don't even see him signing that contract with a team like New york Yankees.
Now he's back rooting for New York again.
His mechanics now are so much cleaner. It’s amazing to see imo
That’s the difference between college and the bigs right there. A huge gap between the two, this is why you don’t see guys hit the bigs until 3-4 years after they’re drafted, even from college. Baseball is just so technical it takes a long time to refine mechanics.
Wow , he has changed his mechanic a lot , of course for his best
Dude just got 324 million by the team he grew up rooting for 🙏🏽
He’s ok I guess. At least he got a small contract from his favorite team.
All hype. Never gonna succeed at the big league level.
Crazy to think he was in college just two months ago
Huh?
SP4RK PLAYZ it's called a joke, you wouldn't understand
@@biggchewy1212 lmao I understand it was a joke
@@biggchewy1212 telling me I wouldn't understand, yea ok buddy
SP4RK PLAYZ you clearly didn’t understand otherwise you wouldn’t reply “huh”../
He changed his mechanics for the better
That UCLA team was loaded. Surprised they didn't win it all.
I wonder why this is trending
Moffett's Solution why could it be
His mechanics look so much different now
Pitchers are going to start coming to Houston to become transformed. Brant Strom is just that good I guess. But we saw it with so many other pitchers too. People thought Verlander‘s prime was over because of his age but his numbers with the Astros proved otherwise, he got even better and he even had a phenomenal 2019 season that got him a Cy Young award.
Coop I’ve never seen him pitch. After 4 batters on this video I thought, “this guy finishes his delivery almost standing straight up. That’s got to be a lot of stain on his arm.”
Lol imagine comparing gerrit cole to Phil Hughes 😂
You are right! and why you don't get 245 likes for this comment is more surprising lol
hughes was supposed to be really good
@@pizzaparity he was good, just lost it
I think he’ll first start out with the pirates, then the astros, and then get paid 324M to play for the Yankees!
Mvpbb that’s a hot take
Mvpbb i think so too!
That’s a bold prediction! I agree!
He did fucking dumbass jk lol I wanted to ruin the joke sorry
Yep that's what happeaned
3:08 wow
Laser beam
His windup was inspired by Clemens back then
The Hardcore Proyect exactly his windup reminded me of clemens 😘
The Hardcore Proyect Definitely see that. See some Mussina in there too.
Møtíf yup I see a ton of Moose there
I see so much of Clemens in Coles demeanor as well as some technical similarities.
I don't see it at all. Search roger clemens and you'll see what I am talking about. Clemens had an over the top arm slot, cole doesn't and didn't. You can also see in clemens windup he goes over the head and leg kicks, then leans over his back leg slightly and goes. Where as cole doesn't do that and in college he actually had his torso leaning forward on the way to the plate. The only similarities are that both him and Cole are very direct to the plate. that's about it.
What I see from Cole here, is the same windup he has now but he has smoothed it out. Now, everything is one motion and he's cleaned up his arm path so it doesn't get cocked at 90 degrees before shoulder rotation like you see in this video.
damn his mechanics are a lot different mow
Cole Train!!
someone should sign this guy
I had a felling there was something special about this UCLA team
Yankee fan here i had to watch this hes a savage on the mound
Lol @ the comp to Phil Hughes
Not having to go against The Yankees lineup anymore must be a relief
Who knew gerrit cole and Trevor Bauer played on the same team. That’s crazy
Phil Hughes 😂
Imagine getting drafted by your all time favorite team and turning it down just to sign with them later
Best investment he ever made. Turn down the Yankees, hone your skills and get a good education at UCLA, become a star pitcher in the MLB, get noticed by the Yanks after dominating them in the playoffs, and then have them offer you the richest contract ever for a pitcher.
Pomerlain89 I know looking back it was great move but what if he never became anything or got hurt and he missed his chance to play for them. That would’ve sucked
One day Trevor Bauer will play with Cole on the Yankees
Those cleats are horrendous
So this was posted at the end of October, just as free-agent negotiations were getting started? Scott Boras leaving no stone unturned?
9 years/$324M
Looks like it's the Boston Red Sox logo: "B".
Santa Ana, CA baby!!! 714!!!
I have an asmr thing with that ball hitting the glove
Was no where near the brim of his cap!🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️
Rosenblatt❤️
It’s cute how his wife played softball for UCLA
It's cute but not odd at all. They were both ballplayers
Interesting to see how far left he is on the rubber here. Don't think he does that anymore.
The "other guy" on this team with Trevor Bauer.
We could have went back to back from 09-10 if didn't go to college
Highest payed pitcher of all time, imagine if someone told him that after the game...
Jay Laroc imagine if someone taught you how to spell...
Derek Kraje da faq you talking about?
Not one word spelled incorrectly.
Daniel Dyer the second word is spelt incorrectly? Paid not payed
@@danieldyer6916 paid* not Payed
Imagine watching this and 10 years later hes a Yankee

Don’t ever compare Cole to Phil Hughes ever again!
Ture story tats straight disrespectful to Cole
Is it just me or did his mechanics change
lmfao phil hughes was his comparison? jesus fire whichever scout or analyst said that.
He was no 2 pitcher?
Phil Hughes lmao
Hughes was inconsistent but had a solid career, and was an all star at the time of this vid
HMMM... I saw the video after Cole join NYY
He's gonna regress without that astros special sauce... Yankees gonna wiff again in the playoffs
All of a sudden
El Pres look alike
Wow he could have been a life long yankee
He looks ok. MLB? Suspicious
That guy would be a pretty good yankee but idk
At least he’s with the Yankees now!
Haha Phil Hughes is the definition of a short armer
Who's here after GCole signed with the Yankees?
Sherman Ng literally everyone.... like everyone
Well hello Yankee fans we got the ACE ;)
They compared him to Phil Hughes?! 😂😂
Na hell no Cole is way better
Juan Vadi I know it’s a terrible comparison
Phil Hughes?
Actually his windup and delivery are extremely similar to Hughes especially in his Yankee days. Actually, he also physically resembles Hughes. Hughes didnt have nearly the same stuff that Cole does tho.
@@mkadoza I'm open to whatever similarities they might have as being collateral and not going to the stuff issue. Didn't they also come from the same part of California? Yes.
Did this guy ever make the majors?
No
0:07 now he is a yankee let’s goooo
Zechariah Gibson he went to go college
LMAO PHIP HUGHES WAS AT HIS BEST NOT COLE
Kawhi Knot tbh back then he had similar mechanics to Phil just threw a lot harder. Not a good comparison now agree
All arm no legs.
These guys are scrubs. This Gehrig Coal guy has no chance against the best hitters in baseball like Albert Pujols and Josh Hamilton.
Newt Scamander Don’t forget Miguel Cabrera and Adrian Beltre
@@briskryant1286 and Joe Mauer and Joey Votto. You see that Judge kid the A's drafted? Dumb pick. Glad he went to college, he'd be a bust up here.
HIS COMPARISON WAS PHIL HUGHES? LMAOOO
I’m a big Yanks fan, but I am a little concerned about his durability. Dude has thrown over 200 innings in each of the last 3 years.
Dude said hes like phil hughes 🤔😂😂😂😭😭 hughes was 💩🗑
It's unfair to Cole to be compared to Hughes but come on.. Hughes was a good pitcher. He helped the Yankees win a World Series out of the Bull Pen in 2009!
What a legend. Go 'stros!
L A this didn’t age well
@@rogerweiner5651 How so? He's a starting pitcher behind arguably the two best pitchers in the MLB, and he does it while overcoming acute public anxiety.
L A he’s saying is didn’t age well because he ain’t a stro no more he’s a Yankee
@@LA-hx8gj also astros cheat
L A ummmm he isn’t on the stros. Even with him y’all only made it to game 7 World Series and he was cheated out of a cy young by Justin Verlander yo had worse numbers than him. Also the astros cheated:)
Definitely has no chance. Maybe mediocre at best but no way he gets drafted
2020 Yankees
Seems like a decent prospect, but I don't see him having major league success any time soon.
🤣😂😂😭😭👅🍪👄
He might just be a yankee one day
Anyone know the song at 1:10 ?
Eh, this kid is alright. I doubt he'll make it to the majors though
Saw him in gym shower. Guy is hung like a bull
Haha
Why you looking tho? 👀👀
@@TheHuskyK9 I'm homosexual
probably just a washed up player
Yankees 🤔
LETS GO YANKEES
Can we please bring back the scots who told the yankees to draft him because we cant find any good pitchers in the draft...
This guy is nothing special. Don’t think he will even get drafted. Kind of shocked he even plays college baseball with the level of skill he had. And really he shouldn’t have made it past high school ball.
