Check other videos out!!! two komatsu 575 Dozers pushing a 30 metre wide road in, 160 tonne of material per tractor each pass at stockton mine in new zealand
I worked for this company in that mine, and when you were working next to one of these monsters, and he had his entire blade full, coming at you it was scary, and awesome at the same time. 1100 HP, twin turbo, twin fuel pumps, same engine that was in the Komatsu 785 haul truck.
Sometime in the late 80s they brought the first 575 over to America. My grandfather was featured in the magazine as first to operate the dozer. He said they got it to the site piece by piece on a train and then assembled it on site! I wished my grandmother could find the magazine.
The scene at 1:46 is pretty mind boggling.Komatsu first had their own 1,000hp 264,000lb D555A bulldozer at Conexpo 81 in Houston.BennetShovel has a long 10 minute video of one pushing dirt up hill to.
CAT kids. Just look at their latest creation the new D7E, IT is a LOW SPROCKET design!!! If you look at the D11s the sprocket tooth loading is all on MAYBE 5 or 6 teeth. The original D10 was bad enough but then they upgraded the tracks for the 11s buy making them longer BEHIND the sprocket which took even more track AWAY from the sprocket .ALL other dozers have 180°of track to contact the sprocket, which can be up to 20 plus teeth. The pin & bushing loading is BRUTAL on a high sprocket dozer
Mr jpsj. It's a fire suppression tank. It's connected to lines that run into the engine bay etc to extinguish fires of the button is hit. I work for a company as a boilermaker and fit these systems to a lot of caterpillar machines. This is mine spec stuff.
What was amazing was the 575a-3 that could push 30% more than these a-2's. You can tell them apart as the a-3 does not have a ripper, just a huge counter weight.
There is absolutely no competition’ Komatsu D575 -A is a unbelievable Dozer,, Blade load 90 cubic yards or 24.3 tons of material on every pass , it will rip anything out the ground , there is nothing that will stop this Super Dozer , 3 Cat D-11-Rs couldn’t even compare to what this monster can move , ❤️👍
@zrparker1981 it all depends on what your pushing and the style of blade that is being used on the machine... ucan have blades that spread, that carry all sorts different sizes for different material.
Some serious Heavy metal there! So I wonder what the audio system is like in those cabs? I'd be blasting my music while working on them! Bit of rolling stones or something? lol
@zrparker1981 I totally agree with you. A D-11T will not out push a D575 push for push. The D-11 will how ever push more dirt while the Komatsu is in the shop for 3 months waiting on some five dollar part that has to be made to order. There is a reason why Black Thunder Mine has over 60 D-11's and 0 575's. They had one at one time (Im sure some Komatsu rep was doing some man touching to get it there) and they couldn't get rid of it fast enough.
I wonder if a d11 could do two passes in the time it takes this machine to complete one pass. I believe that a d11 would be more efficient per ton of material moved.
@d5pyte maybe but what are your thoughts on why the more expensive and (in your opinion) less productive D11 sells at a ratio of 3 to 1? There is a massive factor in each machines ability to do work that neither manufacturer can control
I dont know how old you are or if you remember the old Allis Chambers dozers fom the 70's and 80's but they built one back then that was almost as big as this 575,,man it was a giant for its day and way bigger than the old D9 of the era,,seems like they were calle a HD41 I think but not sure.
A very strong machine but it was priced high, maintenance cost is unbelievable and ended up being parked out most places because of maintenance cost. You could get two Cat D11s for the price of one 575 and on a long push one D11 can move almost as much material in a 11 1/2 hr shift as the 575. The cat is that much faster and also cheaper to operate. But when the 575 was running it was a sight to behold.
Yes far more efficient models out now. One of these 2 dozers is in a heavy machine museum in Cambridge New Zealand. Was gifted to the owner as they couldn’t find anyone to purchase the old gas guzzlers. New owner only had to sort the heavy haul bill to get it to the museum. I have a pic of my boy standing on the top plate. Can hardly make him out up there.
@784plb The D10s & D11s are NOT,repeat NOT,repeat NOT,the same. The original D10s had a shorter track frame than the new replacement D11s. The track frame on an 11 is longer after the sprocket which takes track chain AWAY from the sprocket ie LESS tooth contact with the chain.
+SuburbAllied You don't understand how much dirt they are pushing.. A smaller dozer can move a lot faster but to push the same about the same distance would take hours vs the 20 minutes it took these machines
@duane2072 he might have newer corner shoes on...that tends to make the blade bite in more....or he could be in harder material. It looks like a dogs breakfast of rock & soil there, but I guess you have to take the video as you see it. Hard to say, but they look to working in a mixed matrix there.
Cat has to step up to the plate and build a 1350 hp. with better fuel economy and more push pull .If they want to stay ahead of the rest.Komat has passed them by with their machines.
@harryscrotum007 yeah but where does the final drive get its power from.. through the engine to the torque divider then through the transmission out to your final drives.. its obvious the 575 can push more becauses in general its a all round bigger dozer.. but the raised sprocket is still a better design then standard... you have alot more stress on sprocket when thier not raised, its obvious
My experience is as an operator, and from touring different operations around the world. Like I said, I feel the numbers would be a whole lot different if you really looked.
Yes the komatsu 575 super dozer would eat the d11T for breakfast but I like both the OZ cat d11T extreme u blade coal dozers and this giant lord of all buldozers
I'd like to know where you got the figure of "85% of the production machines in pits are flat tracks". I've never found that number to be anywhere near the truth. In fact, I would say it's close to 70% high track.
I wish there were some kind of mine turned amusement part where normal people with some training could rent one of these for 5 minutes and have a go at moving soil.
@21gibbs, 575s arnt much bigger then d11s, and have a bad disign, even though they cant use high track because cat copy wrote it. the final drives take more stress because thier so big and get more surface area from the tracks having to go basically right around and the duo cones get ran into the ground from being so exposed to the dirt, also 575s dont even have removable belly guards, you have smalled space to stick hands in under, other wise for big jobs you have to remove the enitre cab..
I worked for this company in that mine, and when you were working next to one of these monsters, and he had his entire blade full, coming at you it was scary, and awesome at the same time. 1100 HP, twin turbo, twin fuel pumps, same engine that was in the Komatsu 785 haul truck.
Where is this mine or query at any ways? Doesn't look like anything in the USA?
@@athensboy123 It is the Stockton coal mine on the west coast of New Zealand's South Island.
Do you prefer these Komatsus or a Cat D11?
Is anyone still alive after 10 years?
Thought I'd seen it all in the D11 Cat but this is in a class of its own, unbelievable.
excellent vid, keep up the good work, great to see these rare machines working!
Sometime in the late 80s they brought the first 575 over to America. My grandfather was featured in the magazine as first to operate the dozer. He said they got it to the site piece by piece on a train and then assembled it on site! I wished my grandmother could find the magazine.
Yes the Tracks, blade, rippers are all separate.
amazing both 575s r going at the same time almost
everytime i went up to service the a40s ther was a 575 in the workshop
BRUTE FORCE at work.

i think both brands are great machines
Burning 🔥max diesel , great stuff . Push on for ever :)
Always good to watch these two Tonka toys ermm I mean giants in action! 🤔🙃🤧
has grate sound and power as well.
Great sound
Yes he's grating the transmission... Can you hear it?
Very nice to Se them do a road instead of just pooching overburden! God video hope for more :)
They're removing overburden in an opencast mine in New Zealand.
boost @0.20 ohhhhh yeaaaa thats power!
Qué equipos más extraordinarios, un saludo
Komatsu for the win!

135 tons per 90 cu yd pass, with a safe assumption of 1.5 tons per cu yd.
Essa maquinas sao demais😊😊
Mmmmmmm, just imagining the size of the dirt jumps I could make with those puppies! :-D
@PureN3WZ3ALAND Yeah...they use them to enlarge the island ,zealand didnt used to have a boot heal until they came out with this beast.
now that is how you move a mountain!!!.
this makes the d11 look like a tonka toy
I have a sneaking suspicion these two are ex Qld coalfields in Aus, there were two of these at Peak Downs but were sold to somewhere in NZ..
Power!
@TheStyrman heck ya im sporting a wood just listening to them v 12's purr!!

World's slowest drag race

C'est un monstre d'acier
good job..
El bulldozer mas impresionante que he visto, esta perra la marca komatsu

this machine makes the d11 look like a childs toy.
this link has the best quality of the komatus czcams.com/video/WDz-uk-sLgQ/video.html
cat d11..120 tone.... komus... 575 182 tone..
Big slow and numb buddy seat for the fitter ... D11 everytime far more versatile 👍👍🍺
@575kiwi i didnt know we had these beasts in nz :o
@TheJamesloy Looks are important in the industrial world.

im pretty sure the single shank ripper on one of those will rip rock 2 meters deep
How do the operators see anything out of those tiny cabs? Or do they use "The Force"?
@784plb The D10s & D11s are NOT,repeat NOT,repeat NOT,the same. The original D10s had a shorter track frame than the new replacement D11s. The track frame on an 11 is longer after the sprocket which takes track chain AWAY from the sprocket ie LESS tooth contact with the chain.
I’ve seen this exact dozer at Brooklyn quarry nz the fire extinguisher is bigger then me
Nossa !!!😲 É um Monsters comedor de terra !
55 gallons an hour of diesel ....i ran a 375 , would love to operate a 575 :)
Kamtus is tha beast
bet this is a fun job
@575kiwi yea because cat is the best at everything it makes
Che bello poter vedere uno scontro Komatsu vs Caterpillar
We had 2 575s on the Anthem project in Henderson Nevada 04-06.
Fun when people compare this to a CAT D11 when a 575 is 1.5 times as big(heavy)
They’re still the biggest dozers in the industry
Great power
@frostexcavating well said.
If an Alien where to watch this, it would probably find it a very peculiar hobby, pushing some dirt in slow motion speed.
vai a cuocere hot dog donna
***** :)

SuburbAllied 😉
u
Good nice, from Indonesian
These are 2 good adversaries for chuck norris...
To give you an idea of how colossal this monster is. Its about equal in weight and Horsepower to *THREE* D9G's!!!!!!
@duane2072 he might have newer corner shoes on...that tends to make the blade bite in more....or he could be in harder material. It looks like a dogs breakfast of rock & soil there, but I guess you have to take the video as you see it. Hard to say, but they look to working in a mixed matrix there.
liebherr pr 776 the king
Cat has to step up to the plate and build a 1350 hp. with better fuel economy and more push pull .If they want to stay ahead of the rest.Komat has passed them by with their machines.
Komatsu stopped building the 575, so that would pretty much indicate that there is not a big enough market for Cat to bother with.
yes that would do it ..no market.but the quality of the machines still challanges Cat,that they should still bother with.
They should call this thing “the glacier”.
My experience is as an operator, and from touring different operations around the world. Like I said, I feel the numbers would be a whole lot different if you really looked.
some beasts like, would not mind a day in one
It's got a flashing light on top so low flying aircraft dont hit it
Too bad the video quality isn't a little better. That's ok though, the impressive machines make up for it 👍🏻
I beg to differ, the 575 will win over a D11 any day. Just my opinion.
Komatsu refused to side by side push against our 11r carry dozers
Yes the komatsu 575 super dozer would eat the d11T for breakfast but I like both the OZ cat d11T extreme u blade coal dozers and this giant lord of all buldozers
Well I mean, it’s like almost twice the size of the D11 so that’s not exactly a hot take.
Just as the first dozer revs up at 1:20 a bird drops out of the sky Lol
"don't stop me now, don't stop me.....cause I'm having a good time..."
Freddy Mercury.
A big tractor that can move a lot of material but to expensive to maintain in the long run.
فين شغلك
ni lo quiera dios esos animales mueven montañas, los japoneses son la mera brasa!!!
komatsu super tangguh.
Bravo
@TheHank58 What's a wheel barrel?
I'd like to know where you got the figure of "85% of the production machines in pits are flat tracks". I've never found that number to be anywhere near the truth. In fact, I would say it's close to 70% high track.

making a new road into the pit?
@MrSilicon605 Yup, you're a truck driver for sure, can't find the caps lock button.
How can the operators see where they are going? The blade is taller than the cab.
Komasutra is a really funny name
Thumbs up if you'd like to see one of these in a tractor pull competition!
I was told that they used 225 liters of diesel per hour from someone who got one in their museum in New Zealand
thats very good when you consider the work it does.
Cant beat the black smoke
if i won the lottery this would be toy purchase number 7
What is the red tank on the side?
