    on fresh fill ups I use a propane instant hot water heater with a 12v pump, takes about 20 minutes to get up to temp

    I go a couple months without changing the water in mine

    Hi, you don't need to change out water that frequently. As long as chlorine, TA and Ph levels are good and you change out filter weekly, you can get 2-4 months before putting fresh water in👍

    have had a hot tub over 35 years and use it almost daily in lower Ct. (yes, we have winters) Water changes are 60 - 90 days or whenever we have excess foam / cloudy water. Dirty / cloudy water is from dirty bodies or swimsuits. Everyone MUST shower beforehand and nude use is encouraged because most swimsuits are not clean. (body oils and lingering laundry soap) I hose out the filters about every 4 weeks. Cost to operate (outside) runs $30 - $50 a month in electric, depending on the weather. Filling with hot water from an electric water heater is not saving anything. It's the same kilowatts either way.

      Thank you for this information. I was going to skip the showering beforehand, but now I'm going to try and actually stick to doing that first!

      @@anonymoususer1824 BTW, if you have ever been to a gym or YMCA, there's always a sign in the locker room saying "soap shower before entering pool" ... and they mean it for just this reason. On the swimsuit.... take a clean one (fresh from the laundry) and put it in a glass bowl with clean water. Swish it around, wring it out, and see what happens to the water. That will answer the other half of the question!

    So basically just use my natural gas hot water tank to fill it up with a hose first - then the unit itself can take over and keep it hot. gotchya!

      @Movie2Documentary Před rokem +1

      @no one you d need extra filters and a pressurized pump to simulate pressure of the watertower. Otherwise your tank would clog up and the flow would run back.

    Heard you mention doing electrical work; have you tried opening up the heat pump to see if it can be converted to 220v? I'm considering prying mine open to see if there's a way to do so, but worried it might damage the control panel or heating coils.

    Ok, but personally sitting in a very unpleasant environment like shown in the video clip ,in a jacuzzi, it's a bit out of my standards!
    Result, I will never use the jacuzzi, and never pay a dime for electricity! 😅

      @Journal 82 Well I believe I am lucky, since I am living in Greece ! I have installed a Bestway steel frame pool in my garden, overlooking the beautiful sea ! Now I am installing also a Bestway jacuzzi, and planning to use solar power to heat ,if needed during spring and winter! Independent from the jacuzzi console . Sunshine is plenty available and hopefully it works. Regards.

    Is there a moisture issue with the hot water evaporation as far as condensation? I am considering putting one in my basement but I have concerns about condensation

    • @Andy-df5fj
      @Andy-df5fj Před 10 měsíci +1

      I presume you mean condensation on cold items in the basement due to the water vapor released from the hot water. In my opinion, as long as you have it covered up well, the evaporation should be minimal.
      If you have it uncovered for long periods though, you may want to run a dehumidifier to keep the humidity under control.

      got news for you... making your own power with a gen set will cost you 4-6 times more that from the utility company.... and that's only the fuel. You still have to buy the gen and do the footwork.
