  • This particular recording of this song was done one month after the studio version was done for Columbia (June 7, 1943). The major difference being this version has not only the backing music, but Sinatra singing the whole song without a choral accompaniment. Hope you enjoy the song Frank himself was particularly fond of as he did over fourteen different performances of it. Two of which being studio recordings for Columbia and Capitol.

      First time hearing this early version ( with a never before heard last verse) I much prefer his Capitol Years recording from the classic album of the same name ( title song).. interesting to hear this version though , still beautifully sung, but the Capitol recording is definitive.
