The articulations are the best, just wow
I think this is the first time I've ever seen one of the enlisted members actually conduct the Marine Band; nice to see at least one of them getting the opportunity.
Absolutely fantastic!!! I've played this piece when I was in my college symphony band and I remember how difficult it was to play. The tempo that the Marine Band takes this at is unbelievable! They really pulled it off amazingly well!
I’ve always been thrilled by the marine band. We were blessed with their concerts in schools while growing up.
Viewing this a year and a half after the fact. I'm totally dumbstuck by the amazing musicality of this group. I look and see so many familiar faces and I so miss these wonderful people.
Beautiful piece of music.. what a joy to hear that .. thank you US Marine Band .. Enjoy it
I loved this piece! I'm playing it right now as a sophomore in high school!
Are you playing the old Mayhew Lake arrangement?
@@LyleFrancisDelp no i’m pretty sure my band played the one played here
@@dakshbadri Where do you attend high school? Who was the arranger listed on the music?
@@LyleFrancisDelp The arranger is Donald Patterson, who also conducted the piece in this video.
@@ActivBowser9177 I’m glad to hear that! Hope you enjoyed playing it.
Thank-you. A fine rendition of a tricky overture which is challenging to play well.
素晴らしい時代になりました。スーザバンドの演奏を動画で、見れるなんて、昔は演奏だけでした。演奏している姿を想像して、聞いたものです。
この編曲は初めて聞きました。素晴らしい‼️
Italian proud!
Great arrangement! I'm currently playing Piccolo on a much less well-done transcription, and I appreciate how well thought out this was!
Hello! I’m assuming the transcription you are playing is the standard one by Mayhew Lake? I’ve always had issues with that transcription ever since playing it in my college years. I wanted to do it better and be more true to Verdi’s original.
What a great tribute to Joe Green! Seriously, just a superb performance by the Marine Band! Did the orchestral version in my youth symphony back in the day. I trust the trumpet parts were transcribed from the original E trumpet parts.
The entire work was transcribed form the original score.
E bravissimi molto tutti..direttore compreso naturalmente..molto solenne!
Bellissima trascrizione!!
Tolles Orchester, tolle Musik🎶 🎶 🎶 🎶 🎶 🎶 🎶 🎶
Beautiful performance. It would be delightful to hear and see in person in an amphitheater.
Let me point out - MGySgt Donald Patterson - wonderful transcription and conducting!
Thank you, kind sir!!
Bravo!
Fantastic!
Grandiosi!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BRAVI!!! Beautiful Performance. Greetings from Venice, Italy 🎶🎶

Best version I’ve heard yet. Military always beats an orchestra for this piece. Beautiful sound.
Yes, to hear every single line in minute detail, the clarity of wind transcriptions demonstrate an advantage over the orchestra, and for some pieces as this, I also enjoy wind versions more so, even without the sumptuousness of the strings.
@@johns.4708 Strings just get in the way. LOL
I'm looking at the timpani player (cuz that's the part I got) and I notice that HE F*CKING RETUNES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SONG.
Hell naw ain't no way I have to do that too.
UPDATEi: okay turns out there was no retuning in the middle of the song my guess was that the guy was fixing a note he didn't like.
The piece requires it.

Don about a brass choir arrangement????
Retired. LOL

🙏🏻, please don’t leave me alone for Palestinian people and world security reasons, please ❤️🌎.
A lovely arrangement, but I am saddened by the percussion section of the greatest fighting force in the world reduced to wearing god-damned face diapers.
Please don't judge. Everyone makes their own choices. It doesn't affect the performance in the least.
