  • In this Review I test the new Mini Crossover from Honda, the Honda Jazz Crosstar.
With a 30mm higher ride height, 50mm extre length, plastic suv styling with cladding around the car. Water resistant materials used inside, is it worth the extra premium over the highest model Honda Jazz?
In this review I will show you around the Honda Jazz Crosstar Exterior, Interior, features and also what the new Jazz Crosstar is like to drive out on the road and how it drives to the Honda Jazz.
The Honda Jazz Crosstar is a great self charging hybrid, powered by Hondas eHev powertrain, excess of 60mpg can be had.

Smashing video Ed, I didn’t know about that b mode on the transmission as well! Also didn’t know there’s now 4 generations of Honda Jazz, this one does look a bit Korean though

Thanks mate. Whenever I have a hybrid to test, most of the time I have it in B. Get some extra range for free 😊. It is a quirky design.

Have the normal Jazz getting 70mpg....great understated car. Very pleased.

I have the Crosstar, which I bought six months ago. It's been tremendous. I should point out that I live in New Zealand, where the Crosstar isn't available as a hybrid; it's petrol only. Price seems more reasonable: it's $NZ30,000, which is around 15,000 UK pounds.

Great review - I've been running a standard Jazz (Mk2) for years (which has about the same ride height as the Crosstar), but I'll be replacing it with another standard Jazz - it has just as much space, and I'm not bothered about the SUV fad.

Well, for me the raised height makes getting in and out sooo much easier. Try getting out of a low car by a curb! Plus the visibility is better. The looks are subjective, and I don’t like contrasting roof colours on any car. The subwoofer is a positive as well, if you like decent music. I hope it enhances the depth of the sort of baroque music I love. I’m going for a test drive next week so I’ll see. It seems to tick most of my boxes. Thanks for the review.

I have a crosstar, i bought it, because for me the standard looks of the jazz did nothing for me. It was going to be the crosstar or nothing. Plus being a big old unit, that extra height makes getting in a little bit easier.

Yes very, its not the best looking car in the world, but i would say its an easy car to drive, very comfortably and relaxing. I went from a 2020 civic. Lovely looking car and a nice car to drive, but was way to low for me. I let my heart rule my head on that one.
I stuck with Honda, as i got one of the best Honda dealers in the country on my doorstep . Not many dealers give you the service like they do and not many dealers throw in Matts and a full tank of petrol either.

@@JoePeddie That is great service. I had a civic to test back when I first started my channel. Not only is the body low but the seats are very low in the car too. I like the front end of the new jazz, quirky and simple and the grille and light design works really well. Not so keen on the rear. They do drive nice though and the 2 spoke wheel and Dash design and layout in the jazz is great.

The infotainment system is definitely a step up in the new jazz . I customised the main tiles and the bottom shortcut tiles .
I did as you did and drive in B mode, but after a while its best to drive in D, coast and then switch to B closer you get to cars and junctions,. One thing i noticed is my MPG is taking a hit, the colder it gets. I was getting 73 MPG (average), now gone down to 67MPG ) . Same route, same times, same driving style.

@@JoePeddie they have been making improvements, still not the best.
It may drop during the winter, I don't think the batteries hold charge as well in the cold. Some or most of the EVs coming out lately have battery heaters to keep them warmer which helps optimise the range.

I think the price differential is £1200, not £2000. To my eyes, the Crosstar looks better from all angles. The regular Jazz is a slightly dull and awkward looking regular supermini. Check out the Crosstar in metallic red. Very smart. That would be my choice.

    • @pittmotoring
      @pittmotoring  Před 2 lety

I do prefer the crosstar look with the arch and door mouldings over the regular jazz. I will have a look at that colour, only seen them in white, black, dark navy blue and grey. Thanks for watching 👍🏻

I would've preferred the Crosstar, but it lacks heated steering and it lacks the blind spot monitor... which made me a buy a used white Jazz ex trim this week. Waiting for handover and looking forward to it 😁

Ed, hat's off to you for getting lots of info in that review! I agree with you, I'd have the normal Jazz over this one like you said. It's not worth the £2k extra in my eyes. Well done Ed! 🙂
