Back in 2008 or 09 I was driving a client's series 7 Phantom in Bethesda, MD. I was sitting at a traffic light with all the windows down but not blasting the radio or anything annoying when an older woman pulled up next to and started yelling at me for being "a rich ass hole". I just looked at her, shook my head at how ridiculous she was, and rolled up all the windows. Once the windows went up I couldn't hear her complain about the 1%. Then the light changed and I made the Power in Reserve meter go to a very low level to get away from the crazy person!
Very nicely done review. I know everyone comments on its “massive size;” however, in reality it is no longer than millions of pickup trucks driving our roads without raising any eyebrows. For instance, a Ford F150 Supercrew with smallest bed is ~232”.

My absolute favourite category of motorcars. I would have liked a bit more details in regards to the luxury upgrades (and costs). But maybe those could be covered in a future video(?). A ‘Part 2’… before someone takes possession of this icon. There is quite a lot to discuss on the Phantom and it’s history, and I think that you managed your time very well. I hold Rolls Royce in high regard. Well done! Thanks for the video.

The sence of occasion that this car provides just seems stunning, great review and description of how special a rolls royce is.
Great presentation, but this title is incorrect because the 2018 Rolls-Royce Phantom 8 is not the series 2. The series 2 Phantom is the current model year 2023. Just a heads up from a die-hard Rolls-Royce fan and experienced Phantom 7 driver.
If someone was outside shouting "hey you forgot your briefcase" I guess you'd have to go on without your briefcase.

Great video Kennon, I enjoyed it eating my lunch. I loved all the history and technical details you bring. I think bright white is the perfect colour to contrast the gorgeous colour of that interior.

Jumping on the Kennan praise trend, I really enjoyed his presentation of this car and especially the model's history. If I could make one change, it would be to go into the material quality, especially the switches, more. I'd love to know how they compare to bank vault Mercedes. But yeah, this was great.

This is not a series II phantom. this is a Phantom MK8 Series I
They mean the series II BMW Phantoms, which look very different from the Non-BMW Phantoms I to VI.

Hey Ken, hope you well buddy. WHAT A CAR, what a piece of engineering this is. I truly think the guys at BMW really nailed the idea (I absolutely hate the door rear mirrors though, they are truly ugly) just like the fellas at VW did with he Bentley, Bugatti or Lamborghini for that matter . It's great that the germans did acquire these brands that otherwise could end in the hands of some unknown indonesia mogul wannabe. Much love as always from West Spain and congrats for another great job.
I really do enjoy watching Kennan now as much as I do Doug. And that’s some pretty high praise.

The whole “it uses GPS to control the transmission” is not such an exclusive deal as they make it sound. It’s been fairly standard on most BMWs, including the 2014 2-series.

it's COGNAC and it is RIDICULOUS to also use it on the roof which is supposed to be the "night sky". THat should be black, and there is already some black leather in the interior.
You should have tested the speakers somehow too, I'm sure it's a unique experience.

Although I’m not 100% certain my understanding is that Rolls made just one v16 which appeared in the Johnny English movie . Roman Atkinson wanted to buy the car but Rolls wouldn’t sell it to him . I’m sure if my facts are wrong there will be plenty of people desperate to correct me .

Glad I looked at the listing photos. The $2200 oil change ($600 in parts and $1600 in labor) is positively hilarious! What will these poor dealers do when R-R goes full EV?
I’ll have to look at what is involved in a Phantom Oil Change. But in there defense I’m sure it’s not like changing the oil in a simple Toyota. For example in a Lamborghini Huracán you have to open 11 drain plugs not 1. Hence why the labor costs are very high in a lot of high end imported cars. You can do it yourself too but it will take hours. I do my own oil changed on my Ferrari and understand why the oil changes at Ferrari cost a lot. A lot of hard labor. So much more so than my other cars. 🤷🏼♂️

This has reached $125,000 already in its first few hours (out of 7 days) on the block. It can easily top 200k if not 300k. FOr this kind of cash, we need to know much more than what is given on the cars and bids site
A small sample of important questions that we need answered:
1. The first owner bought it new in 2018 and sold it in 2020, probably at the end of a lease? Why did he sell it? Phantoms are forever cars, and they are also bespoke, so the next owner may not like the color etc choices of the first one.
2. Similarly, the second owner sells it after only 3 years. WHy? The Phantom is a forever car.
You can ask these questions on the auction listing and will most likely get an answer.

The interior has the "starry sky" option, which looks TERRIBLE in orange leather. It already has patches of black leather in this interior, they should make the roof with the stars black too, NOT Orange!!!
