      That’s the difference between college and the bigs right there. A huge gap between the two, this is why you don’t see guys hit the bigs until 3-4 years after they’re drafted, even from college. Baseball is just so technical it takes a long time to refine mechanics.

      Pitchers are going to start coming to Houston to become transformed. Brant Strom is just that good I guess. But we saw it with so many other pitchers too. People thought Verlander‘s prime was over because of his age but his numbers with the Astros proved otherwise, he got even better and he even had a phenomenal 2019 season that got him a Cy Young award.

    • @devn266
      @devn266 Před 4 lety

      I don't see it at all. Search roger clemens and you'll see what I am talking about. Clemens had an over the top arm slot, cole doesn't and didn't. You can also see in clemens windup he goes over the head and leg kicks, then leans over his back leg slightly and goes. Where as cole doesn't do that and in college he actually had his torso leaning forward on the way to the plate. The only similarities are that both him and Cole are very direct to the plate. that's about it.
      What I see from Cole here, is the same windup he has now but he has smoothed it out. Now, everything is one motion and he's cleaned up his arm path so it doesn't get cocked at 90 degrees before shoulder rotation like you see in this video.
