I'm really tempted by the Defender 16 as I have the Avata with the compatible goggles 2 and controller 2, still learning FPV so this seems like a natural progression. Thanks for the heads up about binding and tuning.

Could you make a film about how you set up the Defender drone? I am particularly interested in how you mapped the controller in beta fight.
So I got my defender 16 a month or so ago... I am on my 3rd o3 camera module install from cracking the lens.... tune is pretty maxed out and the stock motors are so noisy/vibration. Swapped in rcinpower gts v3 1002's with the stock hq props and it made a world of difference for the vibration coming through on throttle. Also can pull out of a dive now which... previously was a 50/50 shot...
Thank you very much for another excellent Review. Do you think we need an Open Source Standard for Lipo Batteries for a All in One connector? The USBc powerbank charging is really ideal for traveling but the quad is to heavy in my eyes the happymodel mobula8 is way Lighter. What do you think.?

How do you like the defender 20 compared to the Pavo20?
I bought pavo 20 over the defender 16/20 and darkstar 20 and pico. Pavo 20 is kinda sweet spot for me, using GF2023-3 props. Soon im going to change the motor to T-Motor 1103 11000kv. 😎

im looking to get my first 6s after moving from the dji fpv.avata and cinelog20.. im stuck, i dont know if to get the new nazgul f4 or get a nazgul f5.. i want the DC frame.both O3.. whats your favourite one And what would you go for?or stay with 4s and get the babyhawk 03, dude
If noise and sub250g doesn't bother you, go for the nazgul... if you want something sub250g and incredibly quiet, go for the baby hawk. I've currently got the bh 03, absolutely fantastic !
I still doubt the cooling of the naked o3 will cause issues . But you are showing the LED functions in minute 8 with quad powered on I assume?, No additional cooling needed? You don't mention anything about heating o3 at all this time. Do new fpv drone pilots don't have to worry any longer to overheat the o3 air unit?
I question the choices to strip down the 03 and then add a bunch of nonsense in the way of LEDs, switches, battery management circuits etc.
I found the defender 16 on amazon with dji 03 naked. Says no dji receiver. Where do i get a dji receiver? I can't find a receiver anywhere.
Hoping I don't get a name for posing stupid questions but, so there are no fail safes, like being able to monitor the battery level thru the goggles? And of course no RTH function low battery level or lost signal? What happens if you do lose signal?
And the normal, sport, manual mode switch doesn't do anything? Turtle mode?
Speaking as a long time DJI pilot. I have the DJI FPV but am afraid to fly it on manual. I spend time and money buying the latest greatest accessories for it but don't fly it.
Yes so compared to DJI you have very limited failsafe. You will see the battery voltage however if it gets to low it will just fall from the sky. There is no RTH or the intelligent failsafe features you have on DJI drones.
Hi thank you very much for this video. I recently bought this defender 16, I'm a complete beginner to drones and I think I made a mistake... 😭 I wanted to configure the drone on betaflight (I am also new to betaflight) and I believe I reinstalled the initial iflight software on the chip and deleted all the drone parameters by flashing the drone's mother chip. Since then the drone has turned on but the 03 air unit no longer turns on when I turn on the drone.... On the other hand, when I plug in the o3 is recognized by the DJI assistant when I plug it into the computer.... I imagine that the drone presets have also been reset... Do you have a solution or an explanation to resolve this problem? Thank you 🙏🙏

What version do you have with a receiver ?
It’s an elrs
@@enuar8807 the receiver is located under the O3 camera. You can bind it via all the usual ways with ELRS. You may need update it as well before binding. You should follow this www.expresslrs.org/quick-start/binding/

No way I would buy a quad that needed special/proprietary batteries, we don't need another "GoPro" company

We shouldn’t really promote proprietary batteries, they’re a nightmare for stocking and leave’s customers without a decent supplier nearby in most cases.

DONT BUY defende 16 ! Qaud is fun to fly but all the footage is Jello. ive had 2 of these and the footage is unusable. the camera mount needs to be soft mounted and also not connected to frame as a unibody to mount. i love flying this but not worth it. i bought ND filters hoping to fix the issue and it still is jello. With a little more engineering to make a soft mount camera dampener this could be a cool little micro drone. Another issue is battery's fail pretty quickly. Ive had mine for 6 months and all ready have thrown 5 battery away because they wont take a charge anymore. Only fun is flying it indoor but its usless if i cannot record video footage. Oh i forgot to mention the props they give you fall off in mid flight. the did send me replacement gemfans but dont use the stock iflights.
Hi, I imagine that many products come to you for free... it would be nice if you could make a guy who is jobless like me happy by sending me a drone like this... I know it will never happen, but who knows, maybe generosity will do a 360° and it will reach me ☺
