@@ohwell2163the strongest in faith were tortured, even torn in half. Read Hebrews 11. Strong Faith does not equate to lack of suffering, there is real argument to say it increases suffering, but there is fullness of peace and joy as you walk with God.

As a foster parent, I can confirm that God does provide.
We took in a family of 6 kids on top of our family of 5.
We never ran out of food, and one friend bought us an 11-passenger van.

Fundamental idea 💡
There's more possibility available even to people who think that they are in poverty, even if they're in poverty than they believe if their alignment is proper and their aim is up.
A lot of the churches are not helping like they were called to. I am telling you though he is weeding them out. Tithing isn't just giving money to a building it's deeper than that.
And not everyone is supposed to tithe
Jesus never said "Church" was a place. It was when two or more people came together under the word of God. Thus. Stop depending on a facility and faculty to save you and others. It's up to us to work together. If you see a neighbor needs help, money to a church that does not care will not help. If you see a need, fill a need. Make a meal for that neighbor, offer help, get the community to work as a whole. These places of worship are money pits that do little to no good. It's the people within that make the difference.
Most churches are failures. They miss the mark. The message should only be: Read the Bible Daily and build a relationship with Jesus Christ. Period. ✝️❤️👍🙏

Tithing is sacred I give tithing in my church. I see it as an investment to my community and myself. I lost my job once the Church helped paid for my food and rent. They helped me to get a new job. They spend the tithing helping people like that and community events. It is sad when churches abuse it and give it a bad name.

"If you're rich and you don't have a community, you're poor." Our culture has elevated decadence and materialism at the expense of the nuclear family. This is the crux of the loneliness epidemic, even though we're connected now more than ever.
"we're connected now more than ever" No, we're not; our devices are. We are but hosts to the viruses of, not the internet itself, but "social media." One can only truly be connected with a tribe in real life. Mind you, not everyone is disconnected. God looks out for us; He lets us try new things and learn from our mistakes. I hope that we will wake up soon... and pray.
This was an inspirational discussion! I learned interesting things about the Abraham story. Thank you Dr. Peterson and the Pastor…and his wonderful wife.

Pray until you are sick, then go do actual hands-on work towards what you're praying for for 10 minutes and see which action gets you further.
We are where we are today because of decades of good people not actually fighting against evil while evil did hands-on work 24/7 to get what it wanted.

He's Catholic... Catholics deny Christ through the rejection of certain scripture. They deny that Jesus is the only way to the father... priests call each-other father... they deny that belief in Christ is necessary for salvation...

As an aside, you're wrong to think that Roman Catholics deny that faith in Christ is necessary for salvation or that Christ is the only way to the Father.

The good Bishop makes many subtle, yet CRUCIAL points. My favorite being the proclamation that those who do good or help their fellow people are rewarded with good and help from places they could never comprehend it coming from. Its not a matter of hurting yourself or being required to do something outside of your means. But a matter of if you can...then DO! So many levels to what he's said here that I'm sure we could all writes book length comments (kind of like this one 😂) But it doesnt have to be complicated..random acts of kindness are powerful, and there is never a minimum required dollar amount to them! 🎉💖 I still have hope for us, though it is getting very very worrisome out there! 😔

Excellent movie; cried and laughed; felt pain and joy. It is a blessing. I watched it today...never understood the greatness of humanity as I did today and have no interest in racism as you wanted to bring it up today. But loved the humanity and spirituality. Noticed the two adopted girls ended up as single mothers as opposed to full families.

Hi Dr. Peterson! I would love to discuss The Word of God with you from a spiritual perspective. It’s exciting to me that you are pursuing a further understanding. However, one of the most mentally shifting words one can change when referring to the Bible events is exchanging the word “story” for the word “account”. Why? Simply put, the word “story” has a connotation that it may not be true, but we can learn valuable life lessons from it. Whereas, if we use the word “account” or perhaps “event”, it denotes that a real instance took place and a real person underwent the “account”. For someone who is Christian, the Bible is a true account of a people and their God who eventually by way of His grace gave an opportunity for all humanity to be reconciled back to Him. If we only see the Bible as a story, it never works its way down to the marrow of our bones (Heb 4:12). More to come if you’re interested! 😊
Something I notice sometimes on where preaching clashes is what designates a difference between “An example of God’s Grace, manifest by one if his children” versus “A practically Godless man trying to merit his way towards Heaven.”
I am spiritually struggling with this. What work can I do, or, if its not the *kind* of work, but the mindset I have going *into* God’s work, that determines the difference between me being Spiritually lost, versus actually following Christ, or Lord and savior?

I saw this movie yesterday. I sobbed more than once. I love your mission to save the children, but what stirred my soul was the church. Your church in contrast to the modern day church. I am so disappointed in the churches today. I want to attend and commune with the saints who desire to KNOW GOD INTIMATELY, to trust in Him and make Him known throughout the world. Save the children, absolutely, but more importantly do it through those who will trust God and not depend on man or manna alone. Yes God uses “man” and yes we use money to live, but where is your dependency?
Pray for God’s people to unite around TRUST IN HIM. Help God’s people to be like Josha: “Do not be afraid, do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God shall be with you, wherever you may go.” Joshua 1:9
