How about we support innovative companies instead of companies that steal ideas. R&D is expensive and an emotional process. Let's reward innovators instead of imitators.
@Spaceman Spiff Translation Most people are such isheep that they don't know that there are great products. The finish line is when apple copies it
They can gets patents and be rewarded by licensing their innovation to „stealing“ firms
@Spaceman Spiff she's just being sarcastic.
Let’s make this viral🚀
It’s nice to still see her at CNET after all these years, I always liked her
We don't need more colors for macbooks. We need more colors for airpods, at least a dark one (black or space grey).
I agree. Color is the only reason I use galaxy buds instead of AirPods with my iPhone.
I don’t know if you tried them, but I started using a pair of the beats fit for the color options, and I personally prefer them now over the AirPods but still apple so a lot of the same features and quality. I wish they had wireless charging for the case instead of having to plug it in, but that’s a minimal and I’m a fan.
I always say Apple products are white because they see their consumers as sheep.
That would mess with the marketing of the product. When you see the white wireless earbuds everyone is wearing on the subway, you know they are AirPods. The white color, and general shape, screams AirPods. If you create a black or dark colored product, you start questioning whether or not those are real AirPods-maybe they’re a knockoff. Part of owning the AirPods is the conspicuous consumption-you want people to know that you’re in the AirPods club. Yes, there are white knockoffs, but white earbuds have been Apple’s signature for 20 years.
@@KonohasYeIlowFlash Your comment proves the point of most people wanting Airpods just for status. Does it really matter what you have in your ears? Knock off or not, if it's comfortable and gets the job done, it shouldn't matter. A little color won't hurt to spice things up. I feel like apple users have to show the world they have apple products. It was the same when Beats were popular; everybody and their grandmother wanted one as if those were the only wireless headphones 🎧.
So why wait for apple to come out with something similar, leave apple and get another brand?
Apple cult doesn't let members leave
Ew.
What a brilliant idea!
@@octavius8562 apple is just a brand name with a bad user interface
Cause shes a white american. All the techs werent white american. Apple is white american
This lady and the VR guy are carrying CNET lol. Jokes as im sure there are tons of others who work really hard.. just been enjoying the content so far like a revival of CNET
It's sad that you can't just place your apple watch or air pod on your phone to charge on the go when samsung has had power share for years
ar is definitely the future. no more having to carry giant phones or needing bendable screens. you can have any size you want in ar
The smart band only works because it's power consumption is in the μW scale. The Apple Watch is in the mW scale (1000 times larger!)
Which she was saying, was in a very low power mode and you could figure a way to get more power as well
If it takes half a day to get to 5% on the Apple Watch that is 5% that you can use. It’s great tech
@@coltonpiper6156 it’s not! The discharged rate is higher so it’s going to be useless
No one wants this charging watch band. The biggest appeal of the Apple Watch is the ability to pick whatever band you want-you can also get super-cheap bands on Amazon. Only a few people would be interested in this thing, which isn’t enough to bother with the tech licensing and development.
The cringe, my goodness!
Just Apple? Girl support other brands maybe and stop living in that loop 🤔
Google will do all of that before Apple does. I would say that it's time to dump Apple and start looking at companies that are innovating. Don't get me wrong Apple, you are a great company of "premium" products, but innovation is not there like with Jobs
I wouldn’t say that at all. Apple is doing so much at the moment their chip sets being a highlight that’s hard to ignore
Apple are definitely innovative, maybe the industry leaders when it comes to their CPUs. Everything else not so much
Yes, please make an “all day activity tracker which also monitor your sleep” aka Apple Watch that can actually do that. I went back to Garmin watch which does all that and only needs recharge every week or so.
Yeah... Apple really doesn't need this, apple could still benefit from the strap especially because you don't have to charge it, but it's better suited for normal watches or watches that aren't as accurate as an apple watch. Only a select few Garmins are fairly accurate for activity tracking referencing the quantified scientists.
Pixel and Fossil watches could adapt this band easier
Well, I think it's clear where bias is. Hopefully she isn't covering Apple competitor products.
It's hard to watch cnet reviews of any apple competitors when it's so obvious everyone there is a slave to the apple ecosystem
I appreciate Bridget’s consistency. Been watching CNET for many years and her enthusiasm for tech remains the same 😀
I want to see more sliding tech. Folding seems like a chore but if it just slides to a bigger size, I would use when I need more screen real estate if it starts out as an iPhone mini size 😊
This felt like it was scripted to be an SNL skit! Excellent work 😂
Terrific information. Thank you so much for bringing this information to us.
Apple doesn't dominate my life. I don't have a single apple product anymore. I had a MacBook 5 years ago but went back to Windows.
3:39 LOL xD
The light up logo caused outside light from the side of the logo to bleed behind the screen causing you to see a faint or strong faded light on top of what your screen was showing.
I started carrying a Casio watch on my travel case because of the same problem with the Apple Watch, so a self-winding mechanism just to show the time would be perfect
So is that body heat rechargeable band already a working accessory for the Apple Watch because this is an idea I thought about about a year ago that it would be perfect for one of the models at some point down the line that’s the only thing that’s been keeping me from interest?
I LOLed when the notebook came out and she flipped through it
3:40 lol
We just gave them and idea for:
1. $499 auto rechargeable watch band
2. $2499 colourful mac book pro
3. $4999 wireless apple tv
4. $3999 headsets
Nice funny Bridget Carey at 3:40 LOL Nice "toy" lol
Your jokes are hilarious, Bridget! I literally LOL'd when you said you looked at your phone to see the time like a barbarian! lol Great video! :)
Thank you so much!
Your sense of humor so vivid and light.
I love it )
The battery charging would be awesome if apple steals that!
The tech has been around for mechanical watches, right? I can see how this sort of tech might work for mechanical watches, but I cannot see how this tech can power an entire smartwatch with a display that maches the brightness of modern flagship smartphones.
Then again, I think the tech would be neat if it can power the Apple watch for emergency situations (ie. when the battery is completely empty).
@@03Chris25yeah so a mechanical watch only uses a spring there is no current generated for the watch however there are kinetic quarts movements that charge a battery to power the watch but that technology has been incredibly difficult to get right seiko makes them but if the watch runs out of power it needs to be serviced. Bulova I believe has just released something but it is more complex and has similar issues. A kinetic power generator isn’t going to power an Apple Watch anytime soon or any smart watch honestly…
The BHeart band + the CasiOak is a watch/tech enthusiast dream 😍
In ancient history Apple did have a presence at CES. I went to a show in the early 80s when CES was in Chicago. Apple had a huge booth to show off their new product: the Lisa computer. Maybe that’s why they don’t go anymore :)
If she’s in the video…I’m watching. She’s so funny 😂
Agreed. My favorite person at CNET.
A human being goes to CES and explains it to other human beings (some of whom work for a company in Cupertino). Brilliant!
I’m a simple man. If Bridget is in the video… I’m watching it.
we don't want much, just how about let them add Back button or gesture correctly, and edit screenshot which button i can use, rotating screen to all apps or or or ...etc.
If I was already CEO of Apple, then Apple would have already launched a near-eyes lightfield HMD product.
"Apple is really good at taking other people's ideas and putting their own twist on them"
Yes they are. The twist is usually doubling the price of their product and somehow convincing their customers to pay it.
Instead of getting credit to great inovations, and talk about helping these othe companies, CNET makes a video saying that they would like Apple to steal other companies ideas... But, sure, no bias to Apple at all... really, what a shame video!
Bridgets sense of humour and charisma just make her videos enjoyable to watch
3:01 Hey! That isn't nice! ;-)
8:38 How about screens that roll up? Have you watched Earth: Final Conflict?
I am sure in a secret room, apple has tech that is jaw dropping but having something jaw dropping that you can make on scale is very different. The iPhone is going to slowly be phased out and make way for apple glasses. You may think I don’t want to wear apple glasses but so many people said the same thing about the iPhone when it first came out, now it sells more phones then anyone else
Agree...Apple glasses that make phone calls and virtual reality!
Not a room, a Bunker! 😅
Something I don't get is people who want apple to make everything. The "I'll buy it when apple makes it" mentality. It's often compounded with "I'll buy anything apple makes" which really provides a limited incentive for apple to make these things specifically. You know, you CAN leave the walled garden for some things, there's a whole world out there.
Because Apple makes better products. That’s what creates loyalty.
There was a Microsoft store just across from Apple Store at a really busy mall here. The Microsoft store h had decent amount of customers before pandemic. Nothing compared to the Apple Store. I have a picture during the pandemic that shows the Microsoft Store shutdown and boarded up while Apple Store had people waiting in a long line outside. 😂
People can hate on Apple all they want but all they do is make money. 3 trillion dollar company just selling a hand full of products. 😂😂😂😂
Thank you! It was fun 👍🏻
That watch charging tech would take days and days to give even a little trickle of charge for an Apple Watch. The fact that they aren’t even powering so much as an eInk display with it is a good indicator of just how little power it produces.
The MacBook doesn’t have a light up logo anymore because it no longer has a backlit screen. Cramming LED’s under diffusing layers would add unnecessary thickness.
Was more thinking along the lines of solar charging through the screen somehow or something.
AT&T already does away with paying for individual box with directv stream.
vr + drones + home robot + self driving car
is next for consumer tech
other staff = old
I think Apple don't need to steal that. They just need to open or make reverse wireless charging from their iphone just like other Android phone for reverse charge their watch and airpod.
My Apple TV already acts as my cable box for Hulu TV, I don’t have any cable boxes anymore, just Apple TVs, this problem has already been solved
Definitely no folding screens! I don't have the slightest desire for that. The broadcasting box might be nice, but I don't see Apple ever doing that. Ditto with self-charging watches. Great idea, but I think Apple is likely to see that as a gigantic collection of fail points. As you said yourself, the more things that move, the more things that can break. Well, Apple doesn't like things that can break.
Really? Because Apple broke their own phones on purpose to force upgrades. Horrible company that I will never support with their anti-consumer predatory tactics. Proprietary plugs, unfixable phones, and dreadful customer service.
@@bdbeckstrand All due respect, why watch a video about Apple products if you're never going to buy one? I've used Apple products and a range of their competitors, and I prefer Apple.
@@friscodog It was on a feed. Apple/Android is more about comfort level, but I feel like Apple is anti-consumer and a bad value. The M1 chip is their best product right now that is truely innovative and better than the competition.
It's not exactly @Apple's game. But you can get OEM/ODM.....
i couldn't wait for folding iPhone. i gave in and bought Z Flip 4. i do want to see the "better way", "Apple way". i am locked in with this darn seemless Apple Watch (series 6) but i may hold onto the 14 Pro until the battery won't make it a day (for me). (To preserve my iPhone battery health, i charge the 14 Pro every other night and use my Samsung phones - Note 20 or Z Flip 4 as my "weekender").
I love Bridget's CNET videos. She does excellent coverage and is funny. keep them coming, please.
What do you find so good about the folding phones? I really don't see the point in them tbh
Always fabulous to see the absolutely gorgeous & fun Bridget Carey, she hit the nail on the head about Apple stealing tech then eventually claiming as their own.hopefully they will listen to Bridget and steal….er I mean acquire the wristband tech & then charge much higher than the reasonable $100 that the firm is currently charging
Your ideas and information doesn’t have to just have Apple provide these ideas. Samsung and other companies can also provide these ideas to the public.
Apple foldable smartphones should come with free selective AppleCare+ and it depends on the storage on the iFolds/iRoll.
Bridget is awesome 😂😂😂
Brilliant idea especially MacBook
One reason why America isn't as advanced in technology as other rich countries is because we rely so much on Apple products
Apple should make a virtual Apple Store when it launches its VR goggles. That would be very “meta” (not FB meta). Then 2D stuff like lots of monitors and FaceTime. Then it should focus on VR fitness with VR biking, treadmills, rowing, boxing, and meditation.
Thank you 👍
She is the best!! Thanks for reporting on CES Bridget!
What was "that kind of robot helper" ?
**Asking for a friend.
Great fun! Thanks
You're humorous. I loved watching this
Self-charging watches have been around a long, long while.
I really want to see fold/rollables to come to Apple, I buy apple devices because they make everything so seamless, but your never going to get more seamless than one device that can perform multiple roles
Agree...More Apple All-in-One products needed like iPad mini + iPhone = Rollable iPad
The best thing about apple watches is not owning one. 🤣🤣
My 99$ watch gets 2.5 weeks battery life and does what I need. Apple has a long way to go
Videos like this are hilarious. Apple Sheeple say the darnest things :p
Not that kinda robot helper 😂
The fact that you’re still using a cable box, and don’t see a need for an Apple TV says a lot…😐
“…attach any normal clock watch…” i approve this message.
The Samsung colours are Benjamin Moore colours which means you can match with your colour scheme, so exciting!
Good work!
Asking Apple to please do something for their paying customers, is like asking your dog to speak your language. You may spend a lot of money on your dog but it will never talk. Just like Apple, they don't give a fykk about what their customers want. They want ur money and that is it.
Great ideas for them to “borrow” 😂
Yeah to touch on that Apple TV bit, they will not undercut them selves by making something that makes you purchase less apple products.
Did you change your style? I like it. Fun.
When can live without Apple
EXCELLENT REPORT.
Awesome video Bridget 😊
I think the Pixel watch needs that band. The world that uses Android so why are we so concerned with what Apple does with this tech? Roll up screens was originally on the LG Roll (the last phone they ever developed).
Nice video. Amongst other things I learnt the latest definition of a barbarian😀. I agree with you about folding phones. Best CNET video I’ve seen in a long long long while
Nice presentation ma'am
Apple this Apple that 🤣🤣🤣
Irony , 1:03 she is talking about tech reading from a NOTEBOOK.
I thought this was the snl weekend update with colin and michael
The band would be cool, but let’s be honest. Apple were to make their own version it would cost just as much as the Apple watch.
That won a CES innovation award???!!!! That was pretty EASY. Blatantly obvious tech...wow. I should make some new products based on "low hanging fruit" instead of always pushing for extreme innovation like "I should make a near-eye lightfield HMD" and so on.
an android device could charge the apple watch with reverse charging no?
I don't think Apple will steal that wrist band....... it's not profitable! Or if they ever steal that, they will sell it at very high price 💀
Didn't Samsung have a solar powered phone way back in 2009 or something?
My $40 Casio watch has a solar charging :D
You need your own technology company
Thank you so much for this. Apple needs to step it UP. We know they have the R&D to do it…..
Meh. Too little power for smart watch
Thank you, Bridget Carey, for the fantastic and intelligent reporting!
I hate APPLE WATCH BANDS
I prefer to support these companies that are doing something, not everything has to have an apple logo on it, they're still busy with innovating and releasing the same thing every year.
She is funny and interesting, a a true entertainer, however Apple at the moment is the best company when it comes to efficiency but they need to improve in bringing unique tech in a new way.
Apple doesn't have unique tech, they have unique marketing. The "Retina Display" is their name for several different display techs, including the Samsung OLED screens they use.
All these tech in CES 2023, apple will introduce all this by 3023.
I like your Humorous criticism of Apple & keep going with that. Looking forward to seeing more of it with other companies.
