- We played hours' worth of Palia, the upcoming cozy MMO, and found it to be a delightfully pleasant surprise - kind of like a bizarre lovechild of World of Warcraft and Animal Crossing. Previewed on PC by Travis Northup.

one big server means like 20 people at one instance. also multiplayer activities are way more difficult cause you cant be on a server (or an instance) with more than 20 people so the "massive" is like more a "co-op" multiplayer online game.

They are. Outfits cost about $15-20 for one, and then $50-$100 for a 3 pack. There's a few streamers who have shown this off.
Are there guilds or something like them in this game? How does one find someone with whom to work together?
there are 'communities' you can join. the games equivalent to guilds. Also you can just ask folk to help you with stuff such as if you see someone else hunting you can just ask if they wanna hunt with ya for the extra benifits.

Been testing it for over a year now. It's definitely not an "Mmo"... The world is small and segmented into smaller maps and instances, with a 25 person population cap in public areas. This game is designed for 12 to 16 yos, I'm sure a lot of older players will enjoy it, but it's very simplistic.
How in depth is the character customization?

Nope. Palia is really boring, and only really fit for casual players who are easily entertained. The quests are just timesinks and too easy, the game in general is either waiting for cooldowns/timers or too easy.

I've heard its a max number so many players nearby, more like a 25 man lobby than an mmorpg, also its instanced housing. So a bit of a misadvertisement.
It use the same instacing system that many mmorpg use but most people just don't know about. And each area has a different max number of players (and different players).
And thousands online at one time, so yeah, an MMO.
That's the same as most mmo. There a limited number of player that can be in one area.

Should we call this a 3rd person shooter too because the perspective is 3rd person? 25 people is not massively multiplayer, sorry. Looks like an alright multiplayer farming sim game, but nothing ground breaking unfortunately.

This sounds like it could be fun, but the visual presentation appears a little bland and soulless to me. Animations are relatively stiff, too.
Seems like those playing solo are punished.

What if you have no firends?
Strangers are friendly too. You can have buff and loot even you're not in group. There is no" reward base on damage you deal" everyone have same amount of loot if they try to hunt or cut a tree. Fishing can be buffed if you just fish near other players

I'm confused. How does NPC romance works? Is it allowed for two or more players to romance the same NPC or is it just one for every player? What if we run out of NPCs to romance due to the high number of players? Lol 😂

Right now there is no even an endgame. Grinding mats. building your house and romancing npcs is all what it in game for now.
