- The brainchild of Don Yenko, one of America’s premier road racers and high-performance Chevy dealers, the 427-powered Yenko Super Camaro ranks among the quickest and most collectible American Supercars today - bar none. While just 201 were built in 1969, their legend remains stronger than ever. One of only 30 automatic transmission-equipped cars built for 1969, this choice “Double COPO” features both the COPO 9561 L72 High-Performance engine and COPO 9737 Sports Car conversion packages, with COPO 9561 bringing the 427/425 HP L72 V-8 engine, Heavy Duty springs, and special 12-bolt 4.10 Positraction rear axle and heavy-duty ring, pinion and axle shafts. The COPO 9737 package added a beefy 13/16-inch front stabilizer bar, 15x7 Rally wheels, E70x15 tires and a 140 MPH speedometer.

My father, who died in January, worked for Don Yenko back in the late 1960s. He may have sold, or at least saw, this car!
