Fallout 4 Vault-Tec Workshop - Disguised Bunkers (Hidden Vaults)

- Using the power of the pillar, rugs and some fiddling I was able to make to pretty satisfying hidden bunker builds using the vault pieces.

I wanna see like a run down slums settlement I think that'd be awesome.
Just to let you know that I found a combination with the rug glitch using the new rubber mats from Vault Tec Workshop and the pillar glitch and it works wonders better than using the old rug glitch and with the pillar glitch it allows for plenty of room for clipping things together like the junk fences. Goodbye annoying spaces, and hello impenetrable Fence wall!

I definitely like the idea of no perimeter walls. Something kind of scenic about gazing at the drive-in in all it's former glory. Additionally, I think you have a really cool opportunity for a type of high-class bar/restaurant on the uncollapsed porte-cochère. It might even create a feeling akin to the snobbish "from the upper stands" attitude from Diamond City.
I don't know if you're aware, but you can no longer remove the "permanent beds" in some of the settlements, like the Slog for example. Once upon a time, we could use glitches to remove them, but for some reason Bethesda decided to patch the beds.
If you want to remove them now, download a mod called "Scrap Fallout", you can scrap almost anything with this mod which makes building a much nicer experience. Gone are those objects that spoilt your settlements (broken building, shrubs, rocks, cars ect).

Yeah, I know, I just wanted to put it out there for those on Xbox, I started a new game recently and it can spoil your settlements, so I thought It'd be a useful tip.
I can't rate that mod high enough.
None of that works for me any more, well until I downloaded the mod, now I can scrap anything.

It wouldn't work in any settlement for me, I can't see why they'd patch a glitch to remove beds, when it was actually improving the game for us builders? It was the first thing I did on all my previous saves.

What would be cool, making a huge warehouse and somewhere inside of it you open up the barn doors and find the vault door and go inside
Nice little place for Survival mode. Good use of a small number of vault pieces. I tend to just keep adding and adding...!
Very cool, I was wanting to do an outdoor vault but make it seem "hidden", and my only idea so far was build a city up on foundation blocks, and hide the vault under it.

I used this in my bars storage room. I made it behind a cabinet that looked like someone pulled it out a bit and used the overseer pieces

I usually place down a few poles and a stack of rugs when I build. That way of I store one I have more that I can easily grab.

if you put a warehouse foundation with a wooden wall (far right of menu ) from the wooden set and then snap a concrete wall on that it looks quiet good

I think a settlement filled with these could be pretty grand if each bunker had a purpose like a cafeteria bunker and residential bunkers and hydroponics bunkers

Speaking of the Place Everywhere mod, why hasn't it been ported to console; or been made yet? Is it difficult to get past collision or not?

+Tobi Post Like most of the more complex mods, you need F4SE for it to work, and you can't get F4SE on console.

At this point I've forgotten all about PS4 mods lol. There's so many good workshop and settlement mods that have so many cool little decorations like filled shelves and shit, I know you'd really love them :/
If Sony would work with Bethesda they'd get mods so much faster.
I am not as excited for them as I used to be. With all the DLC items, I have plenty of variety. I will use them when they come out, but I am fine without them.

When you do your railings it looks patternised(probably not even a real word) which imo is worse than uniform,all the same railings

Will the Vault structures menu show everywhere only after the Vault 88 quest is finished. Currently I have it only inside the Vault 88. I can make anything else from that dlc anywhere, but not the Vault structures.
What is that curved cloth roof thing and how did you get it? Is it from a mod?

I've been trying use the junk fences with the rug glitch at coastal cottage and I am having no luck. I've got to be doing something wrong
Instead of walls, create a perimeter of tactical choke points
Do you need to use the rug in addition to the pillar to glitch the fence into the wall ?
or can you just use the rug or pillar on their own?
i kicked the overseer out and still got everything except for the legendary vault suit.

How do you build vault stuff outside of the vault? When i do it the category doesn't appear in my workbench. Do i have to finish the vault quests first?

If you hold A/X On the respective controller you can grab clustered items such as houses and objects If their close enough.
Why is there so much water in that settlement?? Theres only a small puddle in mine (ps4)

I use a 360 controller but I'm sure you can puzzle it out...

Norespawns, Are there any vault doors that lock? I want to make a vault home for my character in Sanctuary, but I don't want settlers coming and going. Also, have you made a vault home? and if so, can you post a video of that?
No, there aren't any vault doors that lock. You would have to use the other powered doors and wire them to a switch.
I use the powered doors. Basically putting two on opposites sides of each other, and place a switch on each side then power them
Individually so that way when I go in my home I can close the door behind me so no one follows me in.
I'll have to look into that. Thanks! So I put one switch on each side of the door and I can turn it off?
There is a way I use to power a door both sides without logic gates, glitches etc:
1) Using a power wall pass through, power the room inside the building.
2) Power a switch inside at the doorway.
3) Using a second pass through take the power outside and power an out side switch.
4) Power the door from this switch.
When you open the door from the outside you can now close it behind you.
Hopes this makes sense, it's fairly neat and well.... it works for me.

never gonna finish it - there's nothing interesting left for me to add to it and it's way too big for me to decorate to any decent standard.

Complete the quest for the Vault Tec Workshop DLC, you can then use the vault stuff in any settlement

Probably obvious, but, are you sure you're a) using pieces that **can** be rug glitched, and b) making sure you get the sweet spot on the rug? Whenever I have trouble with the rug glitch it's usually that I'm not getting the right bit of the object on the rug.
No they did not! Im on Xbox One and i used the rug glitch a couple times literally a few hrs ago. Try putting your item almost directly on top of the rug!

You can build some decorative objects outside the vault if you haven't completed the quest, but you do need to finish it to build everything else.

Exactly the same, I've created at least 15 different characters that I've played about 4-5 hours each on then deleted after since mods got released.
