  • In this video we talk about chassis configurations. Specifically for the MR-03 RWD, however the wheelbase and wheel offset information applies to the other Mini-Z chassis available today. We talk about three factors when configuring your chassis for the array of bodies available from Kyosho and other manufacturers.

    I watched your video on this and it was informative but can you tell me what LM means? Or racing is it better to go with the mid motor, the LM are the rear motor mount I'm guessing mid engine since you don't have the weight over past the rear axle. I don't have a local track this would be something I just be doing at home

    Great video. When purchasing a Mini-Z MR03 does it come with the required motor mounts etc to make all of the different configs? I am thinking of buying a couple of these to mount under 1/24 scale model cars or diecasts,

    amazing job on the video. is it possible to mount mr-01 bodies onto an mr-03 chassis?

    • @byebyeracing4277
      @byebyeracing4277  Před 11 měsíci

      Yes, however you have to consider that most MR-01 chassis was originally narrow. That said, bodies that are wide used wide offsets. Plan to purchase the associated motor mount and plan to switch to a narrow front end since MR-01 wheels are wider offset meant for a narrow chassis.

    Which configuration does what? I.e. what are the advantages of RM vs MM? Which is easiest to drive? Which is fastest? For me... I suck at driving, so easiest to drive would be my best bet.

    • @byebyeracing4277
      @byebyeracing4277  Před 3 lety +1

      Hey Gear Head36. To put it in 100 words or less, MM is going to be more nimble and turn in faster because the weight is more centralized. The RM is going to feel slower around corners on tight tracks but more stable on throttle down the straights as the weight is behind the rear axle.
      Easiest to start with, in my opinion, is the RM because of those characteristics. It will be harder to drive fast which means less mistakes.
      However, your options for RM are Nissan GTR Part Number 32331S-B (Recommended), Toyota 86 Part Number 32336PW, and Porsche 911 GT3 RS Part Number 32321S-B according to the Kyosho America website.

      @@byebyeracing4277 Thanks. That helps a lot. I have a MR-2 MM, and I've always had trouble keeping it off the walls.

    • @byebyeracing4277
      @byebyeracing4277  Před 3 lety

      @@gearhead366 it helps to turn the steering down a bit and reduce the throttle until you are consistent then ramp everything up a couple notches until you are not, then go back a couple clicks.

    Which chassis for a 94mm RWD? I want to use a Mitsubishi EVO on a RWD chassis but info is hard to find. MR-03 RM? Kyosho should really make this easier to figure out.

    • @byebyeracing4277
      @byebyeracing4277  Před 8 měsíci

      All of the chassis support 94mm RM. It's the furthest setting with the RM T-plate and RM motor mount.

      You will need the LM motor mount MZ305 , LM differential MZ302 and various parts that already come with the MM kit like the T-plate and the rear shock set.

      102mm is very stable and typically wider. 98mm is the most common and covers the range of classes from stock to open class.
