I love that you made this video. I'm not shy about being pretty damn good at Eliminator myself, but we ALL have these games, and these days, ESPECIALLY in FH5 Eliminator. Work so hard, to upgrade into a Ferrari 333 time and time again, crap like that will work your nerves.

I won the eliminator on fh5 for the first time the other day partly based on watching you videos for tips. There was luck involved too - final arena was on top of the mountain & my level 5 deberti f150 couldn’t climb to the top where I was so i hung on the side & got a good boost & head start on the others. Really enjoy the eliminator vids, thanks so much for sharing!

I have a question if i can ask. I wanted to go to the stunt park so i drive to the stadium an its just an empty stadium. I havent played in a while so i dont fully get how the stunt park works. Is it always available or is the stuntpark only there for certain events? I hope you or someone can help me, thank you

I don't think I'll understand Horizon 5. Horizon 4 at least the terrain was divided enough to know what kind of car to use on different surfaces, but Horizon 5 feels like so much confusion for what car to use given the environment.

I’ve had fifty bastard attempts at trying to win the Eliminator and I’ve never won one yet purely for all these reasons just shown by Dubs, it’s so bloody annoying!

Sim steering isn't very twitchy with a lower linearity setting (I use 36)

In settings, go to "Advanced controls", and there's an option called "Steering linearity". Turning this down makes input at the center of the control stick less extreme, allowing for much more precise control.
A lower setting especially helps you make small adjustments to your steering at high speeds.

Standard steering dampens the effects of load transfer (In this situation, the effect when you aggressively steer the car from side-to-side), so that players that don't have enough control over steering inputs don't have to be on the edge of losing control, especially at high speed.
Simulation steering forces you to fully deal with that effect, with the added benefit of sharper turn-in.

On a serious note, I do believe that since the last update, the Eliminator is messed up with the finish lines being in random places or towards the edge of the arena instead of the centre. It makes it almost impossible to trap and definitely removes some of the enjoyment of playing it... 😔

@@fdumi93 Hmmm When you play your first game, Jaimin clearly says "All races finish in the centre of the arena" so why are they now going (as a recent example for me) from the very Southern edge of the circle to the very Western instead of the centre?? I was just curious if the game had been changed to make it deliberately harder to know the H2H destination 🤔
@@audidoo480 I have the same question about Jaimin's claim. Still, I noticed (sometimes) that at the beginning of the game, the finish is at the opposite side of the zone (because the zone is big), but then the finish is mostly towards the final zone (or towards the direction the zone is shrinking). For example at 6:55 the zone is shrinking towards East, and the finish line is also towards East. Same at 14:29 (zone shrinks to NE-E) and the finish at 15:35 is towards E.
@@fdumi93 Very interesting. So you're saying that the H2H destination is going to be generally in the direction of whatever side of the map the circle is?? (East if it's East, West if it's West etc...) I'll definitely try to pay more attention to that and see if I make the same conclusion. I fully understand that if you challenge in the middle of the zone, the race could go in any direction, I've just never had so many H2H race destinations be so unpredictable and towards the edges (except for the smallest challenge arena where space is more limited, obviously...)
It’s not the final zone, it’s the next zone. It won’t make the finish line be in a spot that isn’t inside where the next zone will be. So toward the end of the eliminator in the final few zones the finish lines are always very close to each other because the next zone is going to be a very small portion of the current zone.
It’s always best to try and identify what is most probably the final zone to determine where the next finish line will be. For instance, if you just completed a race with the end point being on top of the caldera, it’s not a wise move to drive off of the caldera to find another opponent unless you’re in a good off-road vehicle because the final zone will likely be somewhere on the mountain. This method is not fool proof as your finish line in the 3rd zone could be randomly on top of the caldera and the final zone end up being near the stadium, as while the 4th zone had the caldera within the zone the 5th and 6th didn’t, it will be better than assuming it will be the middle of the zone.
However, the zones almost always include the dead center of the previous zone within the next zone. Even if it’s at the edge of the next zone, it will generally be in there, so it all depends on where the final zone is. It’s harder to predict when the final zone is toward the middle of the map as the zones will not shrink towards one side of the map as much.
Your best bet is to see which side(s) of the map have the smallest distance between the new zone and the current zone. Usually that will be where the zone is shrinking toward, especially if it ends up being towards the edge of the map like the caldera, playa azul, the airstrip, or the Baja dunes.
