Dog screams every time he is touched - so sad to see such a scared dog 💔

  • Loreta was quick here and managed to avoid a bite, but in two days, I will post a video where she wasn't that lucky and was bitten TWICE - I will post it here: www.HopeForPaws.org ❤️
When we got a text on the #HopeForPaws emergency line, we headed out to rescue #Arnold. It's important to understand that dogs like him don't usually leave the shelters alive... the system doesn't have the resources to provide the support system that a dog like him needs.
After ruling out a medical issue, Arnold continued to our friends at #FoxyAndTheHounds where Terri Fox had to teach him how to love all over again. She did a great job and she really turned him around! She then did something even more amazing, but you'll have to watch until the end 🥰
There are many more dogs for adoption on their website: www.FoxyAndTheHounds.org
I just spoke to Loreta and she asked if there is any way for her to text our subscribers... she wants to send a message to everybody. I told her that every person who signs up here will get her text: www.HopeForPaws.org/Join
Thank you so much for watching our videos! Tomorrow I will post another video 😉

I am Arnold’s new mama. He had the most amazing Christmas and Santa filled his stocking up with lots of toys. Arnold is by far the hardest rescue we have ever adopted however this little boy wants to love and be loved so very much and every day it gets better. Arnold now spends his days on any and all pieces of furniture in the house. He loves taking a nap on his heating pad most days. He has more toys than he knows what to do with and his diet consists of roasted chicken, boiled chicken, ground sirloin, Kobe beef, roast beef, and turkey. We will spoil Arnold for the rest of his life and love him. We will NEVER abandon him or hurt him. He now lives the life of luxury!!

Could you imagine not speaking the human's language and being so terrified? How could he ask or know if the humans are going to hurt him again? I'm no Dog Whisperer but I'll bet that sweetie was beaten and probably spent his whole life trembling with fear. Now look how calm and for the first time in who knows how long, he's happy. Merry Christmas Arnold.

I have had 24 cats in 44 years. ALL of them were homeless before I rescued them.
My girlfriend has 2 cats we rescued from abuse & our beloved Betty Boop cat died 3 years ago at 16 & she was rescued from abandonment, covered with fleas & full of worms. She was one of the sweetest cats ever.
My girlfriend has had many homeless cats and kittens as well.
Her girlfriend took in a pregnant mama cat and now has 5 and a dog.
No animal or human should wind up abandoned and on the street.

Marie C That is an unfair statement. It is mostly reacting to the reactions of a frightened animal and not relating this to a human that is severely afraid. If they did this, most would likely feel that if it is okay for a human then the animal will be fine, too. Be careful with your emotions and comments you make. Don't feed the trolls. HFP is about helping not only animals, but helping people to be better pet owners. They do not want people angered any more than they need to be. Nor do they want people to be unreasonable or unbalanced in their anger.

I adopted an extremely timid and scared 3lb chihuahua from a hoarding situation. She had never been socialized and was about 1 year old. I didn't know there was a technique called 'flooding' but I decided right away she needed to Face Her Fears. So, for the first few weeks, when I was home, she was in a baby front pack carried around or on a leash so she could not run and hide from me. She lived 14 years and was always timid and skittish but also such a sweet, dear, tiny little girl. She learned to love and trust a few special people. We still miss her.

There's a difference between pushing a animal's boundries to allow them to overcome their fears and there mental trauma's.
... And pushing an animal past it's limits to make it go 'viral' on social media. People stressing out animals for the fun of it and not because it helps the animal in the end.

I can only imagine the horrible abuse this little dog was put through for him to be that scared. Hope For Paws has so much patience and so much love they give to these rescues. I love Hope For Paws!

Some chihuahuas are that kind of timid by nature. I used to work with a lady who had two. The male took a week to get used to me. The female too 2 months before she stopped trying to bite because she was so afraid. She had both since they were puppies, and had tried to do everything right for both of them

@@michaeltutty1540 But this owner that abandoned this dog wasn't doing everything right which does make me wonder what all they did wrong.
My mother had a Chihuahua so I know how timid and nervous they can be but he didn't yelp every time he was touched. He might growl to tell someone he didn't know to keep away but not yelp like that.

Breaks my heart in tiny pieces to see an animal react like that to a simple touch. That's abuse, clear and simple. It's a joy to see this little guy getting a home he deserves and settling into his best life going forward. Anyone who induces that kind of fear in any animal should be taken out into the street and beaten within an inch of their lives. See how they like it.

Education is key! Flooding is absolutely necessary for pups like this and people just need to take the time to see that it is not hurtful to the dog, but so important for him to experience it so he will be able move on. Well done!! Little Arnold is the cutest :)

I agree. Taking it slowly will only prolong the distress, it would almost be like continuing to abuse the dog.

The couple who saved Arnold weren't experienced rescuers, so they did what they thought was best. They believed they were doing the right thing by giving Arnold time to de-stress, decompress, and get used to them by not touching him until he was ready.
The important thing is that everyone did their part in getting Arnold to where he is today...the couple who caught him, Eldad and his team,Terri and her team, and his adopters. All those people taught Arnold that he has value, and that they were all willing to work hard to teach him to be a trusting, loving boy because his life has meaning and importance, and he deserves a loving forever home.

People that are caught abusing an animal should be treated as if it were against another human!! Dogs know love....poor little guy must've had a terrible life to be this nervous of human touch. God Bless your group for ALL the good you do!! Everyday!!!
