It’s sad that The Cadets are not competing this season…having been fortunate enough to be in the corps from ‘79-‘84, I sensed that they were on the rise and ready for competing for the top spot within the next few years…lots of great memories for sure…a friend of mine told me a DCI history trivia nugget about how The Cadets averaged a DCI Title every 5 years following their historic 3-peat in ‘85, with the exception win in 2011, which was 6 years later…any guess that they would’ve been partying like crazy had they been able to compete through the 2034 season to celebrate their 100th anniversary! 😊 thanks for sharing this video and your commentary. ✌️🥁
The story behind the cornet was the instrument is the exact same one that was used by the professional player that played the solo from the original recording to the source material.

One thing about cadets 23 that I was astonished by is that they only marched 10 tubas
They only marched ten tubas for their 2015 "Power of Ten" show, and they won the Jim Ott award that year.
