JUNK & JUMPS I Witta, Queensland, Australia Travel Vlog 144, 2022
VloĆŸit
- Äas pĆidĂĄn 19. 10. 2022
- Come with us when we visit the Witta Recycle Markets which is a large second-hand (junk) shed located in the local Resource Recovery Centre and set in the sub-tropical bush. We can't believe the huge assortment of recycled items, all neatly organised and the prices are so low! There's everything from surfboards to tools, pianos and antiques, books and bikes, furniture and toys, gardening equipment and ornaments. The markets are operated by local not-for-profit organisations with proceeds from sales going back into local communities.
Next stop...coffee & delicious homemade cake at Witta's newest cafe...'Nest in Witta'.
On our way home, we stop to watch the talented motorcyclists at the 'Conondale Classic' Vintage Dirt Bike Riding.....

Hi, we're Beth & Paul from Brisbane, Australia and we love to travel!
Paul retired on 28th February 2020 and on the 1st March 2020, we set out on a 6-month adventure around South East Asia. This was a well-planned once-in-a-lifetime travel experience! It was our intention to show you how you can have a great time travelling without spending a fortune.
Our timing wasn't great - with the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus and subsequent global turmoil less than a month into our trip.
Until it is safe to travel internationally again, we turn our focus on travelling around Queensland and sharing everything our beautiful State has to offer!
We try to post our videos weekly đ

Thanks Ben and Maz đ€ Hope youâre feeling much better Maz â€ïž
ffffiiiirrrrrssstttt ! yaas !
This was great. Love looking through second hand markets. Managed to see a couple of things there that I still have here. Thanks for taking us along..â€
Weâre so pleased you enjoyed this oneâŠwe loved that everything almost ended up in landfill but are finding new homes instead and the profits go to local charities đ€
Superb video đđ„°đ„°
Thanks so much đ€
Nice kx500 on the thumbnail đ good to see the classic 2 strokes out and racing! I have a very tidy 2000 Honda Cr250 on display in my garage. Love it đ
Hi Beth and Paul, nice video as usual. We will be checking out the Noosa Farmers Market a week on Sunday. We hope that the weather stays fine for our Noosa visit.
Thatâs great Mark đ€ itâs very warm this week which is how it should be for this time of year âïž So, hopefully it will be really warm for you next week too!
Really enjoyed your video đ
Thanks so much Lynn đ€
Beth you had me at Plucka Tucka
Ha ha....Whoops, I mucked it upâŠ.should have said Clucker Tucker đ±đ
Hiii Beth and Paulđđ!! What a lovely video!! Amazing that they have that second-hand market, must be so fun to look through, it looked like they have some beautiful stuff! I (Shahd) absolutely lovveee antiques/vintage stuff đ! We both love recycling so that would be a lovely place for us to visit someday! I can't imagine a town with only one cafĂ© đ but must be cozy and they would know everyone in town by name! This is very rare here in Egypt! Thank you for showing us such beautiful places as usualđ€©.
Love Ghada and Shahd â€
Hi Ghada and Shahd â€ïž yes, thereâs nothing better than getting a vintage bargain and helping the environment at the same time is there? đ There are a few small towns around the Sunshine Coast Hinterland that only have one cafe and yesâŠtheyâre usually cosy places where you almost always bump into someone you know! đ€ We can imagine that you have delicious cakes in Egypt â€ïž
Nice video đ
Thanks đ
its madness over here ?look at those cakes!
YesâŠweâre following whatâs happening in the UK on our news đł and the cakes did look fantastic and are all homemade đ
When I saw the thumbnail I thought one of you was riding the bike and thought wow đ
Ha ha haâŠâŠit was great to watchâŠthe course had plenty of jumps and steep hillsâŠ.and they were going so fast đđđ
We were at the same tip yesterday đ
Ha ha howâs that? First time for usâŠ.loved the recycling market đ
Haven't watched in a while. But we recently had our end of year choir concert at the Judith Wright Centre in Brisbane
Hi Imogen đ€ Thatâs a great venue! Hope it went well đ
It went amazing wish I could have invited you to come watch
Hello,
So pleased I found your videos......moving to the Sunshine Coast but have never been before.....from Perth WA.
We cant decide on 3 houses, one just out of Noosa, one in Yaroomba near coolum and the other is in Alex Heads.
Got 3 daughters 16, 13, 7. The oldest will be studying 2 days a week in Maroochydore but we are ok driving if not too much traffic.
Your thoughts? Would be greatly appreciated đ
Every where looks so amazing.....but we want to put roots down and be apart of a community.
Hi CJ đ€ Thanks for your message, weâre really pleased youâre enjoying our videos! This is a tricky question, but based on the information youâve mentioned, weâll do our best to give you an answer. Firstly, theyâre all good areas âïž However, Alex Heads is much closer to Maroochydore than Yaroomba or Noosa, itâs also closer to the Sunshine Coast Hospital, Sunshine Coast University and the Sunshine Coast Plaza. Itâs fair to say that the traffic in the coastal towns is pretty hectic nowadaysâŠ.it would take over an hour to drive from Noosa to Maroochydore in peak times. We would suggest you come and spend a week driving around the region to get a feel for the different towns and distances.
oh dear our prime minister has resigned were having a lottery on 50 days for the next one?yes good video he like your videos its far better than any politics
Thanks John and Alison đ€ We have been following whatâs been happening on our news đł
Shouldn't the video have been 7 minutes and 29 seconds of vintage motocross and 20 seconds of recycled goods and coffee?
Don't make me give you a "thumbs down". đ
Just kidding. I'd enjoy picking through the second hand goods and would have a good check of the books.
Ha ha đ Seeing the classic bikes in Conondale was a bonusâŠwe happened to drive past them after leaving the recycling centre. We thought they were awesome too đ
Hi Beth and Paul, can you please send me tips to rent an apartment in Brisbane before I arrive? I sent a message in your Instagram. Thanks.
Hi Paulo đ Weâve just read both your messages from today and can hopefully give you a couple of tips. We would suggest the website flatmates.com.au as a good place to start if you wish to share with other students. The CBD can be expensive, so you might consider other places nearby like West End, Coorparoo or Toowong. It may be difficult to rent something before you arrive as there is a huge demand for rentals at the moment, but you can certainly do your research. Realestate.com.au and Domain.com.au will have rental listings also. You may be able to Google for some âstudent onlyâ accomm in Brisbane or your English College may also be able to offer assistance. We wish you lots of luck in your search and success in your studiesđ€
