  • These motors are well known for failing in VAG Group cars, leaving you without heat either on the right side(V159) or on the left side(V158).Replacing them with new ones is very expensive but you don't really have to replace them! They CAN be fixed for most of the time even if the diagnostics show permanent damage to them because it's not the motor itself that failed but the potentiometer inside it! Watch the video for more details!

Thank you for making this video. Mine was a similar model on a golf 7 2013 driver side temp flap control motor and pot. meter. I cleaned inside the potmeter and now it seams to work fine.

hello friend hope you can answer, i have an audi a3 2015
it had some issue with ac compressor but i sent it to get fixed and got no problems. but after that, when i turn on the ac it works just fine for a lapse of time can be 10 min or 20 or 30 but suddenly the air flow turn down and wont let me turn it up, wont pass from the middle. after a while it will let me turn the fans up and work fine again.
The air flows cold so no problems with that, just the air fans. I scanned and gave me this code B109915
have any idea what could be?

It could be V158 Temperature flap control motor or your heating radiator might be clogged up!

    Hi
Thank you for your video. Facing similar problem i think with an A4. Is yours still working?

Yes,it still works! Most of them will work for years if the potentiometer is only dirty and not damaged. If it's damaged,it must be replaced!

Pass 2 years since you repaired your motor can you confirm if it's still working ?

Yes! V159 still works. I also did V158 but that one started to randomly malfunction again and needs a reset from time to time.

Yes that would be smart. How is this motor suppose to work? Step by step or just open/close

ALL motors and gears in plastic, seem to be gummed up with some crap lubricant VW put together when they had their new years party. I've fixed 5 different functions on my vehicle, because of dried out gears. FML!

      Hi
What other functions did you fix? What issues were they causing?

  • @mariareginaneuenschwander4166

We can barely watch your video mate. Next time remember to film your hands and show you're doing properly...

Next time, try to keep your work where we can see it. You are pulling everything out of view. :P

You're right but the good part is that what you can't see is not that important! :)) When I work on something I tend to forget that I am filming!
