@@nicholasvaughan2814 It's not independent. Nazarbayev came to power in 1986 and was reluctant to proclaim independence, and has only retired in 2019 after assigning the loyal Tokayev, who is even more Moscow oriented, to be his successor.

It's neither. Actually Kazakstan is also KGB and influenced by China, so it's just theater. It was never any different or free, so it's just fake news. Russia always got oil and ressources from there, which they sold to a higher price for the benefit of both, and it won't change with China. That's why ressources somebody got from Russia never had a fair price, it was just enrichment for the oligarchs.

@@stephen8433 I am a guy living near the Texas coast. Many Texans are familiar with the phrase "Come and Take It." It's a well known challenge. There is even a "Come and Take It" flag. The cannon is on display in Gonzales, Texas. Freedom isn't free. Right now Ukraine is paying the price. And if russia forgot that they sold Alaska to the US they have memory loss. If they want it back, they could try to negotiate a deal. Or they could try to "Come and Take It"

Kazakhstan is also Russia's storm drain for when their poorly maintained dams fail.
Kazakhstan, is a VERY large area - w/ lots of Natural resources, &; I believe they also have a huge 'Space Rocket Launch Facility', & large Air Bases, inc. where they had a lot of their ICBMs stationed.

I have been in Kazakhstan 3 x. Second time was in 1996 when my wife and I, married only 2 months, drove from Sweden to Krasnoyarsk to work there for one year. The only sane way to drive there was to drive south from Omsk into Kazakhstan and then up through Altai area to Novosibirsk. The scenery was beautiful. Close to Barnaul was a city Semipalatinsk, which is where USSR did nuclear tests only slightly underground which affected untold numbers of Kazakhs. My first visa to USSR came from the Nevada-Semipalatinsk anti-Nuclear foundation in Barnaul in 1991.

My brother is a private contractor under the 🇺🇲 Dept of Energy & works VERY closely with Kazakhstan for many years now. He travels there at least once, if not twice, a month. When Russians were fleeing Russia en masse after the invasion of Ukraine, he couldn't get a hotel room for many of his trips for a while. He keeps exactly what he does under wraps as he has top secret security clearance but his trips there are getting longer & he's also started going to Moldova over the past 4 - 5 months as well. So whatever is going on over there seems to be heating up.

Kazakhstan may become a very important allied of Ukraine. It will happen once Russia attacks.

Ukraine should be provided with an enough fighter aircraft to form airforce, such as F-16s and longer-range precision munitions, including ATACMS (more of them, and the longest-range versions should be sent to them), and the russian military facilities inside of russian territory should be considered legitimate targets. It is worth noting that support for military aid to Ukraine in America is over 80% and increasing. This is because Americans understand that not only is aiding Ukraine the morally right thing to do, it is the practical thing to do also. America has spent something like approximately 6% of our military budget so far to aid Ukraine. However, more than half of the russian army has been destroyed. This is a tremendous bargain by any measure! In addition, when russia is defeated in this war, their barbaric ideology of imperialism will also be defeated, making Europe a much more peaceful and stable place for decades - as well as preventing a new arms race in the region. That is why billions of dollars spent today to aid Ukraine saves trillions of dollars tomorrow. The vast majority of Americans understand this fact. Americans also want Ukrainian military and civilian casualties minimized. This is why Americans are correct to support providing military aid to Ukraine.
Please write to your elected representatives to request this military aid. If you are an American citizen, please consider writing to President Biden and your other elected representatives;, and demand Ukraine be given the above weapons - in war-winning quantities, and promptly. The sooner America provides Ukraine the weapons it requires to liberate all of its territory, the sooner this war will be done, and with fewer Ukrainian casualties. Letters can be submitted electronically via the Whitehouse website. One can also conduct a google search for ones' elected representatives - many of which have similar websites. One may simply write and submit a letter electronically to make one's desire known.

One of the main things that people don't get is that the US had to replace all of its old munitions anyway so theoretically they are spending the money one way or the other actually it's saving them money because they don't have to pay for the disposal of the old munitions

I want to translate an old song into Kazakh.
A song about two Irish men who are approached by British soldiers attempting to recruit them into the army ( about 1860). When the soldiers take offense at their refusal a fight begins and the Irish men are victorious.
It would translate well into any of the minority languages around the old USSR. Songs can travel where social media can’t.

Kazakhstan is a very strong partner to China, with large Belt and Road investments as well as substantial military equipment purchases.

Good point. I didn't stop to consider the chinese belt and road initiative investments in Kazakhstan when I made one of my posts. This makes things a little bit trickier for Putin. China now becomes the wild card in this scenario. However, losing Kazakhstan would be even worse than losing Ukraine because of its size and abundant resources.

This is another reason why it is a very likely target for Russia. Even as large as that country is, it seems to be the most logical , easiest, and most practical choice for them to make. All they really need is a reason. As it stands right now, if I am not mistaken, Putin has his man in power there and doesn't feel like he needs to do anything with it. However events and situations can change quickly and radically in that part of the world.

No matter who is in power, it is a day to meet and listen to the speakers and engage with each other. We sing songs together. It is nice, and everybody is peaceful, just expressing viewpoints and satisfaction or dissatisfaction with various policies or the government. 😊 ruzzia is miserable and wants to make everybody else so. In the U.S., the former president is using the same nonsense strategies on his supporters. Make them afraid of immigrants, so they don’t pay attention to that he has no legislative accomplishments except tax cuts for billionairres and just pledged to extend them, in exchange for donations to his little campaign, or that he is an adjudicated rapist and business fraudster. Like a classic authoritarian, he says only he can protect them from the scary immigrants, despite immigrants add to the economy and are statistically less likely to commit crimes.🫠 I am sorry for the people of Kazakhstan, should they become the next boogeyman for Russians to fear to further enable Putin’s bad behavior.
