    When it comes to cars, we really are spoiled for choice. And yet, both my neighbor and yours will still buy whatever everyone else is buying.
    Hey guys, Stype is back with a list of the greatest cars that rarely anyone buys.

    The RC-F and Alpine A110 are severely underrated. Especially compared to the M4 (ew) and the Cayman, which I love. Yet I'd still go with an A110 if I had the money.
    Another super underrated car is the Abarth 124, it's a spicier MX-5 and also much prettier, there's even a version with a carbon hard top.
    Edit: I forgot Jaguar made this awesome sedan, sad it never caught on. Styling wise it's not only unique but stunning too.

    • @v.s.727
      @v.s.727 Před rokem +4

      Screw the new f40 m135i. They have ruined the one series. The F20 was special, and there was a reason to buy it. Manual I6 and rwd or 4wd if you want.
      But now the F40 is just one of many, and it's not even particularly good at beeing a hot hatch.

    • @magnustan841
      @magnustan841 Před rokem

      @@v.s.727 I’d argue the F40 is a better hot hatch overall. The F20 did the “hot” bit so well, with the six-cylinder engine and RWD/AWD, I found it didn’t do the “hatch” bit very well. Hot hatches for me are family cars, that just so happen to be really fun on a fast road or race track. I know someone who had a F20, the boot/trunk was very small, couldn’t fit much in it and felt a touch cheap inside. The new F40 is a world away, much higher quality interior with more storage space in the back. I will say the f20 looks much better though. So yeah, RWD and 6 cylinders on paper is a more desirable combo than AWD and 4 cylinders, but I personally think the F40 is the better overall package.

      @link6sick6 Před rokem

      You do not, you can get that motor to 400-450hp with the distributer still on, much more if you delete the dizzy and go a cam trigger kit. The only weak point would be the pistons, nothing wrong with the heads (in fact they have better mid range flow than the gte, GTE's top end doesnt matter when your pushing huge psi through). I have a 600hp supra with a 2jzge with the trigger kit on a safe tune with pump 98octane fuel. Going for 900 on E85. Now granted its a fully built motor, hypertune manifold, 6boost exhaust manifold, flex and 67mm turbo. Was probably still cheaper and better in the long run than buying a stock 2jzgte motor (15k in AUD).

      There is a 1.8 TFSI (16v) in the TT mk2 which is RUBBISH.
      But I guess you mean the legendary 1.8t (20v) from the first gen TT. This engine is amazing. Like you said, squeezing up to 250 hp without mods is easy and would still run reliable. With some perfromance parts (like forged pistons from S3 model, same engine family) it will go up to 400hp.
      Anyway... 1.8t is great!

    • @MrPrajitura
      @MrPrajitura Před 8 měsíci +1

      I'm pretty sure the Mk2 TT came with the new 1.8TFSI, the "1L of oil per 1000km is normal" engine which by all accounts is pretty shit. Mk1 did have the most powerful OG 1.8 20vT in the quattro Sport, 240PS from the factory. and of course the 225 BAM. forged internals help a great deal with getting more power out of them.

      Except RCZ is even uglier IRL than in pictures. It's almost the peak of ugly Peugeot. As sports car it was dusted by competition. It was completely pointless model. Even Peugeot itself made it even more useless with releasing 407 coupe with V6, which was nicer car overall.

      @@MJ-uk6lu the 406 coupe is an experiment in hideousness. That thing is so ugly, even blind people hate it. It is a coupe version of a hideously ugly saloon car, so you get the worst of all worlds. An impractical family car, or a shit handling sports car. I would rather travel on the bus than risk someone I know seeing me climb out of one of those abominations. I wouldn't accept one as a gift.

    I was hoping the RS5 Sportback got a mention, cause while the rivals are more brutal and shout louder with a V8, or F1 tech in the latest C63 and a huge grille in the new M3, the RS5 is just sitting there with a pretty design, a real nice engine and I find it is often more affordable, because no one buys them. 😂 I also find it sits in the shadow of its RS4 sibling, what with the estate/wagon cult. The RS5 Sportback has a lift back tailgate, giving you access to a reasonably big trunk/boot. Plus, I know wagons look cool and all, but you can’t beat a swoopy, 4-door coupe for style, can you?

    The fate of the RCZ is truly unfortunate. I also think it looked great and stylish when it came out, but especially the R had one big problem: it was FWD. While yes, both the Audi TT and the RCZ are no real sports cars, I think with the power to weight ratio it would have been an incredibly well handling car in its class. After all, the Opel GT/Saturn Sky was RWD too. And that one shared parts with the FWD platforms Astra and Insignia. It's a shame because I believe the only recent RWD cars Peugeot has ever built were driving at Le Mans.
    As for reliability, I think it can't get much worse than a late 2000s Audi TT either. They had huge oil consumption issues at the time, so the only thing people didn't like about the RCZ was... the badge. As it usually is. And I guess the cramped rear seats but let's be real, no one used these. It doesn't bother Nissan GTR owners after all
